Solar Energy Company reviews in Selma, California
-
Been waiting over 4 months since panels were installed to connect. Company gives you zero information. Now making double payments for loan and electric bill. They claim they will reimburse but nothing so far (been two months). You text back and forth with nothing but excuses!!!! Might be okay if they had customer service. Who knows if these plan even work!!! Guess I’ll update if it ever get turned on.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Terrible customer service after they receive their payment for the installation.
They aren't refunding me for damage I had to pay out of pocket to stop water leaking into my home because of heavy rains.
In addition, the solar was installed but was not commissioned (generating electricity) so I was still being charged the monthly fee for the solar, plus my electricity consumption. The company denied to reimburse me for the several months that my panels were not generating electricity. Even one of their employees stated that they should have reimbursed me for those months where it was not generating electricity. -
I was unlucky to deal with a very dishonest team. They rush to installed panels it’s now 5 months and it’s not yet activated. No documents was approve by the county and state but they went ahead and installed. I got a notice of penalties to pay and notified them still no one is working on my case. Michael Cornett lied about everything and now he don’t pick calls or reply to text message to guide me. There are so many sollar companies out there this should be your last option.

The Core Energy Group solar installation team arrived at 8:00 AM, installed our solar panels, cleaned up and were gone by 2:00 PM!
We were super impressed with the team's professionalism, their friendliness and their speed. They obviously enjoyed working together to put up the panels. That tells me a lot about the company and the team leader, Jason. They represented Core Energy well.
The panels are already producing electricity which is fun to watch on the app we have to monitor them. It could be a couple of months before FPL completes all their inspections, so I can't review how that process worked, but so far, we are pleased. -
The installation crew was excellent. They were fast, friendly, and respectful of everything. The guy that came for the final Inspection was very competent as well. The only thing was that it took 2 months in between. It will be nice to see what difference it makes on the bill when it comes.

This is my second review prompt from this organization. I just got word that the installation isn't even finished yet. By the time they finish, which is supposed to be in "2 to 3 months", the installation will be 7 -8 months overdue.
I would never in a million years recommend this group to anyone. From the installers to the sales representative, their communication was universally terrible. Getting information from them was like pulling teeth. They showed up at times when we told them we would absolutely not be available to let them in (for example, when I was giving a critical work presentation). Messages we left would go unanswered. We still don't have any information about our financing status, which was revoked because the installation was so overdue. This has been a nightmare and I wish we had chosen someone (anyone) else for the project. -
I recently had my solar installation done by CØRE, and I couldn't be happier with the progress so far. The majority of the installation is complete, and I'm eagerly awaiting the final approval from the city and utility. The team at CØRE has been professional, efficient, and knowledgeable throughout the process. I appreciate their attention to detail and the high quality of their work.

Can hardly even give 1 star...how does anyone get a service call? I have been waiting 8 weeks now for someone to come out. Only half of our panels have worked for at least 6 months. Our True up bill was incredibly high.
We just want someone to come out. So disappointing. Ready to hire a lawyer. I DO NOT recommend this company -
we got our panels 3 months ago. the crew that came out was very kind and professional I would recommend to anyone of my family and friends. They did take about 2 months for them to get turned on. However that’s because the the utility company has been dragging their feet to come get the interconnection. The only bad reviews I really see with Core is that they take a while to turn on however, that’s on utility company not Core.

Installers arrived on schedule explained what they were going to do asking if I had any questions told me how long it was going to take finished on time. Very courteous group of guys did their jobs well. Everything looked great cleaned up afterwards. I am very happy with the work that was done.

We had install a month ago and have had no communication with our rep on when PTO inspection would be. Or how long we should anticipate before our panels are operating. I’ve texted the rep multiple times with no acknowledgment. Install was at least quick and timely. But I’m disappointed with the lack of communication. Id like to have the panels running before we have to pay a bill for the panels and Edison at the same time. Right now we’re sitting around not knowing when anything is going to be done.
Update 12/20
STILL no word on when our system will operable. Found out they also installed too close to our AC unit so if we ever need a new unit installed or ours repaired they can’t because the panels are too close. Our first finance charge comes out this week AND we still have to pay an electric bill so now we’re stuck with two bills a system that’s not running. A rep who doesn’t respond and a call center that’s down because it’s outsourced. No one is returning my email and I have no way to contact this company. I am UPSET.
Update 2/14
System was PTO about two/three weeks ago. No one ever confirmed the system was on and I as the home owner did not flip and switches or handles like the video I was sent explained to do. I did speak with the owner of the company and he was very apologetic about the entire duration of my project and the issues I’ve had. I hope he takes our conversation and puts it to use in implementing a better communication process between his company and their customers. I am still waiting to see a refund processed for my payment that was withdrawn while I was also paying for Edison and my system was not yet PTO. Once I see a refund for the payment from before the system was operating then I will say this company has done the work to make my experience better. -
Install was professional and polite. They were on time per the appointment. All workers maintained positive attitudes and were focused on completing the job efficiently. They also answered any question I asked with a high level of knowledge. The workers also cleaned up well after themselves. The individual who entered my house for the attic was polite and appreciative.

