David Emmons, his foreman Marvin and all the members of the team were a pleasure to work with and created a very beautiful walkway on the side of our home. I am so pleased with the outcome.

Black Diamond Pavers promised high quality work and a team of skilled employees to perform the work.
I hired them and paid a premium based on their promises of premium work.

The crew that black diamond sent to my house was a piece work crew of scab workers that are not employed by black diamond.
I was promised by black diamond that my front yard calstone paver walkways and porch would be competed in 3 days.
In reality, the project took over 30 days amd the work was the worst I have ever seen. The unprofessional crew spent a month in my front yard chain smoking cigarettes, with no foreman on-site and zero guidance or direction.
They literally caused more damage to my property and made more mistakes than I could explain in this brief review.
It has now been 3 months since the project began and the landscape lights and transformer are still not hooked up. I also have low spots in the pavers where water pools every time it rains or anytime I turn the hose on - this is from improper preparation and poor compaction beneath the paver stones.

Black diamond does not employ their own crews of workers. What they do is double the actual
costs of the project (based on the promise of excellent workmanship) and they send a crew of random Home Depot parking lot workers, whom they pay less than market rate for their work.

I got scammed by black diamond, don't make the same mistake.

I will be forced to take them to court in order to recoup money so that I may have my pavers installed by a legitimate contractor.

We worked with David Kingsbury out of Santa Cruz Black Diamond for our project in Aptos. The project was a large driveway demo and installation of pavers as well as removal and expansion of our front patio. We also removed all lawn and replaced with drought proof landscaping and artificial turf. We used blue stone pavers for the patio. In total, the job took about 7 weeks. During this time, David and his crew, led by Suri, were amazing. David kept daily communication with us and the team. We discussed possible issues and solutions with David and Suri throughout the project. They handled the entire job from demolition of our driveway and yard, removal of all concrete and debris, grading, paving, rebuilding our patio wall and setting blue stone tiles with grout.
What I respected most about David was his ability to consult with his Black Diamond team to make sure we were getting the best possible answers to our questions. He was honest and truthful - we never felt like we were getting hustled or cheated. I would highly recommend David, his crew and Black Diamond.

Dan, Marvin and Jorge and did a great job with our ~3000sqft driveway paver project. Very easy to communicate with in all phases of the project. The crews were efficient, clean, respectful, and very attentive to detail and quality. Any issue I identified was remedied quickly and without pushback. Finished two weeks early. I think it was also good value, the end result looks great, far beyond my expectations.

We really appreciated David and Marvin and the great work they did with us. They got the job done quickly and were very responsive to any questions or requests we had. And our front yard looks great!

This summer I had a large paving project in my backyard, including two patios and two walkways. My design specialist was David Kingsbury, and I feel so fortunate to have been able to work with him - he was great!

From the very beginning I found him to be professional, reliable and personable. He listened carefully to my needs before suggesting several options from the vast offerings available. That made it so the process was not so overwhelming, and he understood that it was a big decision, and I never felt any pressure from him. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions, so I made the decision to use Black Diamond.

He was in regular communication with me while we were waiting for the scheduling, and then was on-site regularly and very involved during the project. Early on, we found an unwelcome surprise with my old patio, as is often the case. I was anxious about it, but confident in his abilities. He worked with all parties involved to resolve the issue and come up with a Plan B. The rest of the project continued as planned, and I have my beautiful backyard stonework.

Scott England, our project manager was professional and helpful guiding us through the design details of our project. His crew transformed our tired front yard into a beautiful paved courtyard with parking and a well defined entry path. With no storm drains on our street, managing water flow away from our house was key. Sloping the pavers gently toward installed gravel is just what we needed!

We had a great experience working with David, Jesus and his team. They been nothing but wonderful with making sure everything went on smoothly. The end result: our front yard now looks amazing!! Thank you!!

David Emmons and Marvin absolutely knocked our elevated hillside turf and retaining wall out of the park. The communication from start to finish was spot on. They blended the steps into our existing pavers seamlessly and finished ahead of the original schedule. I will not be looking elsewhere for future outdoor and landscaping projects!

We are beyond pleased with our new front yard, driveway, walkways, and artificial turf Black Diamond Landscape installed for us. We gave our general ideas of what we wanted to David Emmons and he designed an amazing transformation to our yard. His attention to detail was incredible and it is obvious he is an expert at landscape design. All our neighbors have been amazed to see how our yard was transformed into a work of art.

Marvin Zelada and his employees were a pleasure to have at our house. They were incredibly hardworking, kind, and courteous. They are master craftsmen!

Did a great job with our house on king street. Professional, fair and thorough. We had a few tricky elements and complications and they were handled well without hassle. Was a good process throughout. Both Dave and Alfredo were excellent to work with. We are delighted every time we come home.

(Sr. Project Design Specialist) helped me find the right solutions and products for my home that sits on a steep hill while staying within my budget. He explained everything clearly, helped me understand the drainage needed and stayed in touch throughout the long project. Alfredo S. (Project Manager) and his amazing team did an incredible job of working around rain, holidays and my dogs to get the project completed. When demolition revealed a surprise, they communicated the problem clearly, figured out a way to ensure that driveway was stabilized properly and kept costs down. Everything was done perfectly. This team is extremely professional and very talented. There were a total of three projects: replacing a steep driveway and building three retaining walls. I definitely would recommend Black Diamond for your hardscape project. David Emmons did an excellent job helping me with designing the layout for the pavers in my backyard. He made sure that all of my design needs were met and made sure that I understood the entire process for each step of the installation. He was incredibly responsive to any questions or concerns that I had and responded quickly to resolve any issues that came up. Arturo and the guys that helped him did a really good job installing the pavers, they're extremely good at their craft. They did the work fast and it looks beautiful!
