Reviews of local pros in Torrington, Connecticut

I found Owen’s Tree Expert to be a reliable, respectful, and hard-working team. The owner is top-notch and provided excellent pricing. They did a great job, including safety for workers and care for our property. I would highly recommend Owen’s Tree Expert and will continue to use them in the future.

Owen's Tree Expert is a fantastic company. We needed several dead trees cut, and downed branches removed. The resulting wood chips were spread around, and large trunks hauled away. The landscape looks amazing! We called and within 2 weeks, the job was done - at a fair price. Owen and his team are a professional outfit who work strategically and consider safety at all times. Our expectations were beyond met, and we'll definitely hire them again.

They did a phenomenal job, cutting down two very large trees that were not healthy and close to our house. Jose was very responsive, came over the same day we called, gave us a very reasonable price, and they were able to come within a few days. Highly recommend!

I hired Owen’s to remove a very large evergreen tree that had begun to invade my neighbor’s property and tree. I also had him remove limbs from trees that were close to my newly installed roof. I have numerous shrubs that needed pruning. They did an amazing job and also a clean up that was far beyond what I had expected. I not only highly recommend Owen’s but will also hire them again next spring to again prune my shrubs.

Jose Vigil and his crew came to take down two incredibly tall maple trees that grew around the utility lines on the property. Both trees needed to be climbed to have the large branches precisely cut off, pulled upward to release from the utility lines, and then carefully dropped to the men below. It was a very intricate and painstaking process. These trees were located in the back of the property where a bucket truck could not access. In addition, all the branches, logs from the trunk, and larger trunk bases had to be hand cut even more when they were on the ground before they could be hand carried to the wood-chipper and truck to be removed form the property. This job showed great skill, knowledge, strength, and fortitude of the 5-man crew under the leadership of Jose. The clean-up was pristine. Jose cut for us 4 base slices of the tree trunk for a family member to make into coffee tables. I believe this company takes pride in their work, is easy to work with during the job process, and is considerably thoughtful with neighbors having any concerns about the tree removal process. I highly recommend this company for your future tree work. They come in with a fair and reasonable price. Karen Marie S. Waterbury

We had a lot of dead branches on our tall oak and maple trees that we needed cleaned up to keep them healthy and prevent possible storm damage. Jose and his crew arrived on time, were professional, responsive, and they thoroughly cleaned up after the job was finished. I'd recommend them to anyone in need of tree work.

What a pleasure working with this professional. Jose responded promptly, communicated effectively, and was flexible on-site as the job morphed a bit. I won't hesitate to contact him again -- nor should you!

Owen’s Tree Expert did an exceptional job removing our 100-foot oak and four other large trees. The main oak stood directly over our septic leach field, requiring precision and care. We are very picky with companies working on our property, and my wife was tired of calling around for quotes, and not feeling completely satisfied with the knowledge and experience of the company, until we took the recommendation of a friend who had tree work done by Owens’s tree, expert. The team handled the project flawlessly. Every log was carefully roped and lowered, with no damage to our lawn or driveway.
Their crew worked safely, efficiently, and respectfully, using top-notch equipment and showing true professionalism throughout. Cleanup was thorough—our yard was left spotless, and the logs were neatly stacked for firewood.
Owen’s Tree Expert earned our trust with their honesty and expertise. The results was money well spent.

(Funny note: I share the same last name as the company, but this is a genuine, unbiased review from a very satisfied customer!)

These guys are unbelievable! Phenomenal work. Great communication from quote to finish. Easy to schedule -just give a call. Owner came next day for a quote. The job they did is out of this world. Took down two enormous trees (one that was rotted) in a few hours. The crew chipped all the branches and cut the timber into firewood size logs and stacked perfectly neat and out of the way. Used a blower to clean up debris after the job. Left the yard looking like they were hardly there. Such a relief to have those trees down. Friendly crew, professional and excellent! Don't hesitate.

Jose gave me a reasonable estimate, did the job in the same week and the clean up was amazing. I would not hesitate calling him again. If your looking for someone reliable, honest and professional, you owe it to yourself to call him. He may not be able to fit you in the time frame I was lucky enough to get, but well worth the wait if he can't. Very impressed. They went above and beyond. The trees were very close to the house and there was very little room to work. They were down unbelievably fast and at the same time, I am pretty sure I could hear Jose singing. A pleasure to meet him, and I will be using his services on upcoming projects. Thank you Jose.

5 star all the way. Went above and beyond to come and get moo moo out of the tree within the hour. We searched all night and morning for her. She was up higher than animal control ever saw a cat. Went nice and smooth and than he cut some tree limbs in the front yard while he was there. Cannot thank you enough.

