Landscaping reviews in Denver, Colorado

Will is great to work with. Last fall I was looking to have my sprinklers blown out before the first freeze of the season and he came out the same day that I called (which was a Saturday). He also replaced my sprinkler valves this spring for a very fair price. The new valves have been working great. I also hired him to do some sod installation in my backyard this summer. He and his crew did an excellent job with the prep work and installation. The sod is looking great, and again, the work was done at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend Landscapes 101 to anyone needing sprinkler maintenance/repair or landscaping work. Their schedule does fill up quickly but that's because they do such great work.

I highly recommend William and Team for any of your landscaping needs. These guys are 5 star and immediately demonstrated passion, integrity and professionalism. The kind of local small business you want to support and be successful.
I had a fairly simple sprinkler repair job. Unfortunately we ran into unforeseen and unexpected difficulties (of course). William and team handled it with the upmost professionalism and stayed until 8PM to complete the job. They had to return for an hour first thing the next morning, squeezing me in as their schedule was full the following day, and completed the final touch need for completion and satisfaction!
I can’t say enough that William and team are a 5 star bunch and grateful for establish a solid business relationship. I’ve already referred him to a family member and a couple of co-workers!! Thank you William!!! I wish you and your team a very successful and profitable 2024!! -
Can't say enough great things about Walker and his Landscapes 101 team. Very reasonable prices; efficient and reliable; and really quality work. They took on a big job (complete demo of backyard and regrading, installation of new sprinkler system and new sod and mulch) and completed it right on time and on budget. Walker was transparent with all the pricing from the start, and reasonable with a couple items that unexpectedly came up. I was out of town during a portion of the work and Walker took care to continuously send photo and text updates throughout, and after the job was complete Walker continued to check in to make sure the sod was surviving a heat wave and to see if he could answer any questions (what other landscaping company does that?!). And, as other reviews have mentioned, Walker is responsive and is polite, respectful and easy to work with (always willing to explain what he is doing and why he is doing it, and wanting to help the customer understand how to maintain the landscaping moving forward). His employees were also equally polite, respectful and dedicated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

William and Landscaping 101 did a beautiful job transforming the front yard of our small coop. He was able to remove the old rock, weeds and debris, lay new weed cover and get all the materials including a new tree and add curb appeal to our home in a timely manner. Highly recommend his services.

I was looking to have my sprinkler system blown out prior to the first freeze of the season. Will scheduled me in for 10/13/2025. He kept me updated on his timing and was very professional. I highly recommend Landscape 101. He will be returning in the spring to ensure my system is up and running.

Don't know how to navigate the alleys in town! Leave messes on people's properies and don't clean after.

Very helpful. Professional set up, but took time to assist me with a DIY project. Thank you John

The best design service and implementation this side of Deaver! Give them a shout and watch them transform your outdoor space into something special!

Top quality design and service. Second home I have used them on. Not the lowest price in town but absolutely the top end product.

I worked with Jeremy Koch today who is a service technician and he was awesome! Helped educate me on the products and how to fix my problem quickly. I'd give this guy 10 stars if I could!

After a week or so of talking to one representative about the project in detail he sent me to another representative. With the new rep it was several weeks of waiting and not having an idea when I’d be contacted again, to we can start soon, to not sure what the costs would be, to getting a sky high quote, to suggestions of breaking down project into smaller pieces. I get an email the other day from first contact after waiting this whole time, that the second rep no longer works for them. Then blindly sent an email that my project isn’t worth doing because it’s less than $20K yet I was quoted a different price higher than that. Waste of time and summer to now be at square one and looking for other options this late in the season. No response or call from my email response about this fiasco. Last email said if I have future plans that fit to let them know. I do have a big project next year but definitely they won’t be doing. Don’t bother with them. Buyer beware.

We had a large project done throughout the property that involved the design and implementation of a complete landscape overhaul.
It included patios, steps, fireplace, trees, plants, flowers, etc.
Will & team did a great job on all aspects. We always get compliments from neighbors and guests!! -
I hate that I even have to write this review. The guy that came over from Mile High was initially one of the nicest, most down to earth guys I've met and I thought for sure that working with them would be not only easy, but fun! Unfortunately, after they did a concrete pour for us (which to be fair was excellent quality) they ghosted us and didn't reply to our emails or calls for 5 weeks (blowing right past our deadline for an event). Then they responded to say that jobs under $20k were too small for them to bother coming out (this was never stated when we initially contracted them). I then told them that they would have $20k in work if they could just be better about timely communication. Long story short - they wanted us to spend $100,000+ on a job and when we weren't rich enough for them they lost interest and ignored us completely. Again - their work seems top notch, and I wish them all the best in life, but if you have a smaller budget I would recommend you look elsewhere.

Please share! Anyone whom has hired Mile High Landscaping "Top Mowing & Lawn Maintenance please 🙏 note that the owner/manager Mike is by far the absolute worse individual I have ever encountered. Not only does his smiling face tell lies, but he himself has absolutely no sympathy, companionship, care in the world, let alone respect for the homeless community! I physically witnessed this malicious degeneratite, not only verbally harass the homeless, but he has gone outbofnhis way to intimidate them, verbally abuse them, demolish their safe keeping, and above all the absolute LOWEST OF THE LOWEST HE HAS STOLEN THE LITTLE OF THEIR BELONGINGS that they have left! This is NOT someone whom deserves to be respected nor given any type of gratitude nor business from my personal opinion. If you have hired this inconsiderate "man" please rethink what you are doing....

