Constraction reviews in Sebastopol, California

Sustainable Living Builders came withing 24 hours in January to tarp my roof. Due to winds, they had to come out many times to retarp and add tarps to my roof. When we had a window without rain, seven workers came and my roof was reshingled within days.
They always responded to calls and questions within hours. The crew cleaned up all debris.
Truly professional.

We chose Sustainable Living Builders Inc (SLB) to install a solar system on our historic home, which also required replacing the worn-out roofing with a new roof and gutter/soffit. we are very pleased on all levels. The company repeatedly went out of its way to provide detailed information on the complex issues involved, handled all city permitting for our historic district, outlined multiple options at varying prices, and always followed up on questions or their own promises. Throughout the process, I felt the prices were fair and highly competitive with other vendors, who provided far less help in planning a system. SLB has its own roofing division and that crew was large, worked very hard and was diligent about using the best materials and methods. The solar side was also very good, with expert electricians who really worked with us to provide a system that is 1) safe, 2) flexible, and 3) fits the aesthetic character of our home. The only minor drawbacks were the timing -- the project started a little late due to supply chain issues, and took a bit longer than expected, largely because of needed repairs on our roof. And there were minor miscommunications about materials But I can't hold those things solely against SLB. I wholeheartedly recommend SLB to any homeowner considering solar.

SLB did a complete roof and gutter replacement on my home. I was very happy with the results and the entire experience. They answered all my questions, communicated very well, and didn't seem to mind the fact that I spent a great deal of time up on the roof with them, observing their work and pointing out small details that needed addressing. I was very impressed with the quality of the workmanship. Their bid was not the lowest, and it was far from the most expensive. I am left with the feeling that I made a very wise decision when I chose SLB.

Sustainable Living Builders of Santa Rosa, CA is the Epitome of Solar Installation Contractors because of their promptness to physical survey the installation site, and then preparing a very professional & detailed proposal that covered all phases, financial steps & offering optional proposals for my home Solar System.

Their team members were well schooled in their tasks & their display of decorum is a reflection of the integrity of SLB & their strong leadership.

Thank you very much.

Myron

Jaime and Juan were great to work with. They both possess the perfect amount of professionalism, knowledge and friendliness. They patiently answered all of my questions, before, during and after the job and were always quick to respond back whenever I reached out to them.

The crew that came out to do the work was supervised by Ramon who could not have been nicer. He and his team worked very hard throughout the project. When we discovered we needed to have some additional work done due to some dry rot, they quickly took on the extra work and made the necessary repairs.

If you're looking for an honest company, filled with kind and caring employees, I strongly recommend you contact Sustainable Living Builder Inc.

SLB re-roofed our little house, and they did what they said they would do, came when they said they would come, and charged what the estimate said they would charge. Very satisfied with the work.

Staff are uniformly friendly, well-spoken and safety conscious. They gave us clear instructions about getting ready for the work, very helpful. They were careful about our garden and thorough in clean-up, including some things I figured I would have to do myself.

They were not the lowest bid we received but did include things I hadn't thought to ask for, so the slight cost difference was a good value.

We are very satisfied with Sustainable Living Builders, we will use them again in future work, and highly recommend them to others.

Sustainable Living Builders is an excellent roofing company! Juan, Jaime and Eloy , with the whole team are professional, always willing to help. They did work for many of my customers and it is a relief for me to know that they will take great care of the clients I refer to them!

Great work by sustainable living builders and Forman Jose did an excellent job along with his crew. Highly recommended

SLB did a great job installing a new roof and solar panels at our house at The Sea Ranch. They worked well with us and the HOA. Highly professional work, great communication. We highly recommend.

We needed a roofer who could remove and reinstall our existing solar panels. Many roofers would not touch the panels or charged a premium to do so. SLB came in at a reasonable price for new roof, gutters and dealing with the solar. I wish we had found them before we were in contract with a different solar provider and we could have used them for the whole job. The roof is sturdier than before with the added OSB and the upstairs is cooler, thanks to the venting system and cool roof compliant shingles. Everyone was nice, too.

