We needed to have our oak tree branches pruned to clear the roof to reduce fire risk. The company said they would remove just the dead branches as well. They ended up severely pruning the trees even though they were stressed from drought and heat. We needed a tree pruned to allow a view. Instead of clearing out branches from inside the tree they lopped it off at the top. This is a mature coastal live oak which must not be pruned that way. The service was done about a year ago. We have spent hundreds of dollars trying to reverse some of the damage they did. We may lose a couple of trees due to stress from severe pruning. If not for the wet winter we were told by an arborist we could have risked more tree death.
