Born Here, build here is what caught my eye. The expert work and personal service from David is what keeps me as a client.I hope we are lacking in hail this year, but if not Wood Street will get the job . David is a cut above the rest. Champion vs also ran.

Due to the last hail storm I had several parts of my house with damage.
David came in and took care all the damage.

My review is based on a few factors:
Initial conversation and eagerness to help: 5 stars.
Willingness to go into the attic, when other companies wouldn't :5 stars.
Overall communication about the project: 4 stars.
Working with my HO insurance: 2 stars. Started off great but some fatal errors were made almost resulting in my claim being denied, thankfully it wasn't but we had to jump through a lot of hoops to make them pay for everything.
Employed 'staff' aka the people they send to do the work while they oversee everything: 2 star. Had one guy smoking on my property and leaving the butts on my patio, his supervisor asked me not to tell WSB when I confronted him- not ok. Another worker would talk about trashing other jobs because he didn't get paid according to his desires. Only reason it is not a one star is the painting crew and electricians. They were great, professional and fast. Though not enough to truly make up for the others.
Job completion time : 3 stars. Was not overly excessive, but was drawn out but that was because of the issues with WSB paperwork and insurance. 4 implies great but not exceptional, so that is why it's not a 4. It was acceptable but not great.
Blaming client when there is a complaint:1 star. If I could it would be negative stars. The entire bathroom had to be redone including the floors. Three weeks after it was completed I contacted WSB because some paint was peeling by the tub and the baseboards were turning pink. I got a quick response about being more careful about putting water on my floor, because the only explanation is that I regularly flood my bathroom, right? Instead of there being a sealant problem, as it was discovered when they did finally come look at the bathroom.
Overall quality of the work: This I would have to break down further to quality of the work done inside versus outside. Outside would be an easy 4 stars. My whole house got resided and new windows put in. We got to pick all the colors and express ourselves which is nice. Not a 5 star simply because of the front door and back doors. The front door was painted and shut before it was dry (not by home owners) and thus when we opened it, the weather stripping was ripped off as well as some paint and little divets were left In The door. The back garage door was painted shut and we had a really tuff time getting it to open as a result. But overall a descent job.
Inside: 2 stars. When the windows were cut out they left chunks of drywall missing on the windowsills. They were very poorly fixed, You can still tell that they are there. When you spend a few grand ( we did the windows ourselves versus insurance) on nice top of the line windows you expect them to look nicer than you almost 40 year old and worn out previous windows. Because of the installation, the windows themselves look good but the whole picture doesn't. The bathroom is a bit chaotic. Caulking job is sloppy at best. Lots of little details not accounted for. Like the vanity drawers, put on crooked?!?!? Also we had originally
Picked out two vanity mirrors but decided the two together looked weird so we sent one back to Home Depot and requested simple shelves instead.... Never got shelves put in by WSB. When the job was "completed" we ended up doing it ourselves. Three holes in the kitchen walls were patched up by WSB, but even though they had the correct paint on hand they did not paint them and finish them. Interior painting (bathroom, spare room and kitchen ) is sloppy and patchy. We had problems with the carpet installation, but WSB was not at fault and dealt with it so our carpet looks great.

There was also an issue of agreeing to fix another item in my house, but after a month of dodging information and no progress I asked WSB if it would be better to find another company to complete that job and I was told that was a smart idea. So we did need to find another contractor.

So overall the rating would be a combination of scores: 5+5+4+2+2+3+1+4+2=28/9=3.11

Aaron was great at working with my insurance company and helping to explain things as we went through the process of getting our roof replaced. They did a great job of keeping everything cleaned up as they went along, you would not have known they even were here except for the beautiful new roof that we now have. I would highly recommend WSB to anyone!

The job was done quick, in a very non-evasive manner with an awesome crew. Job site was always clean at the end of the day and was completed sooner than expected. Steve was great to work with. I would recommend them for your roofing needs!

I am in the process of getting my roof replaced, along with new paint, gutters, and windows, all due to the Great hail Storm of the summer. I am SO thankful I had met David Ludtke and hired him for this job. His professionalism and friendliness is something I appreciate so much. I am a single mom of two teenagers and I work a busy job. The last thing I wanted was to have to stress about this process or wonder if I had chosen the right company. David has taken out all of the stress! My family is in capable hands. His crews have been wonderful and courteous as well. You can tell they like working for and with David. NO QUESTION ABOUT IT, this is who you need to TRUST to take care of your biggest investment!! I have had the crew from WSB work on 3 different projects at my home. Their attention to detail and dedication to getting you a quality end result are second to none. We had our basement finished and the team worked with us being transparent on budget and coming to the table with ideas on how to save yet maintain quality. For our roofing project, they were fast and kept our yard clean of debris. We also had a pergola put on our back yard and are extremely happy with the outcome. They are a great group to work with and will continue to use them in the future.

You can't go wrong by hiring Wood Street Builders, we have never had such a good experience when hiring someone for a project. David and his team put a metal roof on our home, our home is older so there was a sag in our roof and they fixed it properly and installed the roofing.

Our house sustained damage to the roof, gutters and paint as a result of a severe hailstorm that hit Northern Colorado on June 24th, 2014. David Luedtke at Wood Street Builders was the only contractor to get back to us with a bid (A very reasonable one I might add). The roofing company that replaced our roof only 3 years earlier didn't even bother to return our calls. That was a blessing because hiring Wood Street was the best decision we made. David was very thorough and identified additional damage that the insurance adjuster had missed. He worked with our insurance company to obtain supplements for all the needed repairs. He was onsite frequently to oversee the progress and always available through his cell phone. If I had to leave a message he always returned my calls promptly. His crews were very professional and completed the roofing and gutter repairs quickly. We had postpone painting until the Spring, but we every confidence that his team will do a stellar job with that as well. We recommended Wood Street Builders to our next door neighbors and would gladly recommend them to anyone else.

We had an issue with a window leaking and moldy siding underneath.
After talking with David a few times and understanding better the source of the problem, David gave us a reasonable quote and he and his crew arrived in our place a few weeks later. They were prompt and professional and completed the quality work in one day (in addition to fix another leaking issue next to our patio door).

I worked with Aaron Crawford, and he went above and beyond to make sure I understood the process for having my roof replaced. He answered all my questions, since this was my first time going through this process. He even came over to make sure a vent was patched before the work officially began! His expertise made the process so much smoother and less intimidating. The crew working on my house was professional and so efficient. They made sure my lawn was cleaned up and nail free before they left as well. My new roof looks great, and I’m so happy with the whole process!
