We used Factor Design Build for a renovation on a rental property we purchased in Boulder. They did an excellent job turning our 3 bedroom/2 bath house into a an updated beautiful 4 bedroom/3 bath house with an added lower level entrance. They were professional and friendly and brought together an excellent team to get our job done. We would happily work with them again.

The Factor team is fantastic!
They were supportive throughout the entire process, and incredibly responsive (and patient) making adjustments on the fly as I provided feedback.
They brought our vision to life and I couldn't be happier with our new space.
I would 100% recommend them without any reservations, and plan on using them again moving forward as needed.

We knew we wanted to go with a Design/Build company for our full house renovation and interviewed several. Josh at FDB impressed us from the start. He was confident that we could achieve our wish list but also honest with us about what renovations would or wouldn’t be cost effective. From the design process to demo to substantial completion everybody we met at factor including the subs they used were professional, trustworthy, and fun to work with. Renovating a house is a stressful experience in even the best situations and we started ours at the beginning of the pandemic. However, we always felt that Factor had our back and helped make the process as seamless as possible. We would definitely work with them again!

Wonderful experience with Factor Design Build on the complete interior remodel of our home. The project included bathrooms, complete kitchen overhaul, flooring, refinishing walls and lofted ceilings, closet reconfiguration, electrical work and custom built-ins. Couldn't be more pleased with the finished product and thoroughly enjoyed working with the Factor team. They were on top of it throughout the project and very communicative. Project was complete on the projected deadline. White glove service that was a great fit for our family.

We used Factor to renovate a 1966 ranch-style house in Cherry Hills. Once we got to know the team and felt comfortable with the operation, what began as a kitchen remodel turned into a full-on 10-month renovation of the entire house. We absolutely saved time and money having the design group working out of the same office as the construction team. This allowed for a seamless and intuitive process that delivered for us on time and on budget. It is worth noting Factor has talent at the trade-level - Travis, our construction manager, is a real pro. They did a great job for us and I would highly recommend their services.

The Factor Design team transformed our home! What was dated is now light, bright, modern and functional. The home's layout presented some challenges, but we were able to seamlessly create a home office and an expansive mudroom. We gutted the kitchen and now have a serene space to cook and gather. They were able to offer high end custom cabinets but also lower priced selections in areas where we wanted to save money. We refinished the floors and ALL the drywall, got a gorgeous new modern fireplace, all new paint including the trim, and more. There were a lot of moving parts.
The Factor team was patient and professional. People showed up when they said they would, worked creatively with us, and communicated well. Construction can be stressful and during a pandemic even more so. Factor went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and that everyone who came to our home followed our wishes (and CDC guidelines) for Covid protocol. When issues came up, as they inevitably do in remodels of this size, they handled everything in the most professional manner and with transparency. We're thrilled with the quality and feel Factor helped raise the value of our home significantly. The warranty they offer brings peace of mind. They check back in to make sure we're satisfied, and if there's anything that needs tending to, someone shows up and takes care of it--even after the project is completed. They don't just disappear. We would definitely hire Factor again and recommend to anyone looking for quality work!

Factor Design Build brightened up our kitchen and master bathroom and we are so happy with the updates. The entire Factor team is very skilled at their job and perform their work with great integrity. The Factor project managers are thorough and timely with updates and have wonderful communication skills and tools to keep the project on track. We were living in the home during the updates and everyone on the Factor team was very considerate of my family, dog and home! I would use Factor again and highly recommend this great team to others.

Factor Design Build is an amazing company to work with. They take the time to ask questions and truly understand what you need and what is best for your family. From our first meeting we felt we were in good hands. During the design process we came across an opportunity to buy a new home. Kent, Josh and team were genuinely happy for us, and while we were excited to find our new home, we were sorry to not be able to continue the process with Factor. I recently completed a whole house remodel in Boulder with Factor; siding, windows and concrete work as well as new kitchen and bathrooms, floors, interior trim and doors. My project turned out great and I am very happy with the results.

Factor provides a creative and collaborative design process during which we both could determine whether to proceed. If I chose not to proceed I would have a valuable design package. This process allowed me to make cost benefit decisions before the construction began.

Factor’s design team spent all the time necessary to go through every detail. Such a big project required a lot of meetings to make all the decisions and I had a great experience and enjoyed working with them.

We hired Factor Design Build to remodel our home in Boulder and could not be happier with the result. We had never taken on a remodel of this scope and knew choosing the right partner would be critical.
9 months later we can say, without question, we made the right choice.

Aside from the quality of the work (which was outstanding), two things stood out to us: the people and the process. The entire Factor team exhibited the type of professionalism you expect, but often don’t find, in this industry. Owners Josh and Kent were honest, transparent, set proper expectations and delivered exactly what they said they would. They were also very flexible as we changed direction and scope a few times along the way!

Jenny and the design team were outstanding and took the time to really understand our specific likes/dislikes. They struck a great balance in designing what we asked for, but also pushing us to think differently in certain areas. And it was apparent the design team was in lock step with the construction team on site which made the process very efficient and ensured the team could deliver the vision they helped us create.

Everyone who worked on our home from the plumbers and electricians to the carpenters and painters were professional, respectful and all-around good people who take obvious pride in their work. They even helped take care of our plants and shoveled snow. They were more like friends/family - sometimes we miss having them around!

With a project of this size, and an older home, we also knew a few unexpected challenges would come up (like finding ground water seepage in our basement). When they did, Factor found creative solutions that met our needs and fit our budget.

