I noticed that ONLY THIS landscaping company had employees who not only enjoyed their work, they also demonstrated the B-E-S-T teamwork in getting the project done BEFORE the timeline! Tigran ALWAYS kept his word and ALWAYS returned my calls, text messages and emails right away.

UNLIKE the multiple (so-called seasoned & argumentative) landscapers in the business that I have contracted over the years, Tigran is honest and earnest. He genuinely stands ABOVE THE REST! In fact, there is ABSOLUTELY NO comparison! Tigran and his company are truly a breath of fresh air because in the past I have had "many" negative experiences with other landscaping companies not returning my calls and holding out on my bid waiting for a higher one to come in.

Some landscaping companies are so lazy that they want photos and design plans BEFORE they come out whereas Tigran schedules an appointment right away and he is actually interested and SUPPORTIVE in what I would like landscaped. I "lost" 2 copies of my design plans from landscaping companies who took photos and wanted my plans for a bid and I never received a bid nor did they ever return my plans. In fact, they wasted my time on appointments that never produced a bid!

The landscape designer's plan for the exterior part of my home was like an architect that predominately designs the interior part of a home. My investment in a design plan produced the blueprint that Tigran needed to assist me in making my dream come true. By updating my landscaping, I have also greatly improved my curbside appeal which will ALWAYS add value to my home.

I was so happy with Applewood Landscaping that after the 1st phase was completed, I immediately became a repeat customer contracting with Tigran again for the 2nd phase! Thank you Tigran! I will always be very grateful and appreciative with the project well done!!!

Applewood really is the best landscape company to work with. Tigran, does a fine job communicating during each phase of the project. Every job big or small never goes exactly according to plan because no two projects are the same. Cool thing about landscaping is that things can always be fixed or adjusted if it's not exactly how I wanted it. Whenever there was something I didn't like I told Tigran about it and he would have his team adjust it as needed. I see people get so upset if a piece of material or paver is crooked or isn't quite right and they freak out. There's no need for that because that's how all construction jobs go and it can be fixed if it's addressed and then we can all move on and have an amazing experience during the different phases of construction. Tigran, showed exceptional communication, and his TEAM! WOW watch his crew work for a day and you will see they're extremely skilled at what they do. I highly recommend Applewood!

I compete with Applewood from time to time for contracts in the Bay and although I do not want to give up a project to a competitor, I will say that I’m never disappointed when I hear that a potential customer decided to use Applewood over us. They’re one of the few companies that I will recommend and encourage others to hire. I don’t know them directly, but I stand behind the landscape installs we do and I would do the same for Applewood. In fact, I have been called many times over to fix other contractors installs, (this is a continuous problem unfortunately) as I’m sure Applewood has too, but I have never once been summoned to fix an Applewood project in all the years they’ve been around. We’ve become more focused on artificial turf installs nowadays, and even with being a specialist in the craft, I still admire other contractors projects.
Keep up the good work and progress Applewood.

Way overpriced, I can't believe it. Don't bother, the estimate was 2x what everyone else was offering

Tigran and his company set the bar for what I would have otherwise considered a very flaky landscape industry here in the bay area. When I moved here two years ago and started having design clients that needed my designs implemented, finding a reputable company that would do what they said they would do when they said they were going to do it was a hard thing to find. Two years later and I'm happy to have Applewood in my arsenal of qualified landscape installers to refer to my clients.

Tigran takes care of business. Really appreciate how professional he is

We had a full overhaul of both yards completed by Applewood in September. Tigran was always responsive and easy to work with. We first started the process of discussing our ideas back in the Spring, and worked with his landscape designer who created a beautifully-detailed design for both yards.

We had several other landscapers come to look at our design and provide estimates (I highly recommend doing this. I also recommend going through this process in the Spring, rather than Summer when many landscapers are booked). Tigran's estimate was around average, so we believe that his pricing is fair and in line with the competition.

The work started in September and was finished in about 2 weeks. Tigran showed up one day with an excavator and several loaders, and about 20 employees, who were all respectful, professional, and pleasant to work with throughout the process.

The hardscaping was excellent. We chose Calstone Mission pavers for both yards and a new driveway. Our design included curved plant areas in the front, and the stone-cutting and overall masonry work was outstanding. We literally get compliments from random passers-by almost daily.

Applewood custom-built a large pergola on the back patio, and it looks fantastic. They also installed drip irrigation and gave us underground drainage.

We had all new plants and trees installed. The only real negative was that I think the workers were rushed to plant in both yards, and many of the plants were not in the correct place. We were a little disappointed that the plant areas did not look like the original design. Eventually, the plants were dug up and moved.

There were some moments where we felt that there could have been more communication or more supervision of the large crew. There were also some other issues, with the drainage, e.g., that Tigran responded to immediately and came to fix. I appreciate that he was on top of these things and also checked in after everything was fixed, in order to make sure that we are happy customers. We do plan to contact Tigran again for future projects.

After getting many quotes and talking to other companies to work on my backyard, I decided to go with Applewood. Tigran was very personable and understanding and had many ideas to fix the issues we were dealing with. We replaced all of the grass, along with getting an underground drain and dry pits.

His crew came on time and got started quickly. It was originally quoted to take a week, but within two days most of the work was done. Tigran made more suggestions for our side yard and we installed DG for a dog run and he also planted a couple of trees and our backyard looks great! Everything was done on time with no issues. Would highly recommend them