Poor schedule management. Came right away to start project (yea!), but then left with yard torn apart for over a month. Had to repeatedly call to get them back on the job. Many other scheduling delays. Felt like they had more valuable customers to attend to.
Make sure you get elevations. Our drawings really weren't professional enough to give us a clear picture of what the result would look like. Ended up hiring another firm to fix their issues after we got fed up.
Mile High disconnected our garage lighting and had to hire an electrician to fix it. The electrician they hired ended up drilling a hole into our water pipe, causing a leak into our basement. The electrician had to call a plumber to come to fix it. They were there until past midnight with us having no water for the day. A real comedy of errors.
One of the plants died and they claimed it was because we didn't use their watering schedule, but the two other plants were fine... Oh ya, first-month watering bill after they set the sprinklers was 600$...
We became so disillusioned with Mile-Hi I took the time to write-up our experience. I'm sure they will respond with seemingly good excuses. Just be careful. -
There aren’t enough words. I explored many options for designing and implementing a major landscaping project for my mid-century modern home, including hiring a landscape architect to design and manage the project, to utilizing a design/build company that would do it all. It was clear that each option had pros and cons and there was no clear answer at the outset. The stakes seemed high: my property was overrun by juniper shrubs that had not been touched in close to 60 years. There were portions of the quarter-acre property that probably hadn’t been touched by human feet in decades. The house itself was completely remodeled prior to my purchase of it — it is a local mid-century gem and so deserved to have landscaping that honors it vs. detracting from it. I knew this would be a major project and I desperately wanted to work with someone who cared as much about this place as I do (or almost as much, anyway).
Enter Will Hyde and Mile High Landscaping. After all those interviews with architects and other design/build companies, it became clear that this was my best option. Will is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, easy to get along with, and he listens as well as he advises. He’s a phenomenal designer who has hired and trained other phenomenal designers. The man is honest. I mean truly honest. There were many opportunities for Will or his employees to do the wrong thing — hiccups and the unexpected that come up naturally. And every single time they had the opportunity to choose, they did the right thing. Even when they didn’t know I was watching. It was simply astonishing, and so heartening, to witness people who cared about the work, took pride in it, worked well together, and communicated well and often.
Here’s something else that could be easy to overlook: the owner’s relationship with his crew. I met at least three of Will’s foremen during the time my project was underway. They, too, were honest and knowledgable, as well as respectful of me and my home. And the guys who worked for them — essentially the laborers — were all clearly happy in their work, took pride in it, and got along well with those who were senior to them. I never saw a person do something halfway, and I often saw someone go above and beyond. I never heard a whispered complaint or saw an expression of frustration or anger. Everyone just seemed to get along, support each other, and know what needed to happen for the job to be a success. Over the months it took to complete the project, I saw the same faces. There appears to be no revolving door of crew at Mile High.
Engaging in a project of the magnitude of this one was scary — it was a significant commitment financially as well as in time and attention. Working with Will and his team was a delight, even when the inevitable challenges arose. It’s so important to work with people one can trust who will adjust as things evolve on the project. I am so glad I took the time and effort to find and ultimately decide to hire Will and Mile High Landscaping. I will honestly say that going forward, whenever someone tells me they’re planning a landscaping project and are considering any other company than Mile High, I will respond “Why the heck would you do that?” The appearance of my beloved home is testimony to Will’s design and implementation skills. But the experience of working with Mile High can’t be seen. From my experience there is every reason imaginable to hire these guys. -
I hired Mile High Landscaping to perform a major renovation of my back patio, and I could not be happier. They were excellent at everything, but in particular, the quality of their hardscape is impeccable. The welder is amazing. The crew built and installed six massive steel beams to support our large arbor and everything about it was done well - how deep they buried them, the powder coat, the styling. I am in love with the patio tiles Will helped us pick and the pattern in which they are laid. The welder also designed a gorgeous fence and gate with alternating sizes of steel slats. (I know they took a loss on that fence and it's amazing). In fact, after getting a few other bids and designs, the reason I chose Mile High is because Will was the only one to have a creative and beautiful idea to hide our fuse box and hose connections - an idea no other company seemed to come up with. Everything about the styling and design of our arbor, fire pit, water feature, and tree placement was done with fantastic eye. We get compliments every time we have people over. Will did an awesome job with the outdoor lighting. Finally, they took a chance on us (and vice versa) in pouring a concrete bar and it turned out fantastically. I don't trust easily, and eventually I learned to just trust their ideas and vision and it worked out great. The landscaping is lovely and they tolerated a ton of input and indecision from me. Overall, I couldn't recommend them highly enough and I plan to hire them again for our front porch. This was a big job and they handled everything well. It has held up gorgeously through a full year and I can't wait to see what the landscaping grows into soon. If you're looking for a local company with a friendly and respectful crew, designers with a modern but practical eye, and a company that will listen to you - this is it!