I can’t recommend Factor Design Build enough, you won’t be disappointed.

We did diligence on a few different design build firms to lead our home renovation, and we ultimately went with Factor Design Build due to the organization of their process and the professionalism of their team. We were not disappointed. From the initial design through to the end of construction, organization and professionalism was a consistent theme.

The initial design process was very collaborative, and Factor's team of design experts were able to help us create a unique space that integrated our style into our existing home. The construction process was methodically planned, and the construction team was able to quickly resolve any unforeseen issues we encountered. As a result we we're able to finish our renovation ahead of schedule and on budget.

We wanted to give special recognition to Gary our Project Manager who did a tremendous managing the job and keeping the project running smoothly. He, without a doubt, treated our house as his own, and the quality of the onsite work product was reflective of that.

We would strongly recommend Factor Design Build to anyone considering doing a renovation.

Factor Design sets a high bar for design and construction services. As first-time homeowners, my husband and I knew very little about this process and were looking for a company to handle a basement remodel. We wanted to work with a company that handles all aspects of the project, from architectural services, design, construction, and project management. Factor’s team made us feel comfortable with the process and set the appropriate expectations so there were no surprises along the way. Factor Design Build is top-notch! I highly recommend them – you will not be disappointed with their exceptional service and work!

We used Factor for a major renovation this past year and are very happy with the results. The best parts: a) They kept on schedule and completed our 10 month project earlier than expected; b) when problems arose (renovating a 100 year old house - there WILL be problems and if your contractor says that there won't be - run from them) they communicated quickly and effectively. They always had more than one option for us to choose from on how to remedy the situation and kept our priorities in mind; c) they understood our priorities and helped us make decisions knowing what those priorities were; d) all my neighbors commented on how quiet, clean, and respectful everyone was the entire time we were out of our house for construction; e) they genuinely have continued to follow up and check in after we moved back in to the house in order to ensure we were happy; f) the employees are delightful and I had so much fun getting to know them!; g) their choice in subcontractors was great - our woodwork is top notch, etc.

Was everything perfect? No. A renovation will never be perfect. EVER. So make sure you find a contractor that you trust will communicate with you, be honest with you, and will do high quality work. Factor is that company and you will end up very happy with the results.

We did a major remodel project with Factor Design Build and we would recommend them to anyone looking to do similar work. The team and the project was dialed - there was always work happening at the house once the construction began.

With a project such as ours there were going to be some things that popped up and the response from the team and from ownership was always in line or above what we were expecting. That went a long way with us.

During the design process they provided the right amount of choices so that it was not overwhelming. The designer and architect gladly revised our plans multiple times as we did not know exactly what we wanted till we were in the process.

We would recommend Factor to anyone looking to do a remodel project.

We searched for almost two years to find the right design group to do a full gut remodel and addition to our bungalow while also keeping all the charm and classic aspects of the house. We've lived in this house most of our adult lives and finding the right group for this mattered a lot. We ultimately went with Factor and this was one of the best decisions we've ever made.

Long story short, they delivered a world class house exactly to spec, on budget and two months early.

If you want an excellent product, you need to go to excellent people who do excellent work. This costs money. Any large outlay can be uncomfortable, but as soon as we saw how the money was spent and the care with which the project progressed, we knew it was the right call.

You are entering into more than a business transaction with Factor. This is a relationship that they steward from design through architecture and build and finishing, and then warranty beyond. I consider this whole squad friends. And after a project of this scope and size that is saying a lot.

We recently completed a kitchen and primary bathroom remodel with Factor. We are first-time renovators and the Factor team made it an exceptional experience. The construction team was incredibly thorough, competent, organized, and solution-oriented. The four-month project was delivered on time and we couldn't be happier with the result. Early on in the design phase, we had some communication challenges, but the team was highly receptive to our feedback, made adjustments, and worked with us to make sure we were comfortable in our communications moving forward. Factor’s commitment to both the client experience and the final product truly stands out. We highly recommend them!

We love our new house! It has been an epic journey to this point... after a nasty flood, Josh and his team stepped in to rebuild not only our home but our sanity. With Phil at the helm day-to-day, the FDB team overcame every challenge our project threw at them - from old services requiring replacement, new found ceiling spaces to create height, our design desires... I am thankful we chose FDB as no other team in CO would have delivered our project on time and on budget. I've already recommended Josh, Phil, Dustin, Kent, Craig, Matt and their subbies to anyone I know looking for a full service operation. They even make the admin easy :) Will be having them over for a housewarming BBQ soon as became friends - we weren't just a job...

This firm helped us with a major kitchen remodel. They are extremely professional and thorough with incredible attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. There are always some bumps in the road and these guys hung in there with us and got the job done. The longer we live in our "new" space the more we love it.

We bought a 2,500 sqft Tudor revival that was built in 1906 in a historic Denver neighborhood. It was outdated and had a typical choppy, closed-off floorplan. We chose Factor to open up the floorplan, update the finishes, and add almost a thousand square feet. It was a big project -- almost a year of construction and several months of planning and permitting.

Factor is not going to be the cheapest option. We've remodeled five different houses and this was by far the most extensive project we've ever done. It was also unique in that we were overseeing the project from 1,200 miles away.

Factor made our lives easy by handling all the design, managing all the subs, and keeping us well informed throughout the project. The quality of the work is outstanding, bordering on flawless. They hold their subs to a very high standard. I wouldn't hesistate to recommend them and would hire them for future projects.
