Great service and on time. Made a repair to our old furnace to keep it running a couple more years. Seemed to work when they left, but the pilot gave us some trouble that we hadn’t had before. I called and they came right back to fix it... spent an additional hour and no additional charge. Said “they should’ve got it right the first time.” Old fashioned, friendly service that you don’t usually see from businesses these days. Will definitely call again.

Our heater died just a day prior to the coldest week of the past twelve months. McCormack Heating and Air were responsive, courteous and showed up on time. Heating system needed to be completely replaced. Heat was back by the end of the following week!

John McCormack was able to bail us out of quite a predicament:

My mother lives out in Santa Barbara while I live in Texas. During the July 4th weekend of triple temps, John picked up my out of state call at 9pm local time and assisted us with throwing the breaker to the furnace while it blew hot air during the summer heat wave and didn't charge us a dime.

We can't thank you enough for your assistance and we will definitely give you our business with her HVAC needs!

A (new) furnace was moved from a needed closet up into a crawl space. McCormack and company were highly professional throughout. Additional duct work was clearly explained, and I never felt upsold. Scheduling was easy. Now they do my annual work.

Thursday our gas 1970's furnace quit. I called McCormack and he came out Friday and fixed it the same day. Excellent service.

Local A/C companies have been booked solid due to a recent heat wave. When my A/C stopped cooling, I contacted several companies without receiving a response or assistance. I called McCormack, and while they were booked out a few days and couldn't immediately respond to my location, they were extremely helpful by voluntarily offering me referrals to two other local companies that might be able to help me sooner. I was able to contact one of the companies and get someone out the next morning. While I didn't have the opportunity to use their A/C services, I'm deeply grateful to McCormack for their courtesy, professionalism, and friendly customer service, and for that, I give them high marks.

I called to set up a service appointment with John last year, he cancelled that day and never rescheduled. This year the same issue with my system occurred again and they could not come out for over two weeks even after I told them I have an infant and we needed heat. The same issue keeps happening and John would not stand by his installation and charged me each time to repair the unit that should have been under warranty. Crocker Refrigeration came out the next day to do the repair for a far more competitive price. I cannot recommend McCormack HVAC.

McCormack designed and installed a new Heating and Air Conditioning system for Sarah House. John created an economical system that was the best fit for our end-of-life care home. He understood our mission and the HVAC system will keep our residents cool in many hot summers to come. John and his entire team were professional and extremely kind to our residents and staff. I highly recommend them.

My heater stopped working and McCormack Heating & Air Conditioning was one of the first companies I contacted right after the New Years Eve. The owner John, quickly responded to my call. He was very responsive and answered all my questions. He and his team who came out to assess my heater were very professional and gave me options on how to proceed. We did have to replace our heater and while we did that, we decided to add A/C to our house as well. John explained the whole process and answered all my questions. Once, we agreed on the product, timing and price; John for the most part stepped aside and it was Jose and Jesus who worked on the job. They were very prompt, courteous, and professional. I had a baby that was 3 months old and they very considerate with the noise when it came to naps. Even though John was not there onsite for the week long installation, he was always available for questions or concerns. My overall, experience was great and I would definitely recommend McCormack Heating & Air both based on quality of work and price.

If you like paying for services you never receive, then I highly recommend McCormack Heating & Air Conditioning. They came to our house, assessed the problem, sent a crew the next day that had no idea how to fix the problem, and charged us full price for the site visit. We ultimately had to hire another company who knew what they were doing.

McCormack just replaced the heating system and placed a new AC on our family home. Most the work was good. But there remained loose ends, a cap for the Freon tubing cover never got ordered, and ragged tunnel piping remains exposed. The old system pipes were not fully removed for the heater, and they screened them in, saying if we want the old system removed we'd have to pay for it. It was in the original bid to do so. The work men were nice and friendly. Unfortunately the owner did not have good communication skills, refused to return calls during during the job and afterwards. He kept the rebate owed to my elderly parent for a installing energy efficient unit, and did not accurately relay the cost of his subcontractor electrician. The thing is, my advise is if you use this company, that you do not involve any elderly to be in view of John with the communication, coordination if the project, because if he sees he is working with a elder, he will brush them off and mis-charge $. We feel that John does not respect a frail elder that can be easily taken advantage of. It took our elder parent 2 months of letters, calls, and no definitive response from John, on the $1,100 + owed to us, then we subsequently decided to make a report through the BBB (Better Business Bureau), which included all the invoices, email communications, and overall time-line process, and 1 day after John the owner of McCormack received this notice of request for mediation from the BBB, that he then acted to pay funds due to our elderly parent.

This case is now closed, so yes, we respect the workers, but unfortunately the owner lacks integrity, and does not return calls, does not invoice correctly. We were told by his workers he is in Washington State most the time, and unable to be boots on the ground to supervise projects occurring in the Santa Barbara area.

We held good faith with the beginning of the project, and at the end here, feel that anyone that chooses to work with John the owner, needs to know that every step needs careful monitoring, and we certainly feel that our elder parent was taken advantage.