Install crew was quick and efficient. They were very nice and informative all throughout the install. Would highly recommend their services for your solar needs!
They made sure my wife was up to date on how to use the solar app and cleaned up after the install. -
Installation of the panels themselves was quick. Team was good. But I've been waiting for a battery installation for months and all I get is "we're waiting". This contract is for 25 years and support is just not there. Beware before signing with these people.
Update: The sales person, Chris Ballard, gave me a call last week saying he called you guys confirming that the battery was to be included in the installation. Chris works at Rise Energy, for those who may come across this. Ensure they put every piece of equipment sold to you on the installation agreement that you sign to avoid a situation such as this. Patiently waiting for some kind of confirmation.
Update 10/24: Still nothing. Sales guy doesn't even respond to me anymore. -
My installers were amazing today. Very professional, nice and got the job done in a timely manner. They have been the best part of this process so far.
I am still waiting for my system to be turned on and my system was installed in Sept 2022. Please Core, have my system turned on! -
This company is the absoulte worst. I purchased solar panels in the California (Bay Area) last year and they are not meeting the performance guarantees. I have been trying to get a hold of someone since February 2023 and all I get is an automated text message saying they are looking into it and they are short on staff. To top it all of they didn't even complete the install so I am paying for a system that isn't complete and doesn't generate electricity like I was promised. I would highly recommend staying away from this company. Almost seems like a scam to me.

Update: I’m having some issues contacting the office in terms of getting my PTO application submitted to Duke Energy. I was told the utility department was working on submitting (over a week ago), I’m not really a fan of being told one thing via text (there is no formal number to call) and nothing is happening (I called Duke to verify a submission). I have given the team some time to get this sorted but nothing has been done. While the service and installation was great, the last piece which you would think is the easiest area to get an easy win has been like pulling teeth.
First review: The team was very efficient and we’re quick installing the solar panels. Everyone was very professional and were able to give me the answers I had to my questions. -
First off I’d love to say the install looks amazing, I don’t think anyone could have installed them better than these guys no doubt. They look straighter than most of my neighborhoods work. Another thing is that Sean and his team are very professional, these guys made sure to inform me on what things are and how my system works. Upon the final installation they took the time to give me personal drone shots of my home which I think is really cool and very nice to have, along with a full walk through of their work which I found very nice. This crew is definitely one of a kind and very hard workers. I’d recommend this team works on anyone’s project.

We have tried to be patient. Susie was the lady that sold our panels to us and was very kind to us during the process. We had Covid on the day they sold us our panels. Susie was brave to walk into a house with 2 people who had Covid. It took 8 months for our solar panels to turn on. We understood it was a process. Once our panels were up and running for the first few months we recognized how low our production was. Our panels are not producing what they promised.
We wish there was more support and communication. We have had 2 panels producing low energy because the installers put them behind trees. We had 2 other panels showing NC since install. Since we requested help these last few weeks, it looks like someone did attempt to help us, as we noticed our module looked different on the app. We now have 1 panel that shows NC. Not only did it take days to communicate our needs, no one showed up for the time they scheduled a technician to take a look at our panels and move them as discussed on the customer service text support.
We have attempted to contact customer service since Susie promised that maintenance would be covered for free for life. She was helpful and gave us Cole and Israel’s phone numbers. I understand they may be extremely busy handling other customer complaints and are bombarded with customer calls with similar issues.
Customer service said they would charge us $500 to move our panels that are blocked by trees. We were shocked about the $500 request when we weren’t the ones who requested for the installers to put panels behind trees. I spoke to Israel yesterday who was so kind to waive the fee to relocate our panels. On the day of our scheduled visit from 8am-11am today, no one showed up. Tried texting customer service, but they are closed on weekends. There is so much more to share about our experience with customer service, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt since this seems to be a newer solar company.
The people who installed our panels didn’t seem professional either, but we kept our mouths shut for this long hoping that we made the right decision with $60k solar panels. We are beginning to think we got scammed. We are planning on seeking legal guidance if we continue to receive little to no support. We have been very trusting with this company and have tried our best to stay as optimistic as we can throughout this frustrating process.
We wanted so badly to be the happy customers that would be able to put a positive review in the mix of all the negative reviews that we read on Facebook. But we are experiencing the exact nightmare that everyone else has experienced.
Update: the Tuesday after the Saturday that they didn’t show, we had 2 Core Energy staff show and actually looked extremely professional. Much better than the first batch. Seems like they improved their technicians. They did great! Just wish we knew in advance that they would show up that day. Luckily, we were home. They even wore actual core energy group shirts. 1 panel so far is still at 0 since they came to fix our panels. We are still waiting to get someone to help us with the 1 panel that has been at 0. It’s 12/19/2023 and the panel is at 0.
If you made it this far through reading our experience, thank you for your time. -
The members of the Core company that installed my solar were professional, polite, and efficient. They did a great job and were very respectful of my property. I am pleased with the job that they did and would recommend them to family and friends. The electrician, Tony Luna, was outstanding. He was very thorough and explained everything that I was curious about. His work ethic is impressive.

Great overall company. I am happy with the panels that have been installed. It did take some time to get all permits and inspections passed with our city and utility company. Overall, I have had a great experience with the help of great customer service. I would highly recommend to others.
