High Bar Arborist Services was the best price, and safely climbed the dead aspen tree in the backyard that couldn’t be felled. As it was very close to the house and garage.
His confidence was reassuring.
Also trimmed the front tree and it looks much better.

There are very few people who exhibit such joy in their work as Colin. Over two days he and his assistant took down two dead and hazardous aspens and the more dangerous and labor-intensive job of trimming our 100yo cottonwood. This latter tree is in our backyard without access for large equipment. I called three arborists to come give me an estimate and I am so glad Colin came first. He was able to come give me my estimate and fo the entire job within a week, and his price was beyond reasonable. I did not have them do any cleanup as we use the wood all year for heating and outdoor cooking, which made for a big discount. He had to climb all over the cottonwood with his gear to trim it up, which he said was the most fun he'd had all week. This contrasts drastically with Sav A Tree, whose receptionist quoted me a minimum of $4k, and who was really angry when I described the work I needed done. The contrast of both prices and attitude between Colin and the corporate chain cannot be overstated. They treated my trees, property, me, and my flock of chickens and ducks with a level of care and consideration practically unheard of in today's unfriendly business world. A right peach of a fellow, I recommend him hands down over any other arborist I have ever worked with. He has a real feel for trees, a real-life Lorax for the Carbon Valley and surrounds.

Colin drove to Idaho in February, he rigged up in climbing gear, climbed snowy slippery trunks and branches, and pruned many crossed twigs and branches, thinned, and reshaped three deciduous shade trees while they were dormant. The trees look so much better, they are balanced, rather than leaning with the wind, snow storms. He hauled debris to slash pile for winter, and raked small debris. Very professional and experienced. Job well done. Very pleasant personality.

Colin did an excellent job pruning several mature fruit trees in our orchard. Some of these trees had been neglected for years and needed thoughtful structural pruning rather than quick cuts, and he clearly knows how to approach fruit trees correctly.

He took the time to explain what he was doing and why, taught me proper watering, and how pruning and thinning impacts fruit production long-term.

What impressed me most was that he focused on the long-term health and structure of the trees, not just making them look tidy for the season.

If you're in the Firestone /Frederick area and need help with fruit tree pruning or orchard care, I highly recommend Colin. He’s knowledgeable, patient, and clearly cares about doing the work the right way.

We've used Gold Star a couple of times to install concrete walkways and patio stairs in addition to replacing the sid in our backyard. We were very happy with them. They responded quickly to our requests for a quote, arrived promptly and did a fantastic job. The entire crew were friendly and very competent, completing the projects on time and cleaned up the mess.

Travis, Payton and the rest of their team did an amazing job! They replied promptly, were punctual and had a rapid turnaround time. I never had to ask when they were coming, I was always updated. They identified where my sprinkler line was leaking and dug it up and promptly got it repaired. The work was excellent and the cleanup was terrific. They even helped me out with some landscaping issues while they were here. They were extremely helpful! I highly recommend them!
