Horrible customer service. Field representative did not show up for scheduled appointment, then lied and claimed he did show up. On another occasion, a Bartletts field representative arrived to apply $300 treatment that was not scheduled. Think twice before using this company.

He has a keen eye and develops recommendations for our trees and large shrubs that are spot on. The team of tree cutters that came to Huntington Oaks in Duarte were truly professional, masterful in cutting trees and worked so quickly! The 200-300 year-old oak tree had fallen in 2 sections and was the size of two of our condos, but this didn't stop the men from doing their job so efficiently. I claimed it was "artistry" in the works to actually dismantel the gigantic limbs and cut through a trunk that resembled a baby redwood sequoia tree! We will be forever grateful for having you keep our condos and the general area safe while handling this incredible job! Hats off to all of you at Bartlett Tree Experts! You truly are EXPERTS!

In 2016 we began a search for a certified arborist to help us manage the trees on our homeowners’ association (HOA) property. Our townhome complex was constructed in 1975 and we have 130 mature trees on the property, including pine, oak, sycamore, liquid amber, & eucalyptus trees. Many of these trees are protected by law and require permits to trim or remove. I received a referral to Bartlett and when I met with Rod Mann it was abundantly and immediately clear that he was the best choice: expansive and current knowledge, patient, responsive, and able to work within our budget constraints at that time. Rod established a trimming schedule for us that spans all 4 seasons – something we desperately needed. Prior to working with Rod & Bartlett, the trees were trimmed annually or semi-annually, and selection was determined by whatever trees “looked” like they should be trimmed according to the tree trimming service available at that time. It wasn’t an optimal process for the trees or the HOA budget.
Rod Mann and his crews are so much more – true tree experts. I’ve watched the crews trimming 60-foot trees and I’m in awe of their skill and the care they display for the trees and the surrounding property. I’ve also witnessed their superior safety practices and realize our prior vendors weren’t sufficiently knowledgeable on safety or proper trimming techniques. Danny & Emilio are excellent crew supervisors – when the day’s plan is set, the crew dives in and they don’t waste time. Each person knows his role for the day, and they watch out for each other and work very well together – a true team. I recently discovered that Rod Mann has stopped by a few times to check on our trees, and we are impressed and grateful for his superior level of service and commitment to our HOA and our trees.

If you want your trees trimmed properly, effectively, and with great beauty -- this is the company to connect with. Richard McLeod was outstanding in coordinating our tree trimming and his staff was courteous and efficient. Many of our neighbors wanted their business card!

Unresponsive / unprofessional.

Used Bartlett 3 years ago to trim 3 trees on the recommendation of my neighbor who has used them for years. They were significantly more expensive than companies I've used in the past, but they also did a much better job.

So, time to trim the trees again. Bryan Locke comes out to review the work. Originally was only planning on trimming the 3 trees again, but they also said they could do several extra tasks (trim tall cactus, remove/replace palos verde tree that has very bad scale, etc.). I was pleased w/ the scope of work and ready to move forward once I received the estimate. Bryan stated they were booked until week of tgiving & I tell him I'd be looking for the week after tgiving or later. And here's where they became totally unresponsive.

Waited a week & heard nothing, so I sent an email to Bryan using the email address on the card he gave me to ensure he had my contact info. Waited another week w/ no response, so called Bartlett and left a message on their voicemail. Waited another week w/ no response, so called again. Person who answered the phone forwarded me to Bryan's phone - I immediately get voicemail that states it is full, says goodbye and hangs up on me. Call back & tell them I was hung up on. Person answering the phone looks up my account info & states she'll send email to Bryan as high priority "so it'll be at the top of his inbox". It's now been another 1.5 weeks w/ no response.

Took me awhile, but I now get they really, really don't want my business. Completely unprofessional! No response or even any notice they wouldn't be providing an estimate or would get back to me or ..... Absolutely nothing!

They did good work 3 years ago, but I'll never use such an unprofessional / unresponsive company again.

My heart breaks when I often see trees that have been “trimmed.” These trees are amputees, often left with gaping limb wounds, blunt tops and little or no leaves. There are lots of them. And that is why I use Bartlett. Years ago, I started using Finch Tree Service because this company treated trees with respect and gave them trims that promoted their health. And when Finch became Bartlett, services were enhanced further with feeding, spraying, diagnosing and other care. Yesterday, I had two major trees trimmed by Bartlett, San Gabriel. The trees are magnificent. They are intact and have been lightened so that the wind can blow through them easily.

Starting with Richard, my Bartlett representative, the service was above and beyond. I happen to live next door to in irrational tree hater, upon whose property my Coast Live Oak extends. Several times this person has screamed at Richard. With patience, Richard worked with us as we found other family members to allow access to trim the tree and provide assurances that Bartlett was a responsible company. Richard is always most helpful and pleasant, and we are thankful for his professionalism.

On to the working team: Jeff, Agustin, Rafael & Froylan are the best. Their expertise in shaping the trees was artistic and the trees are beautiful. They worked diligently and carefully until the job was done.
They were friendly, respectful and pleasant. After their cleanup, my entire property was spotless, no debris was left behind. Yard items that were moved were replaced. In fact, at the end of the day they offered to replace items that I had removed the day before, even though they hadn’t moved them. The very best team that anyone could ask for. I recommend Bartlett to others and I would not think of using anyone else.
