Having dealt with the new construction phase while building his own homes, is what gave him the desire to discover a new way of supporting foundations in Southern Colorado. He came up with the concept while trying to improve the movement issues from building with casones. He decided to research helical piers as an alternative approach, to avoid settling.
When you build a home, you need a strong and sturdy foundation, in Colorado, because of the soils and landslides which are not unique to Colorado he spoke with A. B. Chance Company to see if there might be a way to build stronger foundations.
In 2013 he started building his homes on helicals, and became trained and field certified by A.B. Chance and learned how to design and install the helical piers.
