Ceglio Concrete just completed approx. 2400 sq. ft. project that wrapped around 3 sides of my house and I couldn’t be happier. Lucas is a pro, his communication and attention to detail is excellent, the price was right and to top it off, he’s a nice guy. I will be recommending him to family and friends. Well done, Lucas.

took down my review for having an account too new. Makes me think the site suspiciously controls/manipulates content. Ah well, here's to getting the word out.

I've had the pleasure of working with Ceglio concrete to put a new driveway, front porch, and walkways around my house.

I have nothing but good things to say about the experience from start to finish. The estimates were clearly drawn and broken down, his prices make sense compared to competitors around my area (livermore), payment and work schedule was followed to the tee' despite multiple change-orders, and the workmanship is top notch.

Every day they worked, they made sure my house is tidy and safed-off from pedestrian traffic, and everytime a snag comes up, Lucas is sure correspond instantly with solutions that are both cost effective and aesthetically-conscious.

I appreciate the care put into the project and the great customer service. I won't hesitate to call them again for my next project and I highly recommend them for anyone's concrete needs in the bay area.

Lucas and his crew did an amazing job demolishing and replacing an 80 year old driveway in Pleasanton. Communication was excellent and all parts of the job were on time and executed professionally and with outstanding craftsmanship. This job was a little tricky to deal with the water flow component but Lucas came up with a few great solutions. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs concrete work. It’s difficult to find contractors who deliver such an honest, professional (even enjoyable) experience.

Lucas and his team delivered exceptional work from beginning to end. They consistently arrived on schedule, addressed all my inquiries, and kept me informed about the timeline and any challenges that arose.

Our front yard has been elevated, with the new concrete as a beautiful focal point. Next, we will tackle landscaping!

We highly recommend Ceglio Concrete, if you want the job done right!

Great experience with Ceglio Concrete for our Downtown Livermore business sidewalk repair needs. Professional, efficient, on time and very reasonable cost for our project. Lucas also worked great with the city and its inspectors. Will definitely use again for any concrete project.

I would personally avoid this company.

Had virtually no experience with exposed aggregate concrete which is what we wanted and not available until September, 5 months from now.

Very nice completed project. Not a single bad thing happened. Shelby and his crew are a compliment to the industry. Hard to find this kind of crew, in my experience.

Had some cracking in relatively new concrete. I called and they scheduled an appointment and repair immediately. It was repaired in a matter of days perfectly. I find this company to be totally professional and can’t say enough. Hard to find this level of commitment nowadays.

    1. Extremely poor clean up. Left concrete all over everything, including large splashes discoloring the existing concrete. I didn’t see this at first because it was raining. Lost pieces of the existing patio pavers while pouring the pad. Left chunk of concrete in my lawn.
    2. Everyone on the crew had a different opinion of how they should do the drain, didn’t seem like anyone was really in charge
    3. And jere we are, six months after the job is complete, and there’s already a crack in my patio.

Experience with Modern Concrete was excellent. Crew was professional, friendly and committed to doing a great job. Finished project was exactly what we wanted. 5 stars for sure!

We had them do a concrete pad and fire pit for us. The project had a lot of extra details, like adding a French drain, moving a sprinkler, and including a control box and ventilation for the propane burner. It helps that they do landscaping also. Christian and his crew got every detail we asked for. They are a very busy company, so expect a long delay before they can get to you, but it's worth the wait. Once the work got started they finished quickly. I'd definitely hire them again.

I was very impressed with Modern Concrete. Very easy to work with and very professional. I had originally started with a different company, but they couldn't commit to a time to pour my RV pad. I called Modern Concrete on a Thursday and by next Tuesday I had concrete. Modern Concrete had a great team that each were assigned to a job. The lead foreman even called me and asked if my family would like to put their hand prints in the concrete. Coolest thing ever for my young family, they loved that. I cant express how impressed I was with the work. Their pricing was very fair also. Thank you again!

They did a great job installing curbing around my flower beds and trees. They showed up on time and finished when they said they would.

Modern Concrete did an excellent job pouring the concrete slab in my basement. It was a difficult task due to site logistics, but the crew made it look easy. Scott, Christian, and crew were all great to work with! Thank you!

We have worked closely with modern concrete for several years. They have always been prompt, professional, and responsive to us. This is hard to find in most concrete companies. Keep up the great work guys 💪🏻

Modern Concrete poured a shop pad and two smaller pads for me. They were great to work with and their pricing was very reasonable. I’m going to use them to pour a driveway addition this spring.

