Nick made an amazing rescue of a cat stuck in a tree! He was the only person willing to immediately come out and help. No one else would've been able to reach the cat but Nick saved the day! He and his partner made a great team and were so willing to take time out of their day to help an animal in need. Will 100% be using them for tree work in the future-HIGHLY recommend!

I contacted A Cut Above Tree Solutions when I was notified by the neighborhood HOA that my required dwarf mistletoe and wildfire mitigation maintenance. We have a 4.88 acre lot in Black Forest, Colorado with a dense population of ponderosa pines.

A Cut Above Tree Solutions came to my house, walked the lot and came up with a plan with me to take care of the biggest problem areas. The plan was presented to the HOA and we also had two forestry professionals walk the property to ensure we were on track. After the inspection, we ended up needing to take care of nearly double the original estimate. A Cut Above Tree Solutions did a fantastic job removing trees, hauling out the wood, chipping slash, and limbing up trees and thinning dogwood for fire mitigation.

I cannot recommend A Cut Above Tree Solutions highly enough. Nick, the owner, went above and beyond in every way. I had a massive job of removing over 300 Ponderosa pine trees, many of which were infested with pine bark beetle. I contacted five or six other companies for estimates, and every one of them planned to use heavy equipment that would have left deep ruts in the ground or large amounts of debris on the property, and most of them were more expensive.

Nick took an entirely different approach—using low-impact methods that protected the landscape while still handling the sheer size of the project efficiently. Not only did he remove the trees, but he also hauled off every bit of wood chipping and infested material. He even went the extra mile by removing old stump balls with roots attached that had been left behind above ground from the Black Forest fire.

When the job was complete, my property was immaculate—better than I imagined possible given the scale of the work. Nick exceeded my expectations in every respect. His professionalism, attention to detail, and pride in his work really stand out.

My friend's cat was chased up a tree by some dogs on a Monday, and in spite of multiple attempts by the family to rescue the cat, on Wednesday, the cat was still stuck in the tree, and by this point, kitty was much further up (I figure the tree in question is around 45 feet tall and the cat was on a branch about 30-35 feet up). Fearing that their pet might freeze, starve, or become fatally dehydrated, my husband and I started trying to find solutions. We had already called 4 or 5 places including the humane society, the Black Forest fire department dispatch, and animal control. My husband found A Cut Above just when things were looking pretty grim for saving the cat, but the owner, answered right away, he was very kind to listen to my tale about the catin the tree, and he immediately said to text him the address because he would absolutely rescue the kitty.
I met Nick and his team at my friend's house, and they were already assessing the tree and how best to attempt the rescue. In the end, Nick ended up using a ladder to get as high as he could, and then climbing the rest of the way. The cat was, of course, weak, cold, and hungry, she was so scared. Nick was a bit scratched up (from maybe both kitty and tree), but fine and a true hero. What Nick doesn't know is that what he did that day saved more that just the cat. The kids that the belong to that kitty have had such a rough time of things, and they have a difficult time trusting adults aside from their grandmother. Nick, his team, and their actions did something to restore a bit of those kid's faith in humanity.
As for the tree services A Cut Above provides, I can see why Nick is a trusted business owner in Black Forest. I will be recommending him and his team for both trees and cats for sure!

Nick did an amazing job cutting down two VERY large ponderosa pines that were not only very close to the house, but also leaning towards the house. Throughout the process he had excellent communication, worked diligently and did a great job with cleanup. Plus, his pricing was very reasonable. Friendly and Professional! I had a large tree that needed to be removed. The crew at Gems got rid of it in a shorter time frame than I expected. They also removed all the debris. Zero damage to the fence the tree was nestled up to. I would hire them again!
