Remodeler reviews in San Mateo, California

Great work done and on time, advised to use their services

Front Street Builders helped me remodel my house to remove and replace an old fireplace and redo my backyard, including a new outdoor kitchen in the garden. They were so helpful and friendly; I’m definitely calling them back when I’m ready to remodel my kitchen and bathroom.

I highly recommend Front Street. I had a large renovation that took over a year. Steve was very involved since Day 1. He had great design ideas, was helpful in providing timelines and set proper expectations. He and his team were great to work with.

Front Street Builders is on our list of trusted and detailed-oriented contractors to work with on our renovations. They are easy to work with, communicative, responsive and great problem solvers. Our projects always look fantastic at the end.

Front Street Builders, you are my superheroes! I can't express enough how much I adore this company and its fantastic work on my outdoor kitchen and entertainment space in the Burlingame and San Francisco Peninsula Bay Area. It's like they waved a magic wand and brought my home to life. Every moment spent in my new outdoor kitchen oasis is filled with joy and excitement and inspired by a lot of cooking and great parties. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail is unmatched. Front Street Builders truly understand the importance of creating spaces that look incredible and function flawlessly. Front Street Builders will exceed your expectations and make your house a home!

We did a major house remodel with Steve Hirsch and Front Street Builders, including our kitchen, a sun room, windows, the exterior, 2 decks, 2/5 baths, painting and hardwood flooring, We could not have been happier. Steve really listened to our vision and executed it, was responsive to questions and issues, and was able to troubleshoot on site, (such as when a wall was opened and things were not as hoped/planned). Steve worked closely with us to design non-traditional window frames, wall cap reveals and baseboards with great attention to quality and detail. He and his team treated our home as if it were his own with regard to making sure not to damage our possessions. We started our project right before the COVID-19 shutdown, which added extra delays, lead-times and product shortages to our project, but Steve worked closely with us to openly communicate and flex to meet our needs. We stayed in the house during the renovation, which added an additional level of stress to Steve and his team, but they were respectful, patient and accommodating. I would highly recommend Front Street Builders without reservation.

Front Street Builders recently completed a home addition project for me and my partner, and we are thrilled with the outcome. Their dedication, attention to detail, and exceptional craftsmanship set them apart. They ensured consistency, integrity, and personalized care throughout the construction process. The team's knowledge and creativity were evident as they seamlessly integrated the new addition into my existing home, so everything looked consistent yet fresh. We now have a spacious and beautiful living area that enhances my home's overall functionality and aesthetic appeal. If you're considering a home addition in the Sherwood, San Francisco Bay Area, Front Street Builders is the company to choose.

We searched on linen for months and met with many builders, but we were struck by Steve’s honesty and experience.
Steve and his dedicated team at Front Street Builders are amazing.
Our outdoor kitchen and entertainment space are the envy of our neighbors! The team’s commitment to quality and Steve’s experience in construction made our project a huge success.

It was a pleasure working with Steve at Front Street Builders.

We have done many house remodels and know from personal experience how important it is to have a very honest GC along with great subs. This recent project was a major outdoor kitchen project in 2022 and from the excellent results, we would definitely hire Steve again.

Everyone on his team was very professional, and their work was top quality. Steve met with us regularly to confirm how everything was going. When we ran into problems, he always had ideas for how to solve or work around them. He clearly cared about the final product, and it shows.

We highly recommend Front Street Builders!

Steve has been in the business for a remarkably long time. His current and relevant SF experience as a General Contractor puts him in a rare category of builders that are expertly skilled in getting your bay area home remodel work done. I am very happy with steve and will be recomending him to all of my friends and family. clean, polite and respecftful team.

Steven Hirsch and his team did a large Bathroom, Bedroom, Closet, and Basement remodel in Burlingame for me and it was great. I can't be more pleased with how the remodel turned out. Our project was very complicated with many details.

His team completed the project within budget and did everything with high quality. What I appreciated with Front Street Builders the most was that when something had to be adjusted, redone, or modified... Steven always cared deeply about "doing the right thing". My wife is really really detailed and Steven's team was able to satisfy her (which is difficult to do).

I can't thank Steve and his team enough for the work they did on our house. We love it.