Sustainable Builders removed my old roofing & installed a new one prior to my solar panels installation. It was a difficult job as I live on a narrow, winding hilly road with many trees & lines overhead. They had to do everything by hand. They did a great job in 4 days and my new roof is beautiful. The workers were experienced and accommodating. At the end they cleaned everything up and removed all debris. The company was very responsive to my concerns and needs. The price was very reasonable. I can recommend them highly. All materials were the latest and best available.

Working with Sustainable Living Builders has been a pleasure. Jaime and his team did terrific work for me - it took a few weeks to get on their schedule, but they helped me through the entire process, making sure I got the service and support I needed. I had a new roof installed, plus a solar array and battery backup, and SLB made sure all the paperwork with PGE was filed correctly. And when I had a minor issue with my Tesla Powerwall, Jaime himself came to my house to get me back up and running. (The system had been running fine, it was just I couldn't monitor it on the Tesla app, but they fixed that.) Side note: with my solar array, my power bills have been ZERO for July and August - in fact, I even have a $200 credit going into the fall. Can't recommend Sustainable Living Builders highly enough!

When a redwood branch fell through our roof, Sustainable Living Builders was there to help. Contacted in the morning, SLB had a team of professionals out to tarp our roof that very afternoon. All the SLB team members were professional and polite. They did a fantastic job, and now our roof is protected from the coming rains. Great work, SLB!

SLB team did a great job installing a new roof for us, just within 2.5 days. Also midway they noticed our old roof can benefit from plywood, which they communicated with us and after confirmation installed the plywood within few hours. Thank you all.

Sustainable Living Builders installed a beautiful new roof for me. Also they put on new gutters with the gutter guards. My roof was a project it was the original roof so they had to put plywood on it. They also fixed some dry rot on my chimney. I’am very happy with the job these guys did. They were fast friendly and very clean. I would highly recommend them for your roofing needs!🙂🏠

Sustainable Living Builders (SLB) replaced eight, 20+ year old Velux skylights on our home. They are professional, true to their word and competitively priced. Jose and Ramon were fantastic and communicated the information we needed and gladly answered our many questions.

The team at Sustainable Living Builders replaced my roof at a fair price. I appreciated the daily reports on the progress of the work, complete with photos. From start to finish, the entire team provided impressive attention to detail and conscientious follow-through.

SLB did a great job on our roof and gutters! Everything looks fantastic…better than I expected. They were on time, within budget and provided daily updates. The communication was excellent. Thanks to Cayden, Daniel, Jose, Juan , Juan Pablo and Edgardo. I hope I didn’t leave anyone out and if so my apologies. Everyone we dealt with was excellent.

We have a 70+ year old home with a wood shake roof and layers of shingles (with the last layer put on nearly 30 years ago) that needed replacement including a full tear down and new plywood so that we could put on solar in the future. SLB provided a very competitive quote for the roof and gutter replacement. Their team (led by Ramon and Daniel) was excellent - professional, thorough, communicative, and very responsive to our requests and needs. They were also willing to pivot when we realized we needed to do some work we hadn't planned for (a roof clean-up tied to rats in the attic and insulation) and thorough in addressing punch-list issues and items afterwards. Really appreciated working with them and the entire experience and would recommend them without reservation!

I had begun to abandon hope of getting my roof replaced before State Farm cancelled my home owners insurance. But then I found Sustainable Living Builders. They got the job done with professionalism and were able to accommodate removal and re-installation for my solar panels which seemed daunting to other contractors. The work was done on time and within budget. I will write another positive review after it starts raining!

These guys are amazing. Just had them install a new roof and next they are installing solar panels. They are Detailed, competitively priced, provided daily detailed updates and completed our roof on schedule. I would recommend them to anyone that needs a new roof or solar!
