Quality should be Alex Cosman’s middle name. I originally hired Cosman Construction to build me a rustic screened deck, and the project evolved into a wonderful 3-season glassed-in addition—far exceeding my expectations!

Their attention to detail is extraordinary, and their rigor in supervising subcontractors is awesome. Finally, communication was excellent: they always let me know what to expect and consulted me along the way. In my experience this is a rare and welcome quality for contractors.

I’m a professor by trade, and overall, I would give Cosman Construction a resounding A+!

We got our new porch railing today. We are soooo pleased!!! They did a great job!!!

Asked for an estimate for repairs. Without seeing the property, he told us over the phone our deck was probably going to fall off and to get someone else.

Prompt, polite. He evaluated our gate on a saturday morning on short notice. Would use again without hesistation..

Three levels of decks and stairs were a challenge and now are all sturdy, safe and beautiful. My mountain neighbors and friends critique only with comments of how well everything was done. (One of these neighbors built his own house.) The old route to my front door had been complicated. Alex of Cosman Construction designed a more direct and beautiful way of entrance. The challenge, other than winter winds, was my house isn't exactly plumb. Their measurements are exact! The result is satisfactory perfection. My fortune in fate was that I found them and I most certainly recommend Cosman Construction.

I had Alex and his very competent team build two decks totaling 700 square feet, along with a 70ft. reinforced property line fence and was super impressed with the results. Timely execution, no missteps and the end result on all phases, beautiful.
I plan to work with Alex again soon on other property projects.

I’d like to start by saying my new deck is beautiful. Alex & team did a great job replacing a really poorly built deck at a fair price.

Negative: communication was really poor after being hired and the job took about 2 weeks longer than originally quoted with no discounts or apologies.

He started about a week after he said he would. When he did start, I left my house for 4 days (the amount of time he said it would take to finish the build). I left because my job is 80% meetings and my dogs bark a lot with noise outside. I work from home. When I returned, the only things completed were the demo and the posts (which he texted me and said was done on the first day). I left my home again for another 5 days. When I returned, it still wasn’t done.

I realize that things happen, especially with crew and equipment, but that could have been better communicated especially knowing I could have just stayed at my house during that time (he was aware). Alex seemed really stressed out the whole time and unwilling to do the work without any help. It’s not a big deck. People build decks by themselves all the time, even when they don’t do it as a profession. When he did get help, it was fairly smooth (the guy helping him was a champ).

Honestly the whole process kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. I could have just spent the extra $500 and had it done in 3 days like other companies were quoting me.

Again, final product is great. If you can get him at a time where he has a crew, I would recommend. I’d just stay on top of progress updates if you aren’t physically there to supervise.

In the long process of remodeling my older home, Cosman Construction has by far been my best experience with a construction team. They were reasonable on cost and realistic on what could and should be done. They worked with me to help decide what would work best within my budget on my deck remodel/repair. They were also super quick/efficient and did an excellent job. Highly recommend them and will definitely use them again on my next project.

Alex and his team went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. Once he showed us that our existing framework was failing, he immediately came up with options to rebuild the entire staircase using composite materials. His attention to detail and willingness to ask for our opinion was truly valued throughout the process. We would absolutely recommend him for projects looking for great workmanship at a fair price.

We hired Alex to replace a main support post that had shifted and sunk on our second-floor deck. Alex poured a new footer and replaced the support beam to re-level the deck. He showed up on time and had great communication. We would definitely use him again!

Alex came as a referral from a friend for whom he built a complicated set of decks. He performed as our friend said he would. He was here when he said he would and worked through snow and cold to complete our deck on time. Alex and his workers were very respectful and pleasant to deal with. He built a solid and attractive deck that should outlive us. We would highly recommend Alex to anyone who needs to have a deck built.

Alex's work is absolutely top-notch. His quote came in very competitively and he was able to turn the entire project around in less three days. I liked that he consulted with me on small design changes during the project, asking my opinion on what I thought would look better. I had some fence repair done by another company earlier in the year and I regret not having hired Alex for the job, as his craftsmanship is far better.

Alex did some major repair work to our deck and also installed custom built gates on our deck stairs. He does excellent, thorough work, is very knowledgeable, and was very easy to work with. I had contacted several contractors for these repairs and Alex was the only one who responded immediately and got right to work. I highly recommend him!

While searching for a contractor to repair my 17 year old composite deck I stumbled across The A-Team in Alex and Jay. Half of my deck is 8 to 10 feet above grade, contributing to structural issues underneath. The deck floor boards had remaining life, but the railing was discolored and crumbling. I decided on underneath repairs and new railing. Alex uses top of the line material and I am beyond pleased with the outcome. The goal is to get 10 more years from my deck. The new railing makes the whole deck look new.

Because of deck age and height, problems arose every step of the way. Alex was able to analyze and make solid recommendations on how to proceed. We had joists pulling out of hangers, warped joists, staircase railing needing reconfiguration, cracked and twisted deck support posts, posts that did not line up for a straight railing, and other surprises. All repairs and replacements were executed with ease and finesse.

Cosman Construction hit the mark on technical competence, teamwork and communication. Alex and Jay make a team that can deliver quality results. I would definitely use Cosman Construction for future work.

Alex built a staircase addition to our existing multi-level deck. He did an excellent job matching the new materials and design to the existing deck, even though the original is dated. The final product is terrific. Alex is an enjoyable person to work with, was communicative and responsive, and seems like an all-around good guy. I would not hesitate to hire him again!

The first project Alex and team worked on for us was a wrap-around landing and staircase from our house down to our new paver patio. Alex's attention to detail was very helpful in both selecting the attractive and functional materials as well as adapting the stairs to the slight imperfections of our paver patio.

We appreciated the quality and craftsmanship of this first project so much that we immediately hired him for a second project to build a contemporary horizontal cedar fence around our yard. Alex's attention to detail and sense of design aesthetics led to several helpful and attractive ideas to adapt the fence to our yard. We couldn't be happier with the outcome!

Alex and team were a real pleasure to work with and we look forward to our next project with them.
