I really appreciated Justin Walker and the careful service from this business. A friendly web interface made reporting and scheduling easy, Justin called me back a few times to find out when I was ready, they didn't forget. The Team, Armando and Jocelyn, arrived and quietly and completely took care of the problem leaving everything sanitized and fresh. The completed invoice and accompanying fotos gave me the documentation I needed to file a claim. I'd call them again if I ever have another problem.

Justin and his crew handled water damage repair for me after my whole downstairs apartment was flooded due to roots in the sewer. It was major and required a new lateral sewage system be installed. Justin was responsive, answered my questions thoroughly, and took out the ruined rug, flooring, drywall and furnishings. I trusted him to take good care of my property and to address any of my concerns. They did a great job!

My master bathroom had a water damage Cat 3 and Fire and Water Damage Recovery team did an excellent job cleaning the damaged area. They had detailed estimate and delivered as promised. Special thanks to the project manager Justin Walker and his team member Eric👍

Five stars for these folks! We had a slow leak in the upstair pipes in our old SF house, and by the time we discovered it, the ceiling, walls, and floor below had been soaked for some time. We called a couple places to come by, take a look, and give an estimate. Fire & Water Damage Recovery were on time, straightforward, detailed, realistic about work and costs, and efficient. We chose them over the competitors and I'm happy to say they completely followed through every step of the way. We worked primarily with Justin, and he was great, and the folks in the office were great too -- always on top of things. They worked directly with our insurance company without any glitches or miscommunications. They were great about working with our schedule, including having to reschedule one of the visits. They left everything super
neat and clean, and completely ready for the repair work. In short, I really felt in good hands and did not have to worry once. Hard to say better than that!!

My home was damaged significantly by the big storm that hit the Bay Area on New Year's. Mike was the first call I made at 5:00 am as water began coming in through our foundation and within two hours his crew was at our house. Over the 18 days that followed my initial call, we experienced the absolute best service from Mike to every other person at the company. It meant so much to my family knowing that we could lean on their team not only for the work they provided but for guidance in how to move forward. They really care about their customer and we are so fortunate to have worked with them during what's been a tough situation for our family. Highly recommend!!

A water pipe broke inside a wall, and we didn't know until the carpet in a lesser-used bedroom was found soaked through. After the plumber took care of the emergency problem, we now needed to face the emergent problem: how to deal with the water damage. Being new to town, I needed a referral that came from a trusted source and the best recommendation I received was to Fire and Water Damage Recovery. From my first contact to the day they packed up and left my perfectly dry and fresh smelling space, this group of professionals was on pointe. Every single interaction I had with this company exceeded expectations. Mike and his crew are top notch, trustworthy, helpful (showed me what might help with the insurance claim, for instance), collaborative (did not disregard my input, as many "pros" do, but understood that as the homeowner I am part of _any_ team that comes into my house), completely professional, and efficient. Oh! And -- fairly priced. If you need remediation of a damaged space, you can't do better than this company.

After a fried recommended them, I called them the day after a fire hydrant accident flooded our utility room and under our garage on a steep down slope lot. Their team was prompt and their attention to detail saved our house from future serious future problems.

They came out almost immediately and evaluated the issues and had a team removing the wet areas the following day. They were very meticulous in finding all the wet areas even in very hard to get to crawl spaces and light fixtures.

I could not have been happier with their work and how the team made it extremely easy from the evaluation, to working with insurance company to completely drying our flooded areas.

Water Damage recovery help us fix an unexpected water issue that affected a wall. They came over the same day we called and provided a detailed breakdown of how best to remedy the issue and provided a detailed estimate the next day. They were the only company who truly knew how to address the issue and suggest additional solutions that no other company even thought of. We also agreed on a start date and time. On the day the work was to begin they showed up on time, prepped, protected all furniture and appliances and completed the work over the course of the next several days. They always left the job site clean and orderly and were respectful of our home in every way. The owner went out of his way to communicate clearly and provided help and assistance on another small matter outside the scope of work at no extra charge. The results were fantastic and we could not have been more pleased. The work was top notch and the price was fair. We highly recommend them!

My experience with F&WDR was excellent and very professional. I engaged their service for the first time after my tenant’s natural death inside the property and it was like a crime scene. They did an exceptional job cleaning up and coordinating with the building. They also returned to clear the stubborn odor. I highly recommend F&WDR.

We had a water leak in our house that had damaged a patch of our ceiling. They sent a
great team of workers - did a good job of covering, protecting the place, explaining their process, and finished work in a reasonable time and at a very competitive cost!

