Carlos came out and set up our panel to have a generator override switch, and installed an outlet for our generator to plug into. He honored his quote, did clean work, showed me how to turn the panel over to generator power from the grid.
He also wrote out some other work we want to have done in the future. Great guy, clean high quality work with integrity. It's already saved us 3x from power outages!

I called this company 4 times requesting an estimate for a whole house standby generator. I never heard back. I even asked to please return my phone call if they were too busy....not any reply. Not a good way way to run a business.

I had a Generac generator and transfer switch installed by an electrician who used to live in Simi. The power never went out so it never came on. After realizing it wasn't doing the self-test, I took a look and saw it had a red and yellow light where it should have been green. I saw an ad for GenStar Power Systems and spoke with Steve Poore, the owner. Steve is fabulous to work with. He came over quickly with one of his electricians to see what the problem was. After a thorough exam, it was decided that the transfer switch was not wired correctly so Steve brought in Walt who spent about 2 hours rewiring the switch and testing. The power went off 2 days ago and the generator came on within seconds and the whole house powered up within a couple of minutes.

I can't over emphasize how great it is to work with Steve and his electricians. They are knowledgeable, efficient, and fair priced.

This review is two and a half years late, but better late than never. I already knew which model Generac I wanted and Steve from Genstar set the wheels in motion. All the subcontractors needed to complete the installation process were professional, knowledgeable and on time. Quality materials were used and before I knew it, I had a functioning generator. I couldn’t be happier.
