James and Ashley were both extremely professional and attentive during the quoting process. The job itself was very well done and they even cleaned up after they removed the trees. I would highly recommend A Cut Above and will use them for any future tree removal needs.

James and his crew cut a large tree down for me today and also removed a big widow maker from a large oak in my front yard. Couldn't be more please with his work. Very Professional and knowledgeable! I highly recommend!

James and the crew did a phenomenal job removing 4 large maples and one HUGE maple. He did an incredibly thorough job, even limbing and removing a few dangerous branches he happened to notice in the area. Two of our neighbors took note of the efficient and neat work being done and hired A Cut Above on the spot to remove some of their trees. (hooray for us!) We had plans to pick up sticks and mow the lawn the following day, but our yard was actually neater after the tree removal than before. The crew even left us some split wood and small logs stacked for seasoning, and removed the larger logs we weren't interested in. If you're looking for a professional tree service who will take care to leave your property in better shape than when they arrived, A Cut Above are the people to hire. Looking forward to working with them again!

Amazing amazing amazing!! James and his crew cut down over 13 trees and ground all the stumps. The were professional, knowledgeable, and extremely reasonable in price. They cleaned up the area were they worked and left the place looking like there was never a tree there. Highly highly recommend!!

James was quick to come out to Meriden when I called and give a quote. He prioritized my tree as a safety risk which it was. He was quick to schedule and on time for every appointment. He photographed the process of removal to document the tree’s decay. He and his crew worked efficiently and cleaned up beautifully. I would rehire him without question.

A Cut Above has lived up to their name! They did an amazing job at removing two huge trees from our yard. I called various other places only to not hear back. A Cut Above called me back the day I first reached out and came to quote me a couple days later. A week after that they were at my house removing the trees! Very professional and extremely skilled. They were nice and personable the entire time. We have wanted these trees removed for years and it is incredible looking into our yard and seeing how big it is! I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for tree removal!

My wife and I needed 9 trees removed out of our backyard in Southington, Connecticut. We called several tree companies and only two were willing to come to view the job and give us an estimate. We knew it was going to be a very difficult job, but James Stevens, the owner of A Cut Above Tree Service in Plantsville, CT, came up with a very clear plan and a reasonable quote given the complexity of what we were asking. The plan was to use a (very tall!) crane to basically 'pluck' the trees out of the backyard and deliver them to for chipping and logging. Very impressive to watch. We also asked for pruning on one of our bigger trees. From the delivery of the estimate to the day-before notification, the communication was timely and clear (thanks, Ashley!). On the day of the job, the crew was on time, ready to work, and stayed until the job was completed (including a significant amount of clean-up, which was much appreciated). Furthermore, in the middle of the job, we asked them to take out another tree and they readjusted their plans on the fly. They, of course, added to their original estimate for the extra work, but it was very reasonable (particularly after we saw how much work the additional tree turned out to be). Everyone was so friendly, very professional, and a pleasure to work with. James also took the time to talk about the health of some of our other trees, just so we could keep an eye on them. I can't recommend this tree service highly enough to anyone looking for tree service big or small.
