Custom Home Builder reviews across the US

Sun Bay Builders have been nothing but a pleasure to work with. The owner Mike, is so attentive to our needs and goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. What a breath of fresh air to say the least! Without hesitation I would recommend them with 100% confidence!

Sun Bay Builders was contracted to renovation and update our 6600 square foot commercial office property. Mike and his team were a pleasure to work with throughout the entire construction process. Our new office space required a complete facelift/update –entering the building the very first time felt as if we stepped back in time to the 70’s. Mike and his team worked hand in hand with our designer and created a new and updated office building which immediately brought the building into today’s time. Quality of construction was superb… Quality and workmanship and pride of ownership was just outstanding. Mike and his team well exceeded our every expectation.
Absolutely recommend Sun Bay Builders for any construction need – Large or small – Sun Bay should be your first and only choice when looking to hire a contractor for your next construction project.

Sun Bay Builders renovated our 99 year old home including kitchen, floors,
electrical, bathrooms, and foundation. We are pleased with the finished work
and overall experience.

Several things distinguish Sun Bay from other General Contractors in the
local area. First, they were competitive in pricing and estimating the
effort for the job. Second, they have been in business for over 25 years and
have a network of reputable sub contractors. So, progress was made every
week. Third, Sun Bay quickly responded to any minor issues with the job
performed several months after the job was complete.

Sun Bay is family run business. We truly enjoyed the personal, family touch
which made for an even more pleasant renovation experience. Our home seemed
as important as their own home.

We could not be happier with the outcome of our pool cabana project. From beginning to end, the work is first rate. This is our fourth time to use Sun Bay for home improvements. We have never had to have anything done over that Sun Bay has completed. They hire only the best licensed sub contractors for the job. There is always someone from Sun Bay available to talk or text and handle any problem that might arise. Sun Bay Builders is always our first and only choice for major home construction.

I went through a whole house renovation and as a full time business owner I had to undertake this project on my own. I was able to run my business while Sunbay managed the project from start to finish. They were very professional from the detail of contract to the finished product exceeding my every expectation. The whole team including subs, did an awesome job with workmanship and staying on schedule. They care about the outcome and meeting their customer expectations. I highly recommend them for any construction, remodel, design project. I'm very happy with the finished product and love my home!

Andy and team are great to work with. They are knowledgeable in their craft and really listen to their customers.

We did an addition/remodel and construction is a daunting, stressful time. Mike and his crew made everything easy. From having someone on the job every day to helping us with design decisions. They were there every step of the way. The outcome is amazing we love our new home!

We had a fantastic experience with Sun Bay Builders. They did a complete renovation and addition to our 1980’s home. Basically everything was renovated or replaced down to the studs and a new family room, master bathroom and porch were added. Mike Miano, Superintendent Jason, and their entire team were very professional during the process and were very responsive to our many requests and change orders. They are a very ethical and professional company and provided quality workmanship with great attention to details. We would not hesitate to use Sun Bay again on any future construction projects.

We picked the perfect contractor for our major house renovation and expansion when we found Sunbay Builders. From the start to finish and now in the follow up phase they have been excellent. We started by meeting with Mike and his father Mike, who gave realistic numbers in cost and time. Chip, the construction supervisor, and all their employees were a pleasure to deal with. When we ran into problems or delays, as inevitably will happen, we worked our way through them together to the satisfaction of both parties. In this time of construction boom, finding a contractor that has good reliable sub-contractors is critical. Being in the business for over thirty years and highly respected, they have a long list of sub-contractors that are reliable and do quality work.
If we ever do a project again, Sunbay will the people we go to. After such a long project we feel like they are family now.

Mike and his team completely renovated our 1950's cottage plus built a garage and studio apartment to custom plans from Allen Vellario at Davis Designs. The work took more time and money than planned BUT the quality end product is beautiful throughout. Sun Bay turned a tired cottage into a forever home. As PM, Mike successfully worked through tricky permitting and remained responsive when issues arose.

Mike and all of his employees at Sun Bay were such a pleasure to work with! They were professional, reliable, clean, and respectful of my time and home!! It can be challenging living through a home renovation while still occupying the home. I can honestly say Sun Bay made this such an easy and pleasant experience! I can not express my gratitude enough! We love the outcome of our new bathroom and closet! They were wonderful to work with and I hope to do business with them again in the future.

Their attention to detail is great. They are also good at keeping us inform on progress. I am very please with the results.

KC Custom Builders did an outstanding job on my kitchen/bath/living room remodel. They were professional and easy to work with.

Very happy with my new primary bathroom. It was a full gut renovation. Nathan and his team did excellent work. Very professional, timely, tidy, and easy to work with.

We have done two significant kitchen remodels with KC - the first in 2019 and the second in 2023. In both cases the work was done with care and the results were excellent. The unexpected things which always turn up in remodels were dealt with honestly and fairly. We would recommend KC without reservation if you want a high quality job done.

Working with Nathan Casey was an absolute pleasure. He is extremely skilled, pays careful attention to every detail, and employs sub-contractors that share his enthusiasm for craftsmanship. I have many friends who were not so lucky with their contractors and suffered through their projects. The experience with Nathan was exceptionally positive. He estimated the budget very accurately and kept to it. I highly recommend KC Custom Builders.

KC Builders did an excellent job on our Condo in Berkeley. They full remodeled two bathrooms but when we removed the walls we found significant dry root in both bathrooms. They worked with the city to get new permit requirements meet and were very clear on the work to be done to fix this and the cost. Berkeley permit department was very difficult in all aspects but KC Builders handled this very professionally and shielded us from them. In the end everything was perfect, the city was happy and my wife and I were very happy.

KC custom builders were absolutely fantastic to work with. All very professional, really great team, got things done as timely as one can possibly be in the environment we are in. The final result was our dream home! Could not recommend the more highly

We engaged with KC Custom Builders, specifically Nathan Casey, as one of several contractors we were considering for our project. They did not end up fitting our needs for this particular project, but we are eager to work with them in the near future. Going through the budgeting process with them was extremely valuable. They were knowledgeable, responsive, and detailed. The communication was thorough, candid, and extremely helpful. Additionally, we were able to visit one of their finished projects and were extremely impressed with the quality of work. The owner was very complimentary of their experience - any issues that arose (as they do in construction) were always addressed to their satisfaction. This was our first time remodeling and working with contractors and Nathan was proactive in considering what we should know and what would set up our home for long-term durability. It was clear to us that they would have ensured a high quality of work and had the best interest of our home in mind.

KC Custom Builders did an extensive remodel of our kitchen in mid-2019. The result was great and we hit our budget and (almost) timeline despite some of the surprises that always come with this kind of project.

Nathan, who personally managed the project for us, was outstanding to work with, managed the subs beautifully, and rolled up his sleeves when needed to stay on track. We also want give a special shout out to Jesse who was the lead on the construction work. He was reliable, courteous, professional, and did excellent work.

We are delighted with the result and, while a remodel is always disruptive, KC Custom made it a very positive experience.

Thanks to working with a terrific contractor, KC Custom Builders, i now have my dream kitchen. And we did the work during the challenging limitations of COVID supply chain disruptions. Flexibility is an important feature when I work with anyone. KC Custom gets very high marks for flexibility and their ability to collaborate with a designer and the client.
