Reviews of local pros in Ledyard, Connecticut

Zack and his team did a fantastic job on my yard! I had moved in a year ago and due to lack of time, I wasn’t able to keep up with my yard needs not to mention it was completely dug up for a septic replacement. During the initial walk through, Zack provided his knowledge and advice on how to make my yard better. Not only did they provide a fall clean up but they provided landscape work to give my house a little more curb appeal. I’ll definitely hire Zack and his team for more yard projects.

I highly recommend Spicer’s Lawn Care & Landscape Design. I needed a large shrub cut back for access to some chimney work. On extremely short notice, Zack came to my rescue. He did an extraordinary job on the never pruned 35 year old shrub! Thank you Zack and crew. I’ll be calling again soon!

We had just moved to CT and our new yard needed a full excavation, new paver walkway, rear patio and a lot of love. Enter Spicers Landscape Design. We were told we would not recognize the new space when they were done. That is the truth. Its an absolute oasis now. The crew came, saw and conquered the battle. Hard working and meticulous are the two words that come to mind. Choose Spicers! You will not regret it.

Great job... very easy to work with throughout big backyard redesign and reconstruction. Zach brings calm leadership and creative design ideas that expertly reflect our desires. It's easy to understand why Spicers is top-rated among Best of Mystic surveys!

I would highly recommend Spicers Lawn Care & Landscape Design LLC! My property was completely overgrown with weeds and I needed the yard cleaned up quick. They were able to fit me in the schedule within days and the work they did was outstanding! Completely transformed my yard to looking new! Reasonable pricing, great work, professional and personable. I will definitely be using them in the future for bigger projects or just regular yard maintenance!

I reached out to Zack after a water main repair on my property demolished my stone wall and dealt the death blow to an already-hurting lawn. His crew did a phenomenal job rebuilding the wall - better than it looked before - and did a complete new lawn installation complete with new topsoil and grading. I've been pleased with the result and Zack was responsive, professional and great to work with.

Well maybe they are big, but not polite. Called from a quote with mowing and lawn care. The "man" I spoke to had quite the attitude. Karma dies exi

Spicers installed a patio with a garden surround. Zack had helpful suggestions and the team was meticulous about their work. The garden is now planted, we’re enjoying the patio, and the surrounding yard is in better shape than before they arrived.

All I can say about Spicer’s is WOW, what a fantastic result! I called them to grade and stone my driveway which was a terrible mess. They were responsive, communicative, efficient, and professional. The job was done quickly and meticulously and it looks better than I could have imagined. Thank you, Spicer’s!

Shout out to Spicer's Landscaping who came out today and did excellent work on our arborvitae trees. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and explained everything. They also cleaned up everything and left our yard looking better than ever!! Thank you

The team was professional from the beginning of my project until the end. Zach Spicer notified me promptly when I sent out a request, and the work was completed in less than a week's time. He also answered any questions or concerns I had, and he made appropriate suggestions when I asked for ideas.

My front lawn, needed lots of care, Zach and his crew at Spicers did a great job. Looks good. Now we just rain. Thank you so much

Zack and his crew replaced what used to be a kid’s playscape with sod. They prepared the ground, brought in topsoil and magnificent sod. The outcome was great. I would highly recommend Zack Spicer and his crew.

Over the last several years, we developed a drainage issue on one side of our house. The old French drain along the back of our property was over 30 years old and definitely ready for retirement. I called Spicers Lawncare after reading their positive reviews, and I’m happy to say I can now add mine to the list.

Zach was quick to respond to my initial message and provided a reasonable quote within a couple of days. Not long after, he and his crew (along with River—don’t worry, not the flooding kind!) were on-site installing the new drain. It was a big job, but they were professional, efficient, and got it all done in a single day, including cleaning up the area afterward.

It’s been about a month, and the mud pit out back is finally gone. I’m planning additional landscaping work and will definitely be calling Zach again.

Adding front and back walkway/ patio areas marks the third time in three years I have hired Spicer lawn care for a major job. Zack Spicer and his crew are talented, experienced and professional. From stone selection suggestions to design ideas, Zack helped get the project off to the right start. We were working with the challenge of me as homeowner being out of state, yet Zack kept me updated with photos as work progressed. And crucially when I did not care for the standard funnel transition from path to stair, Zack pleasantly and promptly changed it to squared off.
Prior to this job, Spicer conducted major yard/ tree work and filled in a pool. I highly recommend Spicer and his crew.

I called on a Friday and they were able to start the following week. A major yard renovation reclaiming a large portion of my property after 20 years of neglect (I’ve been here for less than 2 years). An amazing transformation! All areas were overgrown with brush and small trees and have been cleared and seeded.

I called weeks ago to get a quote. Zack picks up the phone right away and came in on Sunday. After that he shoot me an email with quote couple days later and get it done today! Zack and his team did a really good job clean out and prep the area before laying the stones. The result came out so good!! Love you guys, keep it up!

Very reliable, hard-working team. They built a beautiful retaining wall quickly, yet with expert craftsmanship. Very reasonable rates and responsive to messages. Highly recommend!

Working with Zachary was a real pleasure. He offered helpful suggestions for our stepping stone project to ensure the walkway worked with our little cottage. The flagstones his crew installed were perfect for our project. Zachary’s crew arranged the stones esthetically and after the job was complete the yard was ship shape and cleaned of any dirt and debris . I would recommend Spicers Landscaping .

Zack and his team were fantastic! After my previous lawn service disappeared, they came to the rescue with a last-minute mowing. I called in the afternoon, and they were able to come by the same day and take care of everything. They did a great job mowing, weed whacking, and blowing all the debris so the yard looked perfect. I was so impressed with their quick response and attention to detail.

I am very happy with the work that was accomplished on our lawn. The recent drought made our already bad looking lawn worse looking so we decided we wanted a lawn with green and healthy growing grass. Zack responded to our call and provided expert advice that helped us decide what to do. He quickly gave us a price for the work that was competitive. Also his schedule to do the work was accurate and accomodated our needs. The work done was quality and professional. Tree limbs that could shade the grass were removed. After power raking, 2" of top soil was added as a base for the hydroseeding that followed the next day. The crew for that work was also outstanding. I recommend Zach Spicer for your lawn needs. He is responsive and dependable.
