Alicia’s presentation was absolutely incredible—so unique and unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The wrapping was beyond beautiful; I almost didn’t want to open it because it was just that stunning. The white-glove planting made me feel so pampered, like a total queen 👑. And the fig tree itself was gorgeous—full of sweet, ripe fruit I could eat right away. Such a thoughtful, unforgettable experience!

Coucci's organic fruit trees are such a luxurious offering from Alicia's vast treasure chest of her artistic endeavors. While they can certainly be given as a gift, I look forward to having my own tree one day!

1 million times terrible the driver is absolutely the worst they do not care about safety they’re literally cutting with no care for your property 10 out of 10 would not recommend!!!

We hired SM Brothers to redo our front yard, back yard, and driveway - one of the best decisions we've made since moving into our house. Johnny worked with us to help us figure out possibilities for what we wanted and alternatives in case what we wanted wouldn't work out within our budget. We let him know at the start that my wife was due with our child in late February, and he made sure to get everything done by mid-January so that we had time to settle in. He was great about helping us reach a decision that matched our vision, when we weren't quite sure ourselves.

Johnny was an excellent communicator - he kept us up to date with the schedule and what work would happen on which days, which made the whole process really easy on us. If the crew ran into a snag, he made sure to show us the issue and explain options for us to choose from - for example, because of those heavy rains around Christmas, the soil underneath our driveway was basically jelly. He took us out there and had us walk around on it so we could see it for ourselves, and then ran through our options. We ended up trusting Johnny's opinion, which was to dig out an extra ~8 inches of soil to see if there was good soil a little further down, and voila - we found a good base, and Johnny's team was able to build out a solid foundation for the driveway.

We found their price to be slightly higher than other companies in the area, but it was absolutely worth it - you get what you pay for, and we got amazing, high-quality work from the SM Brothers team.

We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! We can't wait to see how everything looks once the plants grow in - some of them are a little sad right now due to us accidentally overwatering them, but they're slowly reviving!

Extremely friendly staff

My wife and I just purchased our 2013 Christmas tree from Armstrong yesterday. I love to have a live tree, and have even gone out to tree farms to cut them down for an ultra fresh one. However, the Armstrong experience yesterday was the easiest I've ever had. The staff knows a lot about the trees (we purchased a Noble for the smell). The trees were only four days old from Oregon, and Armstrong places them in a stand with water right away to keep them fresh. They then wrapped the tree in plastic and tied it to my car for no extra charge. Awesome. Highly recommend this place.

No service!!! no one likes to help! the plants all die, I have purchased 10 plants not 1 survived! I don't buy them there now anymore! I can't believe that no one wants to help you when you go there. It must be a employee shortage and I don't even think they care about these reviews

The reviews are correct regarding the VERY POOR customer service whether you call or come into the nursery in Santa Monica.
What is odd is you see a lot of staff people when you are at the nursery, but many are idling chatting among themselves, or walking around with a blank look, and no one is asking if you need help. The customer has to aggressively interrupt or chase down a staff person.
Perhaps being an employee-owner means one just walks around and does not service.
Today, I called about an email Armstrong had sent me regarding miniature spring veggies such as mixed color mini bell peppers. I just wanted to know if this Santa Monica location had received them before I drive over in the morning. After being on hold for almost 20min, a voice hollered “can you hold?” So I replied I had been holding for 20 min, he then said to hold “a minute”, but after another 10 min I got disconnected!!
The reason Armstrong is still in business is because it lacks local competition for LA westside residents, as other Santa Monica nurseries are too far, and Home Depot is way over the freeway. Hence, Armstrong could not care less!
No way I would attempt a landscaping project with Armstrong Gardens!!

The service and selection here are outstanding. Paris was incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this nursery to others.
