We had to replace both our sewer pipe and water line, a very complicated job because they were 50 years old and not to code. Andrew encountered many unexpected problems, such as massive tree roots, the fact that our sewer line sloped up instead of down, and issues with the old city sewer and water connections. I could tell that Andrew was a very skilled professional that took pride in his work. At least three times, he had the opportunity to ignore an issue because the job would pass inspection anyway, but in each case, he fixed it on his own additional time. This was a big job and required two inspections, shutting off water and sewer service one or two times and careful coordination with the water company and our landscape contractor. Andrew made a huge effort to manage all this and minimize our inconvenience. Andrew is also a delightful person to work with.

Andy is professional and responsive. No one likes calling a plumber, but Andy makes the experience much less awful.

Communication was primarily through email, and was fast. We got same day service, and when the problem couldn't be fixed immediately, were scheduled for service 36 hours later. (We had a slowly draining bathroom sink, this was not an emergency, just an inconvenience.) A cancellation moved our service up a day so everything was fixed within 24 hours of calling.

I was contacted quickly after my inquiry and provided very convenient times to estimate the work. Andrew showed up promptly for the estimate and brought everything he needed to complete the job. He told me how long the work would take and we agreed to proceed with the job immediately. He was professional and very informative (I watched) and he explained what he was doing, why and what tools he used. He was very quick and thorough, making sure that each connection was tested before moving on to the others. He accepted a check for payment and provided a receipt along with a 30-day warranty for the work completed.

I could not be happier with the service Andy and his crew provided. Our entire system backed up in a Saturday and I called around that evening and Andy was able and willing to come over within the hour to diagnose. He was knowledgeable and knew right away what the problem was. He is then confirmed it with a camera sent through the pipes. Work to replace the main line between the house and the street was done within the week for what so far as I could tell by doing some quick research was a reasonable cost. He was professional and humble and very responsive. I would absolutely hire him again. Thanks, Andy!

We had a terrific experience with Comet Sewer and Plumbing and we now have go-to plumber.

We needed our frequently-blocked sewer service line diagnosed and dealt with. Andrew replied quickly and inspected the sewer line with a cool hi-res self-leveling camera. A lovely quick chat revealed that Andrew is deeply and uniquely experienced as he had worked in both the US and the U.K for many years.

Andrew and his team replaced the service line on the agreed day even though it was raining. He also managed the city permits and inspections. Having finally found trust worthy plumber, we had Andrew install a water efficient toilet and an up-to-code stand pipe for our washing machine. He also inspected all our plumbing and gave us heads up about work the could be needed in years to come.

Easy to work with and great customer service. My issue was resolved quick and price was reasonable.

Used AI to do some analysis on how much a reasonable sewer repair would cost for a specific style of home, the type of repair, and the relative location of the property. His estimate came in within my estimated parameters. The other two estimates I received from other local plumbers were almost double from what I had anticipated.

Andrew is great to work with. Extremely knowledgeable and provides you with as much detail as you needed to understand the nature of the repair. I would not hesitate to hire him again for any other plumbing projects,

Had to replace sewer lateral piping from house to street. Andrew did entire replacement quickly and without having to disturb the new front landscaping and pavers. Trenchless piping was magic. Andrew is extremely nice to work with too.

I have used Comet Plumbing repeatedly. They are honest, fair, efficient, and clean. I am consistently impressed by their knowledge and experience, and recommend them wholeheartedly.

We thought that there might be root in our sewer system, but weren't sure. Andrew came out quickly and with his camera was able to do a through inspection of the sewer line and found that we had probably a dozen location with root intrusions, a belly of water, and a failed unpermitted repair. Using trenchless technology he was able to replace the entire sewer line while minimizing damage to the driveway. He was always pleasant to work with and very communicative.

We had a leaking water main, Andrew came out on the 4th July and gave us a quote and returned promptly on the 5th to replace the pipe between the meter and the house. Happy with the result and will contact him in future for our plumbing needs.

Can’t say enough about the quick response and courteous service. We had a rusted pipe outside due to someone installing dissimilar metals. Andy helped sort out the issue and didn’t mind when my two sons insisted on watching the whole operation. The price was very fair. 100% recommend.

Andrew Rhodes, owner operator of this company does good honest work. I first had him in 2010 and have called him three additional times. In 2014 major work involving replacement of pipe connection to the house and pipe replacement under the house was completed. Permits were pulled and the city of Los Altos inspector went under the house upon completion of the work giving me paper work of endorsement of a job well done meeting all requirements and approval of city code. Mr. Rhodes knows his business.

Andrew was wonderful. We had a water heater leak and Andrew was able to come out on a Sunday and replace it. He did a thorough job, communicated well, and even made improvements to the "poor" way our old water heater had been installed. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!

Andy and his team were great! We had a pipe break and called Comet a week before Christmas. Andy was able to fit us in and get a temporary fix in place before Christmas dinner and start the mold cleanup effort.
