They do the job well and are good in communication in English. But because of their business model they took a long time to finish the job in our area.

Wonderful job removing our current circle of concrete to add a much larger square pad, they were on time, professional and the work was completed in two days! Beautiful concrete too! I highly recommend and I will use them again!

Around April 2012 the city of SJ ordered me to fix the sidewalk in front of my house because, according to them, the roots of the tree inside the property line buckled it up. I hired these people to do my sidewalk, my neighbor had the same order as his side of the sidewalk was busted up bad too so we had them do both jobs, which was quite convenient for them.

After the work was done the street lights in front of both my house and my neighbor were dead. Somehow my neighbor learned that while doing the sidewalk they busted the underground electrical and rendered the lights disconnected.
I called for them to come back and remedy the situation and I was met with evasion, hostility and the worst kind of verbal intimidation from the "manager".

After much complain to the city the, light in front of my house was somehow rerouted but my neighbor was in darkness for 2 years, recently, after much hassling, the city came and busted up the sidewalk and reconnected the lines. Now lights are back.

Maybe it's the city's fault for not doing a good job of inspection at the time of the incompetence (they probably thought it's just a formality, a nuisance that needs to be gotten over with quickly)
Still, I never forget the berating tone the "manager" used on me, his customer.

STOP MAKING OUR KIDS WALK IN THE ROAD!!!! These guys are fixing the only pavement we have, and instead of doing one section at a time or covering unfinished sections so that people can still keep off the road, they've closed off 1/2 mile of pavement and are forcing our kids to walk in the street. Who are these idiots that don't give a damn about how their work is impacting the people who live here? There's no reason kids walking from school can't walk on a little section of soil where you've removed a section of concrete paving. Stop closing the pavement and for Christ's sake - use your brains!

They don't care how their work impacts residents. We've had to complain to City of San Jose because kids walking from the nearby school now have to walk almost a mile in the road. A good company wouldn't completely block the only sidewalk kids must use to walk home from school.

Outstanding quality and service! Our backyard project was challenging because it's on a slope, CB was innovative and skillful. Their suggestions made a huge difference. We were truly impressed by how professional their crew was during the project. They did an amazing job

If you need a sidewalk and/or curb repaired, I heartily recommend these guys. Chris, the owner, squeezed us into a full schedule, since he had several other jobs nearby. Whether by phone or in person, they graciously answered any questions we had. They took out an impressive pile of invasive roots and added a sprinkler pipe under the sidewalk. The crews were obviously experienced, working thoroughly and efficiently. We're quite pleased with both the process and the result.

Sidewalk repair work per City requirements did not go well. The grinding work turned into sidewalk replacement. Although the sidewalk replacement went well, but now my paver next to the sidewalk is misaligned. Tried to get the company to fix their own mistake but was told that I would have to pay for additional & unnecessary repair work. The responsibility & accountability does not exist. I gave plenty of time for them to address their own mistakes but with no success. Very disappointed with the final outcome of this project.

Cons: cost, lack of communication, hard to get ahold of, not timely/postponed, left a mess for us to clean up.
Pros: work eventually got done.

Hired for city mandated sidewalk and curb replacement/repair. They postponed our work repeatedly. Said they’d get extensions for us for the inspection, but didn’t do it until I called and pointed out that they hadn’t done the work yet and our inspection deadline had passed. Workers finally showed up when we were leaving town again. Saw them piling debris in my garden bed and asked them to be certain they removed it before completing the job. They said they would… they didn’t. Came home to chunks of old concrete and dirt in multiple garden beds… like, a lot of it piled in. Left a huge mess behind on the road, as well. We had to sweep it and put it into multiple bags to clean up the road. We’ll have to shovel it out of the garden beds next. Now we have a long trench cut in the asphalt that they made when replacing the curb (they backfilled it with debris). No one warned us about this. It runs right over the main water line, gas line, etc. Not sure what we’re supposed to do about that. Neighbors used a different company and theirs looks great, no mess.

They were the lowest bid for what I needed done and did great work on time. Also, Lori was extremely helpful over the phone and email. I will definitely call them if I need any concrete work in the future.

Great experience with CB Concrete. The team was professional, reliable, and did excellent quality work. Everything was completed on time and the process was easy from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone needing concrete work done.

Shoddy work. I called the owner the day the work was finished. He promised to make it right if I would make the final payment. Shame on me for believing him. Making it right was an offer to comp materials if we repaid for labor. If you hire them don’t make final payment until you are fully satisfied. Also, I asked why a seam wasn’t put in a certain area (where driveway drops near end of driveway) and the owner said it’s never done like that. As I walked through neighborhoods I saw that seam in almost every driveway. A year later CB did my neighbor’s driveway exactly the way I had requested. He outright lied to me twice in the same phone call. I’m not sure if there’s a way for anyone to private message me, but I’d be happy to show you the work CB did for us.

CB Concrete Construction did an excellent job on our project from start to finish. The communication was clear, the crew was professional, and the quality of the work was outstanding. You can tell they take a lot of pride in what they do. It’s great working with a local, family-owned company that truly cares about doing things right. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing concrete or masonry work in the South Bay.
