Kyle came in and took care of a huge drainage issue in our backyard. He put in over 200’ of pipe in a couple days and completely fixed the problem. I would highly recommend his professional services to those looking to get the job done right the first time.

I had problems with a clogged basement drain and cracks in my foundation wall. I had hired a couple of different plumbers over the years when the problem first started, but never was the it fully addressed. After major flooding in my basement on Christmas Day, I remembered a friend of mine recommending Kyle and his contracting business. He was professional, knowledgeable, and kept me informed so I could make the right decisions as things unfolded. After talking with at least 5 other companies with very high estimates or not even following up, I found Kyle. He was quick to respond, came out and gave an estimate that far beat others and his time frame was very quick. He was excellent to work with. Him and his crew were professional, did a fantastic job, very thorough, completed the work in a few days with 250 feet of pipe, removed a lot of ledge, put in pavers outside our basement walkout and put in some stone under the deck to help with other run off. I really can not recommend him highly enough. I will absolutely use him hands down again if we ever need work done in other areas of our property. It was such a pleasure working with him.

1 YEAR LATER: I had work done by Kyle and his crew a little over a year ago so this is a follow up post. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!! My basement is still dry as a desert whenever it rains (used to fill up anywhere from a puddle to a foot of water). It is wonderful to no longer be concerned with rain when you live in New England. So happy I contacted Kyle - best decision!!

Our tired, eroding walkway and terraced area urgently needed repair and replacement. After a series of disappointing responses and non-responses from other contractors, I asked Kyle for his opinion. He quickly proposed a solution that re-imagined the area with a terrific low, curving stone wall and cobblestone edging in place of the crumbling old railroad ties. Kyle’s crew were skilled, efficient and amazingly fast as they constructed the wall and completely re-laid the brick walkway. Very impressive (and entertaining to watch them work :). As a result, I expanded the job to include rebuilding several other stone walls and re-habbing another brick walkway. Kyle and crew certainly deserve their reputation for providing high quality solutions in a professional, timely, efficient and conscientious manner.

Kyle is a very thorough professional and expert in drainage. We had drainage issues at our home and he not only came to diagnose the problem and fix things, he followed up multiple times to make sure that our property was doing ok after significant rainfall. Who does that these days? That's how you know that he cares about his customers and is willing to do whatever it takes to do the job right. Although we hope to not have any problems with mother nature in the future, Kyle would be the first person we call if we did.

I hired D Kyle Stearns Contracting Inc to do a job for me around my home in Storrs ct... I spent a lot of time trying to reach other contractors with no luck .. or not wanting to do small jobs .. either way Mr Stearns got back to me in a timely manner .. came to my home . Checked over the job and I was given a quote .. I accepted with the claus that it might be a bit more considering it was underground and not visible... I wasn't able to get other quotes due to no return calls from other contractors very unprofessional... I have to say my job was done to perfection!! Mr Stearns and his crew are top notch in every aspect and no question they will be my first call in any future jobs!!

I contracted Kyle to layout and install a new drainage plan for my backyard. He accepted the challenge, gave a reasonable estimate, scheduled a date, continually updated me as to the status of the date and how long it would take. He was spot on, including weather delays. Kyle took care of a major water issue at my house by installing drainage. The driveway would freeze over and be very slick due to water constantly flowing down. He was fair and did an excellent job. The water is now captured and redirected. Will use him for future jobs.

Kyle & the crew excavated & installed a 250 foot long Curtain Drain on my property back in April of 2024. They were very Professional & Knowledgeable. They started the job on time & always responded to my questions in a professional manner. The drainage system continues to function well.

Kyle and his team are experienced and knowledgeable. The work is precise and very well done and they clean up well. However, I don’t appreciate the price of the job changing from beginning to end. It’s not like I can say no when you’ve already trenched my yard.
