Contemporary Pools has been building pools with Adel/Lifestyle homes for 5 years. We've built over 60 plus pools in that time. His projects consistently move, he pays us on time without issue (if you follow the news this is a problem for some other builders) and puts out a quality product.

The name of the company says it all. Absolutely no part of the house is basic. You get a quality, fancy home for a great price.
I did quite a bit of research on builders in the area and my heart was set on this builder before I even started the process with them. The rest of the process confirmed to me that I made a great choice.
Adel’s high level of great communication has been the key to my comfort level with his company. His responses are fast, honest, and he’s always on your side as he prides himself on customer satisfaction.
After the construction loan was closed my realtor disappeared but I actually preferred dealing with Adel directly as he even gave great advice throughout the process.
Adel is a very efficient project manager being quite agile with any obstacles that came his way and finding the best way to move forward and make up time. I felt comfortable knowing that he was always on top of things.
As a first time homeowner it wasn’t quite clear to me what comes standard in a home and what is possible or should be upgraded. But after Adel explained to me that he is able to accommodate any type of upgrade, I did some research of my own and was able to easily tell him what I’d like upgraded and it was all smooth communication and on the fly changes.
I truly love the finished product and when I’m building any home again in the area my choice is already made on the builder.

Dave built my house 12 years ago. He is now building my addition and is fixing my parents house and mine from Hurricane Ian. He is great to work with and goes out of his way to help you. He is constantly checking in with you and keeping up on his subs. I highly recommend him to anyone!!!

Absolutely the worst. Car salesman comes to mind . . . And with a purchase as large as a house on the line, it's just not worth the risk!

David was wonderful during the dating stage. We explained in great detail that we needed someone we could trust to build our dream home because we lived in Vegas and were not going to baby sit the operation. He even had us over to his house. A great first date for sure. As soon as we inked the contract, it changed. Since he knew we were not going to be onsite to monitor the operation, he took it upon himself to modify the plan, and to not only install the 24x24 tile floor incorrectly, but refused to even visit the home while we were here for the closing. We were told he had medical issues. But he never visited the home from that point forward and wasn't available to talk with when these concerns were raised. There were several discolored tile that we were told it was just the lighting. We had them inspected by the supplier and they agreed they were dicolored and installed incorrectly. From the first time we set foot on the tile, we told Patty it wasn't acceptable. She was always the go between, and she always tried her best. We were a month late in closing because the driveway didn't pass code, and since it was a construction loan, there was a penalty for closing beyond the mutually signed and agreed upon date. David refused to pay his portion($1250). So, we were held hostage and had to pay it. Taking him to court would've just been more expensive and further delays. When he did take the time to talk to us in the early stages, he made sure to let us know how great of a deal we got because prices went up $50,000 in just over 3 months. To clarify the changes he made without asking us... the kitchen island was supposed to be a flat surface and the outdoor kitchen a bar type. We got the opposite. The kitchen island, since it was going to be a flat top, had the upgraded quartz/granite on it, and then the counters surrounding the gas stove were supposed to be a different granite for contrast. That didn't happen. The double oven was installed 22 inches from the bottom of the floor, clearly too tall to reach the upper oven, and completely against the recommended installation instructions from Bosch that were included. 14 inches was the maximum recommendeded height, and David refused to fix the problem. Didn't even show up, ever. Since we now live in our home fulltime, the floor replacement is $22,000 and that's with the same tile. We paid $800 to have a cabinet installer uninstall and install the oven correctly. We paid $500 to lower the outdoor kitchen hood because it was too high to reach or properly vent. The tile floor is just atrocious. The edges are so sharp in some places, its cuts our bare feet. On a good note... It is a very energy efficient home and has not ever leaked. Just keep an eye on the operation and plan for more costs to fix things that weren't done correctly. David built our house between Dec.2015 - Sept 2016....

