Reviews of local pros in Soquel, California

The team arrived promptly at 8am Thursday morning (5/18). They worked together solidly until 4pm. They were very amiable with each other and with me, but not noisy. They returned at 8am on Friday, and finished off the job by lunch time. I have one acre of landscaping, and much of it consists of large, fully grown trees. The team leader, Danny, was an excellent manager.

Great work, efficient and precise. Thanks for
coming so quickly before the big winds hit. 👍🏼

We used Davey Tree's services on our property to remove over 40 trees burned in the CZU Lightening Complex fire. Travis Evans, the district manager for our area and a licensed arborist, provided us with an excellent evaluation of the trees on our property, recommending those to be removed and leaving others to recover. Our project was scheduled promptly and the crew did a thorough and professional job over a period of several days, all at reasonable cost. Travis kept us apprised daily of the work completed and personally followed up with us on the property at the end of the project to be sure we were satisfied. We were very pleased with Davey Tree's work and would highly recommend them to others.

TJ was great, checked out the project, and got the crew out the following week! He also gave me a bid for other work down the road, which I will do after we get through some other projects. The crew was friendly, efficient, responsive and made sure everything was cleaned up after the job was finished. I would definitely use Davey Tree services again.

We are so happy we called Davey to help with our tree work! They have been super professional and responsive, and their crew did really beautiful work on an olive, apple, and alder tree that all needed a lot of love. They also helped me decide what to do about a beloved plum tree in our front yard, patiently teaching me about the various options of keeping vs removing.

We recently had a landscaper come by as we plan to convert the lawn into low water use landscaping, and they asked me who trimmed our trees since they could see it was such a good job.

If you are in need of tree service, I'd definitely recommend Davey in Soquel.

Davey did another perfect trim of a convoluted difficult willow. I couldn’t ask for more professional, efficient work and an excellent job cleaning up. The tree thanks you as well.

Today 7/9/24 Davey tree came up to find out how to get to a huge eucalyptus tree where I live on Branciforte drive. They couldn't have been more kind and explained what they would be doing once they started cutting..When we walked down the hill, I had 4 greenwaste cans that I was beginning to take down to the road and they brought them down for me!!! What sweethearts..Even though they are contracted out by PG&E I would call on Davey Tree for personal tree work..Thank you George and the entire crew for being such great guys..To all of you who work for Davey, please be safe. You have a very dangerous job.. Thanks again..

Davey Tree removed two oaks from our property after they fell on our joining fence and took out our carport. We worked with TJ and he provided us a speedy and fair quote, clarity about what to expect and a short turn-around-time to start/complete the job. The day of service, these guys were on time, and worked together like a well oiled machine! Extremely impressive to watch them work safely and effectively! We opted to keep the wood for fuel, and they stacked it up in manageable rounds for us. They even blew away all the debris leaving the area tidy. Very thankful for their work but also they were responsive during a time when tree services were completely inundated in our area! Absolutely recommend and will use Davey again in the future!

Dec 2024, review. Jeremy with Davey Tree came through for us once again! We have hired them for semi-annual tree service on our mobile home park for the last 15 years and they do not disappoint. The crew is always on time, well organized, professional and reasonable priced. If you are looking for a great tree service in our area, I would highly recommend calling Jeremy Nama at Davey Tree in Soquel. .

The experts at Davey Tree are amazing. From our sales agent, Brandon Barnes, to the crews we have worked with on two occasions, all of our interactions have stood out in terms of professionalism, work ethic, efficiency, expertise, friendliness, and follow-up. I have had some unfortunate experiences, so I do know the difference. You can trust your special trees to The Davey Tree Expert Company.

Excellent Service, on time and reasonable. I have used Davey Tree Expert Co. for a number of tree issues over the recent years on this property, and they have come through every time.

JT is very professional and the crew did a great job. They were respectful of property, cleaned up after.

Davey Tree arborists are the absolute best, most knowledgeable, courteous, and reliable! It was a great pleasure working with Davey Tree. They arrived on time, did exactly what they promised and cleaned everything up nicely! I can not recommend them more....Go with Davey if you want the job done right the first time.

They came to trim the trees near our PG&E pole on our property yesterday, August 5th in Santa Maria. It was horrible from start to finish. And whoever drives, needs to not drive anymore. We own a large property, almost 11 acres, so our private driveway is pretty long. You should one drive 5mph as it’s a private gravel driveway. They came flying in probably 45mph. Ruining our driveway. If my fiancé would’ve been outside walking our dog they would’ve for sure gotten hit or run over. Our electric company, PG&E, texted us beforehand and told us they would be removing a very large tree that was dead near our power pole and would be removing a large branch on another tree that was growing around the pole. PGE told us they would take down the dead tree to the height of our barbed wire fence. They also said that the tree company would haul away their mess.

They did none of this. The dead tree is still there. All they did was trim off some of the dead branches. And they barely trimmed the live tree branch on the other tree that was growing towards the pole (so they have an excuse to come back and say they have to trim it again and charge PG&E more money) and they left a giant mess. The people that came from Davey’s Tree Company even tried to get my fiancé to pay extra, even though PG&E had already paid them, just for them to do the job they were supposed to do. They left without doing the job they were supposed to do. They did about 25% of the work, and I’m sure they still charged PG&E for the full job. When my fiancé tried bringing some things to their attention, then all the sudden they acted like they don’t speak English at all, even though they spoke English fine when they were trying to get cash out of us. They also never even checked our other power pole which they maintained every other year. This is supposed to be a reputable business. This was horrible business practice and I imagine such a large contract with PG&E is part of what helps keep this business afloat. I wonder how PG&E will feel if/when I tell them about all this. Davey Tree Service, DO BETTER.

We couldn’t be happier with the work that Davey did for us recently. It was a pleasure dealing with everyone at Davey, from TJ, the arborist who assessed the scope of work and managed it, to the truly outstanding crew that did the job. We were super impressed with the work that Danny and Omar did to thin and shape our several birch trees, and the very thorough removal of some medium-sized shrubs and lots of scrub oak by the rest of the crew, including grinding several stumps and large roots on a slope.
Everyone from Davey was competent, considerate, communicative and just really nice to work with. I know that we’ll be able to rely on them for any future tree care. We highly recommend them!!

The tree care branch of Davey Tree is amazing. They work carefully, fast and friendly and even added a creative touch to help me get over the loss of my tree.

TJ at Davey Tree did a great job of pruning my avocado tree. It looks so much more healthy, and I expect I will get lots of avocados this year. They were fast, efficient, and thorough! I will definitely use them again!