Jose and his team did an amazing job helping to transform my back yard. Very respectful and kind. Would recommend them to anyone!!!! Thank you Jose!!

Jose was exceptionally expert in safely removing trees in my yard. I am very pleased with the results. I would recommend him for any tree trimming or tree removal tasks.

The Owen’s Tree Expert was very professional and got the job done with ease! They took a couple trees down that were a hazard to our home/land and they did an excellent job! They were efficient, kind, and very knowledgeable in their field! Would recommend to anyone no matter how big or small the tree you need removed is!

Owens Tree Service was outstanding! I used them to remove two large trees very close to my house and deck. They were quick but safe and cleaned every thing up! I will use them for all my work going forward. Highly recommend!

We were impressed with the young men from Owen’s tree expert. They took down several trees and trimmed up the rest of them. The cleanup was immaculate. They were very professional and worked hard all day to get the job done. The owner very courteous and knowledgeable in his field. Our neighbors were even impressed and a couple of them asked for an estimate. We would definitely use them again if needed and highly recommend this company to anyone.

I'm Mike T's next door neighbor - Our other neighbor recommended José and his team after that massive 100+ foot twin pine tree fell on our house. They were here in minutes and worked hard all day to cut it up and take it away. They also put up a temporary tarp on our roof until we could get a better one. Then we had them remove a few more 100+ foot trees on our side of the property near the one that fell. We had gotten astronomical quotes from other companies in the past. Theirs was very reasonable by comparison, plus their work is amazing, thorough, and fast. Now we can sleep at night and not have to worry that a tree is going to fall on us in bed. They are very knowledgeable, professional, hardworking, honest, and a pleasure to deal with - We can't recommend them enough!

Owen’s Tree did an absolutely outstanding job taking down our 100-foot oak tree, and four other large size trees! This wasn’t a simple job; the large oak tree was positioned directly over our septic leach fields and required extra care and precision. From start to finish, their team demonstrated an incredible level of expertise and professionalism.
All the logs were carefully roped and lowered not a single stump or branch was dropped which can cause damage to our new driveway or lawn. The crew worked with precision and respect for our property, ensuring complete safety at all times. Their attention to detail was second to none.
They also went above and beyond with cleanup, leaving our yard looking neat and organized. The logs were stacked perfectly in an easy-to-manage pile, ready to be cut for firewood.
Owen’s Tree’s equipment was clearly top-notch and well-maintained, allowing them to handle a large, complex job with efficiency and care. They were quick, yet never rushed, a true sign of a skilled and confident team.
Above all, they were honest, fair, and professional in every interaction. The pricing was very reasonable for the high quality of work and the level of safety they maintained throughout.
I can’t recommend Owens Tree highly enough. If you’re looking for a company that combines expert knowledge, safety, professionalism, and fairness, look no further Owens Tree is the one to call! We had gotten 3 quotes, and while he was not the cheapest from the three companies, we contracted with him because we sensed a high level of honesty and expertise in our interaction.
My best friend in Harwinton had work done by Owens Tree in August, and recommended I call them after she had 5 tree removed. I couldn’t believe how right she was, because they exceeded my expectations. Paying to get trees cut is a reluctant expense, but seeing what they did, it was money well spent.
Funny Disclosure: While Owen’s Tree and me share the same last name, this is an unbiased review, by a real customer who coincidentally shares their company name with my last name, however, there is no relation.

Call Jose for a quote. You won’t have to call any other tree company, because Owen’s Tree is the company to call!!!

Owens Tree Experts certainly live up to the name. Our neighbors house was damaged by two large pines that came down on their house during a storm. As they were clearing this damage I asked the boss to give me a quote for the removal of some pines on my property as I didn’t want the same fate. He was over the next day and gave us an estimate. We accepted as it was reasonable for the task. The biggest was over 130’ another 120’ and several more were 100’+. One was rotted through and they told us we are lucky that didn’t come down. They took down a total of eight. The teamwork and professionalism was amazing. The clean up was incredible. They even took care of some areas beyond the scope of the job. I recommended them to another neighbor and would do so to anyone else. I plan to have them back in the future for more work.

Phenomenal experience! Found Jose and his company through a flyer in my mailbox and then looked at all the high reviews here on Google. So glad I used him and his team. They took down 2 trees (one of them quite large) and trimmed another. Cleaned up everything so nicely when they were done. Reasonable prices. Overall I will definitely use them again for future tree work and wholeheartedly recommend them!

Fantastic job! highly recommend for any tree cutting or trimming. Super fast and efficient on time extremely respectful and courteous!