Take note that they DO NOT fix the ceiling or plumbing - you would need to hire other contractors for that.

This company was very helpful when I called to get information on water damage. They explained everything clearly and were patient with me. The workers handled all my personal belongings with care and are very nice. I will definitely call them again next time a disaster happens. I now know who to call for restoration.

Great service, very professional and excellent attention to details. Easy to reach them over the phone. I used their service to mitigate water damage in my house. Justin did a great job from estimating the work needed to actually implementing the work needed. He was also very patient with my questions and gave me a lot of tips for the subsequent repair service.

Had a great experience working with Justin and has team following an unfortunate leak that required much of my ceiling and insulation being removed. They were timely, did a great job, and Justin was incredibly responsive and willing to talk directly to other contractors involved in the process. Would highly recommend!

Update: I'm upping to 2 stars because Fire & Water did offer a partial refund — after we filed a complaint with the Contractors State License Board. I appreciate that they responded eventually, but only after a lot of effort and escalation on our part.

I hired Fire & Water Damage Recovery for water remediation after a sewage backup, and I'm honestly shocked at how bad the experience was--especially considering the nearly $5,000 price tag. For "emergency services," this was already overpriced, and that didn't even include the $3,000 we had to pay separately for asbestos abatement. To add insult to injury, we later had to pay another $2,200 to a second contractor to fix the mess they left behind.

At the time, I trusted they would actually do what they promised: assess the damage thoroughly and clean it up properly. Spoiler alert: they didn't. They didn't even move furniture in the basement to check all the walls. A month later--after we moved the furniture ourselves--we found mold growing on two of the four walls they had "cleared." The floor was visibly bubbling in multiple areas they claimed to have inspected. It doesn't take a forensic scientist to figure out they missed a significant amount of water damage.

We reached out again and they sent their project manager to inspect. He confirmed what we already saw: several areas of obvious water damage they had completely missed. But instead of taking any responsibility, they offered to charge us again to remove the water they failed to catch the first time. At that point, we no longer trusted them and needed to get the mold addressed ASAP, so we hired a second contractor--who confirmed the mold was caused by moisture left in the flooring after the overflow and charged less than half of what Fire & Water did.

When we asked for a partial refund to cover the cost of the work they missed, they deflected, denied, and demanded proof from the second contractor--as if any contractor is going to draft a formal report for free just to wade into a legal pissing match. They also claimed "anything could have caused the mold," which was honestly laughable, given that the mold was growing in the exact places they skipped and directly above the visibly warped flooring. It was textbook water damage. The idea that it came from some random, unrelated source is insulting to anyone with eyes.

On top of everything, they tried to push us to go back to our insurance to get more money, suggesting, "Oh, people do that all the time for missed water damage." Really? So now they're essentially advising us to scam the insurance company because of their own failure? It's bad enough they missed crucial damage, but they were more than willing to try to milk the situation even further.

And look, I hate writing negative Yelp reviews. If you check my profile, you'll see I'm usually handing out 5 stars like Halloween candy. I genuinely prefer to resolve things directly and be reasonable--especially in this case because I know most people dealing with water damage are stressed, angry, and overwhelmed. But we were kind. We were calm. We gave them multiple chances to make it right. And they still couldn't be bothered.

Bottom line: I would strongly recommend steering clear of Fire & Water Damage Recovery. They do the bare minimum, charge a premium, and then act like any fallout is a mystery. I'm reporting them to the Contractors State License Board and considering small claims court--because that's how seriously I take this. I just wish they had taken the work (and their responsibility to their customers) half as seriously as I did.

A raccoon got locked in my garage them tried to get out. In the hours of his many attempts he did some very serious damage. Edwin and Brenda spent 2 full days making sure there was no bio waste. There were so nice and did a professional and very thorough job. I highly recommend.

I worked with Chrissa, Justin, and the WDR team twice in three months for two separate and unfortunate water damage situations. Chrissa usually handles office calls and scheduling, and her customer service is excellent - always answered calls (which is so important in these situations), scheduled quickly, and kept us posted on all progress. Justin is the site inspector and came by to evaluate the damage and planned repair. He provided estimates within a day, and we were able to get a restoration team on site for full restoration within a day or two (probably sooner if it was an emergency). Lastly, and most importantly, the restoration team was so considerate of my space, lining the floors to protect them, covering the walls to restrict dust, working efficiently, removing all trash and debris, and leaving everything clean. You never want to be in a situation where you have to call WDR, but I would definitely recommend them for a smooth restoration!