Ravenwood Home Builders,They also built my house. My house is beautiful. My house was a custom home. Dave said it would just like the model with few differences.
I didn’t want the wet bar. No closet in Den. Should have gotten a discount but didn’t. I also got the upgraded circle driveway with pavers that I paid for and never got. I bought my own Appliances and never received my allowance back, My house was supposed to be completed in 8 months (May 2020 done Sept 2021) Thank God I had a place to live.
A lot of the homes he was building the people had no place to go…it seemed like a joke.
Everyday it was something else. My house started before the Covid craziness. But, he charged me as if there was a lot of difference in money. I also was up charged on my pool.
They didn’t even paint my garage floor. Told me if I gave them a great review they would paint it for free. It was in my contract. 1year I have had an electrical problem. I am a woman they gave me the ,Typical song and dance. I had to call the city on the problem. I ended up with the light switch had a short in it. It’s now fixed. I used another electric company to review my house for more problems. Would never do business with this guy (David) again. Do your research on home builders in the cape…. Love my house, he does good work but the excuses Are exhausting. The jiffy John was in front of my house for a very long time….Still waiting for a few things. My pool pavers are very uneven and yet to be corrected. Just giving heads up, so you done have the same Aggravation.

Dave and his team built my new home. During the entire experience they were all professional and personable. They were willing to listen our ideas and include them into our dream. They even added in some things that I did not realize were in our plans. Of course as with any building, there were some problems. Dave and his team addressed them immediately and to our satisfaction. If I were ever to build another home, Dave would be one of the first phone calls I would make. I highly recommend them to anyone. I am proud of my home and the job that Ravenwood homes did to make my dream come true!!

Ravenwood, with Dave and his team, brought great advice and sensibility to our entire build process. Dave helped us decide between two lot choices before the build and coached us through all the construction decisions - at times protecting us from ourselves, with only a few good natured debates.
We’ve been in our home for a year now and can testify to Dave’s assurance of HVAC efficiency and quality follow through on any minor fixes needed. I’m sure even a year in he would respond with great advice to our questions or problems.
Dave’s got a great team behind him that we know well and value as professionals and friends!

A builder we could not trust.

When searching for a contractor to build a $540,000 2400sft. custom home on our lot, we mistakenly selected Ravenwood Builders in Cape Coral. The builder, Dave, at first, talked a great game, but we soon discovered we made a horrible mistake. In Jan. 2020, we were interested in his Aurora model, then later sat down with Dave to discuss pricing. They encouraged us to immediately sign a Letter of Intent to Buy agreement plus $1,500 to lock into todays building costs. We then eliminated some upgrades to reduce the contract price. After signing this letter of intent, Dave drew up our contract.

As the home construction began, we found out many of the model features would cost extra. Examples include outside front Bahama shutters, outdoor shower tile, master bath tile insert, side walkway to garage door, wood closets throughout, and pool tanning ledge. We expected all these features items to be included and Dave never disclosed to us the contrary. He stated the signed contract did not include these items so we were out of luck. We then paid to add many of these missing details.

Our kitchen cabinets matched the model per contract language, and after a few additions we agreed to pay a change order of $2,200. Dave hit us up for another outrageous $6,850 at closing for our selections. We reached out to the cabinet vendor, but Dave switched vendors without our knowledge. Why was this not communicated during the live pricing process? Why was this hidden from us until closing?

We paid $1,800 for additional labor to install our flooring, then Dave added another $2,200 for additional labor costs at closing.

Aurora Model featured wood closets throughout, but our finished home had four rooms with wooded shelving and hanging bars, and three rooms fitted with wire. Dave would not correct. We paid $1,500 and had these rooms fitted with wood shelving and hanging bars after we moved in.

