Kash and his family are the best in the business hands down. Even though I don't own an expensive fancy rug, I was still treated with 5* customer service. The whole experience was top notch and our rug came back looking better than when we bought it from home goods. I Highly recommend Rug ideas for all of your rug cleaning, recoloring and repair needs. This place is amazing. The work they do here was really incredible to watch — from the cleaning and drying process to hand-sewing repairs, they really know what they are doing. Dr. Kay and Kash were wonderful to work with and there is no one else we would trust to maintain the condition of our rug. We bought it in Istanbul in 2014 and it was way overdue for a cleaning from foot traffic plus a few stains from our elderly pup before he passed away. It now looks as good as it did when we bought it and feels even better!

RUG IDEAS is the BEST! I work with an interior design company that is constantly looking to have vintage rugs repaired and cleaned and these are the only guys I trust! They have great communication and the price is very reasonable.

This is our second time using Rug Ideas and we highly recommend.

We have a wool/viscose blend area rug with cellulose fibers that turn yellow when wet. Any liquid that spills on viscose has the potential to turn the rug yellow. Trying to clean the yellow yourself will only make it worse. We discovered this the hard way. We spent $300 on a rug guy who made it worse with each try. So by the time we called Rug Ideas, we had a really big mess on our hands. We also learned a valuable lesson: Never use a low-cost rug operation to clean an area rug. They might be fine for wall-to-wall carpeting, but if you have an expensive rug, don’t waste your money on the inexpensive alternative. It’s tempting, but don’t do it.

Pros:
Rug Ideas are a very professional operation and very nice to deal with
They know what they’re doing
They will do the best possible job to fix your rug, but remember, no rug is entirely fixable unless you are willing to spend whatever it takes to restore it

Cons:
They take significantly more time than estimated to complete the job.
They are trustworthy, but I advise you wait until they can look at your rug in person before settling on a price. It’s hard for them to assess exactly what your rug needs until they see it with their own eyes. You can negotiate less work for less money (which is what we did) and get results that are good, but not perfect. For example, we decided to have them focus un removing the stain on the top side of the rug. So the top looks GREAT, but the underside is still a bit jacked.
They will try to sell you on advisable options that are tempting, but not offered in the price of cleaning (e.g. applying a protector to prevent future stains). It adds up fast.

Would I use Rug Ideas again? 100% yes. They know what they’re doing. And next time, they will be the first people we call. You won’t regret it.

I had the same excellent experience as all the other reviewers: Kash and Dr Kay are knowledgeable, friendly, passionate and do outstanding work. I'd like to add praise for the education they gave me. I inherited two fine old rugs from my family: a long Persian runner and a large rectangular Navajo rug. Dr. Kay was able to tell me not only that the rugs were very high quality and from the early 1920s (which I knew), but he added some history. The runner is Kurdish in origin, and extremely rare because of its long length (17 feet). The Kurds have been so oppressed and harrassed for so long that they normally don't have time to complete a rug that long. It's too big a commitment. I was humbled to learn this. Dr. Kay elevated my appreciation of the rug and increased my knowledge of world history. And he did it with warmth and kindness. Rug Ideas is absolutely the very best.

I have a designer rug that my cat threw up on and left a stain. After doing a search I came across Rug Ideas and their perfect 5 star rating. I took my rug in and everyone was extremely nice and helpful in explaining my options and pricing, which by the way is very well priced. Kash is the main guy who took my rug in and helped with everything. He's fantastic, very communicative and thorough. When I dropped the rug off they gave me a tour of their facility and all the different procedures the rug will go through during the cleaning process. The rug came out great and I will definitely be going here any other time I need my rugs cleaned. Highly recommend!

Fantastic operation! Kash and his expert team completely cleaned a badly soiled and stained (and valuable!) rug of ours, restoring it to glory. These are absolutely the guys you want to deal with if you have a valuable carpet that needs sensitive cleaning and restoration. Total pros, and friendly too.

Great experience! Dr. K knows what he’s doing and talking about. We needed an appraisal for some rugs and they gave us a very thorough assessment and explained the entire process very well. They truly treated us like family and I will definitely be going back after seeing their incredible warehouse space for all their rug services.

We took our 2 large area carpets in to be cleaned for the first time in 15 years. This was their first proper cleaning, as the one other time was by an inferior method. The care that Rug Ideas, overseen by Dr. Kay and his son Kash was extraordinary. Our carpets have been restored to virtually like-new condition, with vibrant colors and no chemical smell or cleaning residue. I have taken all of my rugs here for a few years now. I just find comfort in knowing that Kash and Mr. Khosrow are experts who know exactly what they’re doing. My rugs come out clean and with no bleeding of the dyes. They are both so professional, kind, and their team works quick!