Scott and Shelby were great to work with! I had booked earlier in the year after seeing their booth at the Home and Garden show. We had some weather delays due to early Spring rains, which is to be expected of any construction project relying on mother nature, but the finished product came out better than I could have hoped for! The project foreman (sorry, didn't get a name) was VERY meticulous and took his time measuring everything multiple times before finalizing anything. He was very efficient in the demolition and haul-away, and double checked with me after everything was laid out to make sure I was happy with the curves in the sidewalk. The mini-excavator he was using accidentally brushed up against the house at one point (completely understandable working in very tight quarters), scraping the new paint around our front window, and he had repaired and repainted the area before we even had a chance to say something (nice job matching the color!). I look forward to having them finish off my backyard in 2020! Thanks guys, well done!

Have used these guys multiple times at two different homes. This year, they did two projects for us and both came out great. They are always professional, punctual and reasonably priced. Highly recommend Modern Concrete for your next project!

It was a terrible experience we didn't get what we wanted, we explained what we wanted and they said they could do it. By the time the concrete was on its way they shoved a piece of paper in front of our face and said sign this for the change or we have to send the truck away we where both under duress. It went down hill from there different textures and colors, brown patches, dark gray patches, shoe print unfinished vent well. My 89 year old father, with over 40 years in concrete said it looks like they where beginners they should of had somebody with experience guiding them. Sent pictures asking them to address these, nothing. I would not recommend them.

Let me start with I am not the paying client, my landlord is. MC came and re did the front steps of my business, a salon, I did not pay for it but my business was greatly affected by it.
I tried to make it very clear that our front entrance (that they were working on) was our only way to unlock and access the building. My landlord doesn’t have keys for any of the other doors. And I also tried to make it clear we were open for business 7 days a week.
I was told Friday by Christian it would be done Wednesday. Friday workers showed up at 10, left promptly at 11 for lunch. They used our bathroom, had visitors and spent most of their time vaping or on their phones. When they left at 2:30 to “go to another job” we asked about being finished Wednesday and he responded “we aren’t scheduled Wednesday, we won’t be here we have another job”
I decided to double check because again, the access to the front door is crucial. Christian reassured me it would be done Wednesday, mud was scheduled at 8am.
Tuesday when they left forms weren’t even built and I was skeptical but trusting because I double checked with Christian.
Wednesday at 7:45AM I send one of my employees to unlock the building and open another door so we had access later in the day because I was told mud was scheduled at 8am (twice)
Not a single worker came to our salon Wednesday. I called to ask for a timeline to tell my employees and again…access the front door. The receptionist told me they were “working on another job today”
She also realized we were a salon and she immediately said “I am so sorry. I’m sure you are open for business and this is very inconvenient. Someone should have contacted you to keep you up to speed. I will have Christian call you today”
Maybe it’s only women who understand this concept. Because she was great and understood exactly what I was needing and saying.
Christian still has yet to call me.
Someone did call my landlord and told her that the cement plant made bad cement and they had to remake all of it and that is why mud wasn’t poured at 8am.
Even though 2 employees (receptionist and worker) said they were on another job that day and no forms were made. They also told her mud was scheduled for 8am Friday.
My employee again comes early to unlock it and they did show up at 8am. They told us to be careful Saturday and it would be fine to walk on by Sunday.
The steps look okay, they damaged the building and railing, concrete is already chipped and they left a mess also their cones. I called Tuesday afternoon to ask if I am supposed to dispose of the cones and caution tape and the receptionist said she would call them and have them pick them up.
Here we are Tuesday at 10pm and their cones are still sitting on my front steps.
I don’t believe that Modern Concrete, Christian or any of their workers had ANY regard for us still being a business open for hours. I tried to communicate how important it was to have access and knowledge to the timeline. The receptionist was great, understanding and quick at her job. But again, I think that’s just a woman thing.
I’ve asked other high experienced contractors who do concrete and this should have been a 2-3 day job maximum. You don’t use the facilities and you pick up your things at the end. I’m just happy my landlord wasn’t paying them by the hour because it was painful to watch walking my clients out and every time seeing them vaping or on their phones. It’s no wonder it took them a week to pour 3 steps and a landing.
If you have all the time in the world to get a concrete job done or don’t care to be lied to over and over again by the man in charge then Modern Concrete is the place for you!!
