Constraction reviews in Bradenton, Florida

You simply can not find a better construction company than Adkins Built.
First they are honest!, secondly they do quality work the first time, last and most importantly they stand behind their work! One phone call and they are at the ready to complete your request.

I work for an architect in downtown Sarasota and we use this local builder a lot, and I have to say they do a great job and can handle anything in we throw at them! (specially the tricky stuff!!) Awesome team of professionals over there.

Adkins Building & Construction is at the top of my list of all time great experiences within the construction business. Mark and his team were very professional and went above and beyond to get my job completed. I am so happy I called them, I don't know of any other company who would have done what they did to complete my very unique and complicated project. Thanks again to the whole team!

I have know James Adkins for over a year & have been on several of his projects. Besides the quality of workman ship the are a few things that are standouts, the work space is always clean & his crew that is on site are people that you would not mind having in your home. Also he is a great guy to work with.

We hired them to knock a wall down to the exterior of our house and install custom made sliding glass doors. They were always on time and did a professional job. The guys were careful and cleaned up the jobsite each day. They always answered the phone or returned text messages promptly. I would choose them again.

This is the best company I've ever had work on our house. From initial consultation to even coming back after the job was done to hang fixtures. JR built is a custom bathroom barn door that we love.
Thank you to the whole crew, just a class act. Plan on Uzumaki them again.

Kudos to the team at Adkins having interacted with all...and high five for the expertise of the window installer who's skill set is top level. We love our 15 new Simonton impact resistant windows. Not only does this add to the exterior "curb appeal" of our home but also the ambiance inside is quieter. The project price was reasonable and Adkins will be bidding on the list of projects I have planned for 2020 ...new front door....gable improvement etc. Happy New Year to all! Special thanks to James, JR, Mark and Freddie.

Been working with this builder now for a few years and they have been a wonderful client to work with. They are very attentive and professional on their projects. Could not be happier to be on their team.

Adkins Building and Construction remodeled a regular bath tub into a walk-in shower for us. The workmanship was exceptional. The project was done on time, despite a couple of unforeseen problems regarding the floor underneath the bathtub. James figured out a solution, and we are so pleased with the finished product!! Although this was a small project in the grand scheme of things, the Adkins crew treated it like it was their most important project. Would highly recommend.

*Edit* The fact the Mr. Adkins felt the need to go into defense mode and argue with my review speaks for itself. Do not use this company, they will do a poor job and then blame their mistakes on you.

Mr. Adkins: The reason we asked for all communication to be in writing was to protect ourselves legally when we realized the shenanigans your company was up to. I have every communication saved, including the one where I asked you not to contact us again- yet here you are. Please leave us alone or we will report you for harassment. Thank you.

We fully expected that remodeling our home would be a challenge and that we would have some frustrations along the way, but this was a terrible experience. Meetings were cancelled, we paid our 25% in October of last year and work did not begin until 6 months later. Our “6-8 week” job ended up taking 4 months. Communication to us was lacking, it was evident on several occasions that communication to the workers and companies coming in to do the work was also poor. When we had issues we were often made to feel like it was our fault. I often felt I had to be forceful or get angry to make them listen to our issues- why should I have to be mad for our concerns to be addressed? Thousands of dollars worth of work was added on to our final bill that we did not receive a change order for until after the work was already done. When we refused to approve the change order, we were told we would meet to discuss and negotiate the price. We waited for 4 months and the meeting was canceled. We were told in a message that they understand our “sticker shock”- completely patronizing us and overlooking that fact that work should not have been done in our home without us knowing what the scope of the project was and what the cost would be. My last message to them questioned that company’s ethics and the owner’s reply was quite rude and less than professional. I hate to think of anyone being taken advantage of by these people, they made a good first impression, but they did not live up to it.

As a licensed certified professional inspector it is paramount that I have a select group of professionals from all aspects of home construction and repair. There are times that I make observations which require further review by a qualified licensed General Contractor. James Adkins is always there to evaluate and inform me and my clients when needed. He is prompt, knowledgeable, concise, and accurate with his responses allowing my clients to make the best informed decision with regard to my findings.
I have personally observed work performed by his team and have found it to mirror his personal and professional attributes, which include superior quality, efficiency, honesty, integrity, and care.
I highly recommend James and Adkins Building & Construction for any needs to may have for new construction, remodeling, additions, pools, or consulting.
If you choose to work with Adkins, you have made the best possible choice!

We are a small tight knit architect team doing a series of projects from Residential to Commercial spaces . When it comes to problem solving and planning we have yielded positive results. The construction managers are great to work with. we give respect to where respect is given. We work very well with their team.

James Adkins and his crew are the best in the area! Very professional and top quality workmanship. I have worked with the crew on many projects and I am always amazed at the end results

We (Alert Core Drilling, Inc.) have been working with Adkins Building & Construction for some time now on various jobs. They are super responsive and really easy going to work with, very professional. They pay their bills promptly and always have everything prepped and ready for us when we arrive on site. Their customers always talk highly of them and say they go above and beyond their expectations! Thank you Mark and JR for choosing us for your concrete cutting / core drilling needs and always making it a real smooth job from start to finish.

Outstanding experience!! Always timely and professional. James was instrumental in assisting with additional suggestions from the start thru to the end of my project. His suggestions saved me money, time and showed his expertise in the construction field. His subs were well qualified and performed excellent work. I would highly recommend this company and will contact them again for future work!

My wife and I had some remodeling needs with a new home we purchased in Sarasota. Not knowing who to work with (and much less how to source the work) we asked an electrician who was working here who he might recommend.

That is how we found out about Adkins Building and Construction. They were able to fulfill all our needs without the headaches of trying to find individual trades by ourselves.

Their trades provided excellent work, the communication between us and
Adkins was prompt and courteous. There pricing was very fair and reasonable. In summary......we couldn't be happier! I very much recommend them.

We contracted with Adkins to bring our recently purchased condo up to code. They were very responsive at our initial phone contact, talking us through the process of retro-permitting previous work. Other contractors were not interested in taking on this project.
Their communication email system was very good in keeping us up to date with schedules and the few changes, and all the subcontractors were equally responsive, friendly and dedicated. I wish all our projects would go so smoothly!

I've not needed the services of Adkins Building & Construction personally yet but I've been to the job sites of 2 properties they remodeled and they did excellent work. Because of their attention to detail and the quality of their work I've recommended them to clients and they've been very pleased. Make sure you call James and his staff if you need to add on an addition, build new or liven up your place of business or home with new finishes and design. Everyone should love where they live and work!

The guys over at Atkins bring great, fresh perspective to the construction process!. I had the pleasure of working with them for almost 5 years. Their work is of extremely high quality & luxury touches. Their scheduling and process brings projects to completion in record time and buyers loved their home!

We have continued to work with Adkins Construction over the past year, and have a great working relationship with them. They keep us informed, give us all the information we need to do the job well, and respond promptly to invoices. They stay on top of the job and make sure we are updated for changes! Thanks for being a great partner in this community!