Next, we selected our level 3 granite choices, Ravenwood then charged us an additional $5,055 because we selected three separate sheets of granite . We were told if we selected any one of these granites for our whole house, there would not be a up charge. Who goes with just one selection? The model featured different granite throughout. A invoice spread sheet later showed total granite material costs was $10,000

Just before closing Dave presented us an unexpected bill for $37,000 for unforeseen costs. Who has an extra $37,000 hanging around? We immediately pulled out our Letter of Intent which clearly stated our costs would be locked in, but Dave's smug response explained his Building contract superseded the Letter of Intent contract stating the builder "could" apply added costs for issued out of his control. Our original locking price contract was voided by Dave building contract language. Our building contract did not contain a Covid clause. The roofing and concrete added expense work portion was $16,600, completed 16 months before closing. Why did he not communicate these added costs at time of work completion? Why did he hide these expenses from us until closing? He would not sit down with us to discus each added costs and stated he would add additional expenses to the $37,000 if we did not promptly pay.

Lastly, once we were in our home, our $6,500 GE Cafe oven kept shutting down. When GE came out for repair, they pulled out the double wall oven to find the top left side of the sheet metal frame was crushed destroying some components which need to be replaced. We sent pictures of the damage to Dave, but he refused to replace this damaged oven. Who installs a badly damaged appliance by covering up these issue? We are on our 3rd. GE service call on this item.

From day two of this 25 month building process we experienced one trust issue after another. Dave offered $3,000 to us by signing a non disclosure agreement not to discuss or post our complaints, but we declined.

We would like to share our horrific building experience with Ravenwood Homes. We first meet David of Ravenwood Homes Jan. 2020 at his model Aurora home in Cape Coral. Dave at first was engaging, personable, and talked a great game. When we shook hands at contract signing, Dave gave us his card and told us we could call him anytime. We later found out he was not the man we first meet. Dave never once retuned our phone calls, it was impossible to reach him. We have built six homes so we understand the building process but this build with Ravenwood was truly a miserable experience.

The poor communication, lack of transparency and unprofessional behavior from Dave, Brittany and their team made this an agonizing build. There was contention at every turn and our questions and concerns were ignored by Ravenwood. This resulted in building errors and delays that could have been prevented if Ravenwood had been responsive with communication. We own the property yet we were told not to step onto our land without a builder representative or they would charge us with trespassing for insurance purposes. We lived out of town and most times when we requested a visit we were told no one was available, despite giving Ravenwood several weeks advance notice. After many requests, Dave only agreed to meet us at the site one time during the 25 month building process. Each time we hade a $90,000 payment due, Dave refused to walk our project for inspection. We later were forbidden property access for three months, from Dec. 2021-Feb 2022.

Just before closing we were emailed a generic spreadsheet titled “project overages” and a bill for $43,000, with limited invoices. Some of these charges dated back 18 months and some were duplicates that had been previously paid. This was unexpected since we had signed a Letter of Intent with a deposit which stated that current prices would be locked in and this was signed Jan 28,2020. Dave refused to meet us to review and provide an explanation for these overages. Unfortunately, we had large hotel and storage bills piling up from the delayed closing, so we agreed to pay Ravenwood under duress. It felt to us like our new home was being held hostage. At closing, Ravenwood offered us $3,000 if we agreed to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement, we refused.

We regret that we did not do more research or check reviews for Ravenwood on Google, Better Business Bureau, Angi’s List, etc. Ravenwood also builds under the name Gulf Living, Ravenwood also appears as buildcapecoral. If we knew then what we know now we would have chosen a different builder. Once we signed our contract with Ravenwood, Dave and his team treated us poorly, they never treated us as a valued customer.

We closed in March 2022 and have building issues that have still not been resolved with Ravenwood.

My wife and I hired David's company to build our custom home, and the experience was fantastic! David and his team kept us informed every step of the way, and worked with us through decisions, helping us make the best choices.

We were confident enough that we were able to have the whole construction completed while we were away, and we were delighted with the results.

We have been living in the house now for a few months, and we couldn't be happier!

We would strong recommend Ravenwood or Gulf Living Homes for any potential home-builder!

