Tree reviews in Thomaston, Connecticut

I’m very satisfied with A1. They called me back quickly. Steve came out to quote and noticed some additional trees that should be trimmed, and he included those in a very fair quote. He’s also just a nice guy to talk to. The crew did the work well. Thanks A1!

Scott and his crew are very professional. There prices are competitive. Completely removed 4 dead trees, chipped everything up and took them away. One was probably 18" - 20" in diameter. They were very good at cleaning up the mess afterward. I could hardly tell they were here and the trees were in the front of my house. I highly recommend them! I will be calling them again!

I had a great experience with A-1 Tree. I had quite a large job of taking down some dead trees, clearing brush, etc. A-1 Tree Service was responsive, professional. and super easy to work with. I also had a lot of fun watching these experts at work. I definitely recommend and would use again. Thanks!

I had two very large trees that were in very close proximity to my house and various other sensitive items… a shed, propane tank, and septic tank/system. They removed both trees with minimal evidence they were ever here. The service was prompt and their office crew was very attentive to all my questions and needs. Most of all their price was extremely competitive and more than fair based on the work they undertook. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future.

They were very timely, came out a couple days after giving us a very fair price! They did a great job and worked fast & efficiently. I would highly recommend them!

A-1 Tree Service is outstanding! My phone call was returned promptly (thanks Karen!) and Steve came out the next day (earlier than initially planned to beat the spring snow storm!) to give us an estimate. (Another tree service said the job was too big.) We had been worried about these two HUGE pine trees for a while and Steve agreed they were the top priority on our property. The crew showed up the following Monday and got to work straight away. My husband and I kept going out to watch the process because it was so cool! Shout out to Kevin! I may have developed a (non-harassing) crush. (We’re not worthy!!) He is AMAZING!! Kevin (Marine veteran) is the climber and the feller and was incredible to watch as he climbed, swung, and chain-sawed his way through the two ponderous pines, from the very first branch until the final, perfectly placed drops of both trees. A-1’s crew and (also cool) equipment buzzed around efficiently underneath gathering the branches and brush to feed the chipper- who knew they could handle such large branches?!!- or pile the huge logs for removal later. The Vermeer ‘gatherer’ was fun to watch as it lifted logs that seemed to weigh more than it did!! Apparently, our yard is not user-friendly to any type of service, but the company persevered and pushed through all the challenges. Sorry!! DEFINITELY recommend A-1 Tree Service and will call them again when we need them!

A-1 removed this diseased tree by the road which was kind of an eye sore and perhaps also at risk of coming down on its own sometime. They were quick, neat and reasonably priced especially compared to my landscaper who quoted me $1200 more!

Thank you to Steve and his amazing crew for the amazing job of removing 10 trees for us. He returned my husband‘s call promptly and even came a day earlier than originally scheduled. Steve is honest, professional, punctual, reliable and very reasonably priced. They are hard-working guys that take a lot of pride in their work and are very skilled. I highly recommend A-1 Tree Service and would definitely hire them again.

Friendly, available, skilled, timely, they are just what we needed for all the dead ash trees. The best part is Steve listens and will do just what you ask and adjust if the cost is too high. Skill and experience is not cheap!

The entire team was professional and hard working. The climber was masterful and beyond talented in his work. I was in awe of his abilities. They cleaned up like it was their own property. Highly recommend!!

Professional and extremely responsive.
Communication was top notch. The crew was expedient and did a spit shine job. Thanks Steve and Karen 👍

Steven came out for a quote, and he was super professional and upbeat! He said he could get the job done the following Monday and he did. He showed up on time, actually a few minutes early and got right to work.. His crew got right to work clearing brush as he was cutting the branches down. Communication was great start to finish! Definitely recommend A-1, and will definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for tree removal. I will use this company again! Thanks again A-1 Tree Removal!

Litchfield hills here.
A-1 Tree Service definitely the appropriate name for this company.
Owner Steve came out for an estimate promptly and addressed all of our concerns regarding the dead massive oak and hickory tree limbs including two dead standing trees plus various trimming over driveway on our property.
His crew came out a few days later executing a flawless and professional job.Not only impressed with the high skill level, also with the high safety awareness to themselves and property.
The crew members were respectful and made you, as a homeowner feel confident knowing you made the right choice. The wood we chose to keep was cut into small logs and stacked in neat piles. They left the property clean and in order.Thank you Steve and entire crew for taking such good care of us.
No more searching...A-1 is our only choice.

5/5 Stars - Incredible Emergency Service!I cannot recommend A-1 Tree Service highly enough! A massive tree fell directly across my driveway, completely blocking us in. I called them and received an immediate response. The owner, Steve, came out to my house right away to assess the situation. He didn't just coordinate the job—he rolled up his sleeves and cleared the entire driveway himself in a remarkably short amount of time. Steve was professional, efficient, and a lifesaver during a stressful moment. If you need reliable, fast, and high-quality tree service, call A-1 Tree Service first!