I will never trust anyone else with my precious Persian rugs. These pieces have so much value, both sentimental and monetary. It’s important to treat them with care and that includes how they are washed!!!

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Rug Ideas! They are so friendly and knowledgable. They took the time to explain all rug cleaning options and prices, which were extremely reasonable for the incredible quality of work they do. We had a very difficult stain on our nice Persian rug and had issues with fraying. They completely removed the stain and fixed the fraying, the rug honestly looks new again! We are so happy with their customer service and quality of work we will absolutely be going back for rug cleaning. We couldn't recommend Rug Ideas more!

We have been doing business with rug ideas for more than25 years. Currently we live in Steamboat Springs, Co, and are so impressed with them thart we shipped our rugs to them last year for cleaning and repair. The work thay did is incredible especially in cleaning a light colored one which had stains on it we had been trying to remove since we purchased it at auction.

Dr. Kay provided me with very honest and informative verbal rug appraisals for $95 per rug. However, a written appraisal costs extra. His years of experience make him a reliable expert in this industry. I recommend him for a reliable and realistic appraisal, especially since he is one of few people in the area able to do so.

The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because I think his price is fairly steep both for a simple verbal appraisal and a written one. He is also unable to confirm whether rugs are truly made of silk because that would require lab analysis, so part of his appraisal is just guesswork.

Highly recommended! While I typically do not leave reviews, the exceptional service I received from Rug Ideas merits recognition. Here's the backstory: My white Moroccan wool rug fell victim to a friend's puppy accident. Thankfully, I stumbled upon Rug Ideas for assistance. They recommended a spot clean and wash which cleared the stain completely. However, a few weeks later, the stain resurfaced!
Upon informing Rug Ideas, they promptly offered to problem solve the issue, providing subsequent treatments free of charge. Through collaborative efforts, we pinpointed 'wicking' as the likely culprit. Rug Ideas graciously took the rug back, employing multiple treatments & drying methods. Their dedication to customer satisfaction and pride in their work is evident in every step of the process. I can't recommend Rug Ideas & the team enough.

Sorry this review is late and posting. I have two amazing Persian rugs and one beautiful Persian or Asian style made in India rug
Two of the rugs are very large somewhere between 10 and 11 feet x 12-16 feet. Those I bought, wow, 40 years ago! There’s another little Persian rug that’s about 4’ x 3’ that my mother bought 50 years ago.

All the rugs them selves or somewhere between 60 and 100 years old or more.
They had never been professionally cleaned. I think they were cleaned a couple times with a Machine you rent from the hardware store and of course many times with a homestyle “professional“ rug cleaning machine. I knew it was time and I found this company amazing. They were friendly and helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. As the roads are heavy for a small fee they picked them up and they were returned them

They also sent me videos of them being cleaned and I was shocked at the amount of dirt coming off of them As well as the fact that I was being told that was a lot of old animal urine, from my dogs, over the years, still on them - despite my efforts at cleaning-

There were some minor repairs how do you get done and the fringe had to be adjusted.

It did take about three months or less for them to be completed but I had told them at the beginning time was not an issue. They could do other work before mine so I had no problem waiting for them.

And when they returned them I was amazed. The colors just seemed more vibrant and well the repairs were not visible and they looked as good as the day I bought them. I thought they look great when I asked him to bring them - I did so just because I suspected they could look even better- and I was right.

I could not have been more pleased and will and have refer friends to them and strangers alike

Very professional and helpful. They did a beautiful job and exactly as promised. Delivery by Mark & Aaron was also an excellent experience. Besides cleaning our beautiful new imported rugs, they repaired a cut so well, I could not even see any evidence that the cut was ever there.
I would definitely use them again and recommend them to my friends.

Run to Rug Ideas with all of your precious carpets! Kash is just great....communicating every step of the process and wow....beautiful repair and cleaning!! And the superb service extends to the pick up and delivery. We are so grateful for Rug Ideas and Kash...especially since losing our home in the recent fires. A rarity indeed.

Kash is amazing! Rug Ideas have been cleaning our rugs for years and do such great work. Recently a bottle of red nail polish broke and spilled all over our rug. Thinking there was no hope for this rug, we reached out to Rug Ideas and to our amazement all came out and not a sign of polish. I heard from a vintage rug company that they are the best and they have proven to be so for us.

Rug Ideas is an amazing company! We had 3 Persian rugs that we got cleaned and repaired. It has given our house new life. They are very old family rugs and hadn’t been well taken care of in the past. We have learned so much about how to take care of them going forward. There was also a ton that needed to be repaired especially on our largest rug. We can’t get over what a difference it makes.