We had decided to build in cape coral, we were unfortunately involved in a land scam. This occurred after we had begun construction on the lot. Dave took the time and found us another lot in a better location with 3 months into construction. Since we had less than a year on a lease Dave was able to finish the house in 6 months. The amount of detail work was awesome, and the time he put in for perfection, would dazzle you. He took time to add little things in the construction to beautify the house even more than what we expected. Always professional and was always available for minor changes or to answer questions. The work was impeccable and very fast. I would recommend Ravenwood Homes for a structure that surpasses all others. My wife and I are more than pleased.

I had Ravenwood Homes build a custom home for me. It was a highly modified Island View floor plan. During the building process I dealt with Dave, Patti, and after closing Eddie. At first, everything seemed to be fine and Dave always answered your phone call or returned an email. I had a big discussion with Dave at the beginning about the house elevation had to be a set height from the shower floor drain so I could get a discount on my flood insurance. He assured me no problem and the elevation certificate would be correct. Of course at closing, I found out the certificate elevation was not what we had discussed, and Dave was then quick to point out the emails I had from him assuring me about the elevation didn't mean anything since we didn't have a signed amended contract. Of course he didn't need a signed agreement when he installed gutters on the house I didn't ask for or other modifications made through out the building process. I believe Dave's business is at the point where it is getting to large for him to handle all the facets of multiple homes being built at the same time. This results in sub par quality. I had a six page punch list at closing. Don't expect to get things fixed quick after you have paid all your money to Dave. Highly recommend a hold back of funds until everything is fixed to your satisfaction. A lot of the little details get passed by and for all the mistakes made, Dave is quick to give an excuse as to why something was not done to your specification. Fortunately I had an individual come over and take pictures of the construction process to help identify issues early on. Be prepared to also chase down subs and schedule repairs to your new home without the help of Ravenwood. Customer service after the sell is not high on the priority list. I will give a shout out to Eddie at Ravenwood. He is probably the only person at the business that tries his best to clean up Dave's broken promises. There are some good points about Ravenwood and I'll share them as well. I am happy about the sheetrock finish work inside the home and the tile work was very good. The interior paint work was great on the walls, but the doors and trim painting were sub par. Lots of drips and missed paint. The electrical bills have been low due to the well insulated house. I am satisfied with the layout of the home. At the first review of an Island View home, I pointed out to Dave a potential issue with the slope of the roof in the front elevation that could eventually create a water leak at the window and he corrected this on my final house plans. I believe Dave's business is at the point where he can not manage all facets of multiple homes being constructed and maintain the necessary quality control. Time for him to hire some QC help with a person dedicated to working punchlist issues than having Patty do that task.

I just recently had my home completed by David and his Ravenwood team and I wanted to say a huge thank you! We had to fire our first builder because of mismanagement and fraud, and after that experience Ravenwood's team was exactly what we needed and you took us to worry-free in no time! I was so impressed and happy with the communication and diligence in which you finished my home. Not only that, but you came in under budget! Thank you so much for the great work and hassle free build. I highly recommend.

I want to thank Dave and Brittany for a wonderful new home. It is amazing! We love our new Aurora. It is the perfect dream home for us. Functional floor plan, beautiful styling details and all-around luxury.

Although it took longer than expected to complete due to Covid and being in an eagle zone they kept us informed throughout the entire process. Dave and Brittany gave us continuous assistance with dealing with the unexpected issues secondary to Covid:
    • Unavailability of materials
    • Selection of new available materials
    • Full disclosure of cost issues (unexpected overages caused by Covid)

We moved in two weeks before Hurricane Ian came ashore. To say Ravenwood builds a good home is an understatement, they build a great home able to withstand Ian’s winds with minimal damage. Due to the excellent quality of the construction, we had limited damage to the outside of the home i.e., pool cage. We expected the pool cage to sustain damage due to magnitude of the winds. But Dave went above and beyond what we expected following the storm. He assisted us since we were out of town with:
    • home inspection for damages
    • securing our home and
    • removing the damaged pool cage as not to cause further damage to our pool

We can’t say enough about Ravenwood Homes, Dave, Brittany and their fabulous team! If you want a wonderful home we highly recommend Ravenwood Homes.
