Oakmont Builders handled our entire home construction project and delivered high-quality craftsmanship on schedule.

After last year's rainy winter I discovered that the 30-year-old masonite shiplap siding that surrounds the upper story on my house was failing and needed to be replaced. This was an enormous blow. Research led me to the James Hardie cement board product. The Hardie website listed some recommended installers and I interviewed four or five contractors. I have a friend who has built houses in Montana and he gave me a list of things that are important for installation and questions I should ask of the contractors. I should add that have done most of my own work on my house and am a perfectionist. Bill from Oakmont Builders came out to estimate the job and I found him to know the Hardie product inside and out. He had answers for all my questions, solutions for potential problems, put my mind at ease, and I hired him for my project. He and his crew did an impeccable job, on time, and there were no glitches. The crew members were proud of their work and most took photos when it was done. I highly recommend Oakmont and gladly give them 5-stars.

We live in a wildland interface area in the San Gabriel Valley in a 1 1/2 story house with eves all around, which are vulnerable to sparks during a fire. We chose Oakmont Builders to apply Firefree 88 Fire Resistant Paint to our eaves. Three years later, the paint looks good, with no peeling or fading. Oakmont's Bill Kennally supervised the job and was very consciencious about the process from start to finish. His crew was professional, finished on time and cleaned up after the work was done. I highly recommend Oakmont if you are considering Firefree 88 paint or Hardiplank siding. Oakmont has been installing Hardiplank for years and are the experts in hardening your home from fire.

Bill is the best! When we had to remove the original wood siding from our family home built in 1927, Bill worked with us to preserve the look and charm of the old frame house with Hardie board. It was a long journey with the local historical society, rain storms, and other challenges that come with an older home. Despite their busy schedule they stayed with us and I am very happy with the results.

Oakmont was phenomenal for a tub replacement we needed done. We had a crack in our insert that created a leak. After removal, we realized it had spread to the studs and drywall. They had all the demo done in one day, and were back a week later to finish it up after everything had dried. New insert in, new faucet and piping (mating with some very old & difficult pipes), drywall and paint finished, and you'd never know it was just repaired. Looks & works great, and nice to have a new shower/tub to use now. Professional all the way around! Wouldn't hesitate to to use them for any job you have!

Bill and Oakmont Builders did exceptional work dealing with my poorly flipped 1903 home. We didn't know what to expect under the existing stucco and were astounded to find multiple layers of siding. He took this in stride, and worked with us to expand the scope of the project to reframe certain areas of the home, wrapping it in new plywood and James Hardie fiber cement siding products. Bill was a joy the entire time, and although we had a larger project than we started with, he was positive the entire time. Easily the best contractor I've worked with, given his expertise in the field and transparent communication.

I have used Jimmy Clegg, and Oakmont Builders on several occasions, and they are exceptional! Jimmy has not only done great work, but has also problem solved on many an occasion. Not only do I recommend Jimmy and his 5 star company, but I have already introduced him to several colleagues and they feel the same way as I do! Bill at Oakmont Builders/SoCal Siding is the most professional, experienced and honest contractor we've ever hired. We had terrible experiences with contractors in the past so I was determined to do my homework when hiring a siding contractor. After doing my homework, Bill stood out. He is a premier Hardie contractor (he is showcased in a Hardie video). We thought there would be a premium to his bid and we were ready to pay a premium for higher quality. But his bid turned out lower than others.

Bill and the Oakmont Builders/SoCal Siding crew were communicative about the process, organized, courteous and experts at siding. They were always on time and honest throughout the process, and there were never any surprises along the way. Their input was valuable and the work product was excellent.

You never hear about people being happy with their general contractors but we were 110% satisfied with Oakmont Builders/SoCal Siding. I just wish I had other projects for them because they were a pleasure to work with. Bill is like the extended family member you wish you had watching over your project, he made sure the project was completed correctly and you were treated fairly.

Bill and the team at Oakmont did a great Job on our Newport Beach Home. The process was easy, on time, on price and on point. Oakmont completed an extensive renovation for me on a 1946 home, and the work Jimmy and his team provided was exceptional from start to finish, including more than one innovative and cost-effective solution to address some surprise issues that arose due to the age of the home.

If I could give Oakmont Builders six stars, I would! I cannot say enough good things about Bill and his team. They beautifully installed James Hardie siding on my house and we are as pleased with the work as we are thrilled to find an honest, reliable contractor who has as much as an eye for detail as we do. We are thrilled with our new siding, doors and windows and with the work of Bill, Jesus, Alex and the team at Oakmont builders. As we invited bids for our job, Bill's work ethic and attention to meeting our needs really came through. Our whole house siding project had a few complications and surprises that are to be expected with a large project. Bill helped us navigate each one of them with his contacts, his vast experience and patience and his capable team. He was available and attentive throughout and the project was completed as agreed.

We'd been thinking about replacing the board and batten wood siding on the front of our house with fiber cement because of where we live in a very high fire hazard area that backs up to a canyon. The fires in January were the final motivation for us to move forward with getting it done.

We found Oakmont Builders through James Hardie's Elite Preferred Contractors Program. From the moment we connected with Bill about the scope of our job - replacing the wood siding and boxing in all of the open eaves around our house with fiber cement - we felt at ease with his knowledge, transparency, and down-to-earth demeanor. Across the entire job, he was always communicative and responsive to any questions that we had.

Oakmont Builder's entire operation is very organized, which I greatly appreciated. We ended up having his crew also replace four windows and add new insulation wherever the siding was being replaced. As soon as the windows delivered, Bill scheduled his team to commence demo.

Permits were pulled before the job started. Bill's scaffolding team was extremely careful with their installation. Oakmont's crew arrived on time every morning and were very professional and courteous across the two and a half weeks they worked on our home. Their communication was excellent. Their workmanship was beyond incredible. Everyone on the team is very detail oriented, and it shows across the entire installation. They took photos of our home before they started the work, so they could match the batten trim placement to what we'd originally had when they got to that point. We really appreciated how much care they gave to every aspect of the job.

Our boxed-in eaves look amazing and bring us a huge peace of mind that we've eliminated a place for embers to smolder. We couldn't be happier with how well everything turned out and how quickly Bill and his team were able to complete the work. We would definitely hire Oakmont again and highly recommend them to anyone who's looking to protect their home with fiber cement siding. The final results are more than worth it.
