The Montgomery Electrical Services Team is awesome! They are very professional, friendly, easy to work with, honest, reasonably priced, dependable, and more! I will be having more work done in the near future and this is the company I will have do the work. They are the best!

Montgomery Electric is a neighbor, very professional, timely and thorough. Chris follows through with appointments and Charles listens and gives excellent advice and comments. His work is of high quality. I highly recommend using Montgomery Electric.

Like another reviewer, I didn’t want to go to a large company for the electrical work I needed done on my 1985 home. However, I’m new to Clearwater and didn’t know anyone that could make a recommendation, so I went online with Home Advisor and received the names of several companies in the area. I talked with two of them and was dismayed to find out that one of them would only quote the entire job and was unwilling to quote by the hour, and another one wanted to charge me for their travel time to give me a free estimate! Luckily, I went online and found Montgomery Electric, a husband and wife team located in Clearwater. After talking with Chris I was convinced I had the right team, and this was before I met Charles!
When Charles arrived at my home, I didn’t have to ask him to put on his mask. I’ve had to ask every other service person that has come to the house during the pandemic to do that. Because I had both outdoor and indoor wiring issues, Chris asked me to prioritize what I needed done. I showed Charles my outdoor issues first, followed by my indoor issues. The types of problems I knew about included several outdoor plugs and outdoor lights not working, live wires sticking out of a box that did not have a cover on it that shocked a technician installing a water softener, and bad wiring to a pump for a sprinkler system including use of an extension cord. Charles was able to fix those problems and others that I didn’t know about in a little over 5 hours.
I knew about two electrical issues inside the house. Every time I turned a certain switch that controlled a pair of outdoor lights at my dock, the lights in two bedrooms, bathroom, hallway and my TV would go out. I also needed 4 ceiling fans replaced. Little did I know the extent of bad wiring and code violations in the older portion of my home until Charles started to replace the fans!
It turns out a previous owner did his own electrical work to install the original fans. Charles found extension cords used for wiring, switch boxes with no backs, ceiling boxes used instead of fan boxes, and bad wiring. Needless to say, I didn’t know the extent of the bad wiring and code violations, but am so relieved that Charles found the issues and quickly fixed them. I am not an electrician and every time he found an issue he would clearly explain what he found and what needed to be done in terms that I could understand.
And, after every day, he presented me a time and material invoice that clearly described what he did. I truly feel the quality of Charles’ work coupled with the pricing he charged was very reasonable. Both he and Chris are class acts and I strongly recommend them. Sincerely, Jackie

I sudden, unexpected, death in my family, and needed some important electrical work done at a family member’s house ASAP.

The home was old and there was an issue with the wiring in the house that could have led to a fire and/or injury so these needed to be addressed quickly and I was working with a limited budget and a short time period.

I was fortunate enough to find Montgomery Electric.

When I called, I met Chris, she was attentive, kind, and extremely helpful.

Chris arranged for Charles, a licensed electrician, to come to the house and conduct a survey; his occurred the day after we spoke, which was a Saturday, however, Chris did not charge any extra for the weekend work.

Charles met me at the house and spent plenty of time with me discussing and gaining a complete understanding of the situation before he did his own detailed assessment. Charles was exceptional, he was detailed, professional, a true subject matter expert with both knowledge and integrity! Charles surveyed the home and identified the hazards; he prioritized these hazards for me based on the seriousness of the circumstances.

Chris and Charles then created a plan, with costs, to address all of the issues that were identified and discussed with me during the survey.

Charles would arrive at my home as planned, he has never late, arriving promptly at 8:30 am each day. The hazards were systemically corrected, and each day I received an update on the cost of the day’s work, based on a time and materials basis, and I also received an estimate for the following day with the work that was planned and subsequent costs.

Charles was so neat, so detailed, and so conscientious about his work, it was just so evident to me how much he cared because I was there each day as he did his work for a two-week period. At the end of each workday Charles cleaned up the work area and always left the space better than he found it.

After two weeks I had to leave, however, there was still plenty of work to be done. I gave Charles and Chris access to the home and the work continued for another 2-3 weeks in my absence.

During this time Chris maintained contact with me by phone, text, and email. I was always aware of the status of the project, and there was always total transparency on all costs. In additon, the responsiveness to any of my questions was always so prompt, like within the hour prompt ... just amazing!

I returned about 8 weeks after the work started to check on the overall condition of the house. The work done by Montgomery electric was exceptional! I had to have numerous inspections and they all passed on the first try with no issues or concerns by any of the independent inspectors.

I could not be more pleased with Montgomery electric; they were simply exceptional!! There is no question, if I have any issue, I will call them without a moment’s hesitation!

I am so confident in their service that when I met with a general contractor that I will be using to do a major renovation, I insisted that all electrical work be done by Montgomery Electric. Naturally, the GC has their own subs but I trust Montgomery and explained that any electrical work done in the house needed to be handled by them alone.

Charles was great! Always on time, informative, and very reasonably priced. Chris is pleasant and very responsive. If you want someone that can explain the best solution to your problem and do so at the best price point the team at Montgomery Electrical Services should be a go to.

I didn't want to go to a large company - my preference is to smaller, more personal businesses. I researched, found Montgomery Electric and called because of the reviews. Chris was so helpful and able to decipher my description of the problem and Charles was here this morning. He was right on time and once he found the problem, he explained the repair needed. I like that. Charles was pleasant, thorough and efficient. I will certainly call Montgomery Electric again and would confidently refer them to anyone!

I've used Charles for my electrical needs at two different locations in the past nine years. I can't speak highly enough of the thoughtfulness, craft, and problem-solving skills that Charles brings to his work. He's totally reliable, inventive, unwilling to take short cuts and dedicated to safety and doing the job right the first time. His wife, Chris, handles the business end with great aplomb and efficiency. Like Charles, she's thoughtful and friendly. In a world we're it's often hard to find trades workers that are dedicated to quality, always timely, and do their work honestly and for a fair price, Montgomery Electric is a real find. I can't say enough great things about this company! Fast, reliable, knowledgeable, and so helpful! After the hurricane they helped me figure out what to say to the power company to get them back to our house and fix the power lines and the very next day they were there to install our new weather head on the roof. Use them!!

Charles did a significant amount of work in my house. He was an absolutely pleasure to have around and I learned a lot about my house. His knowledge is unquestionable. He was able to make a very easy to consume plan to get my house up to snuff from a code perspective.

He installed two bathroom fans, two ceiling fans, multiple dimmer switches, and sorted out a wiring mystery dating back to the 1960s that nobody had taken on in almost sixty years. He was patient, curious, and confident. I am so glad to have found Charles.

Chris in the office is also a pleasure to do business with. She was extremely knowledgeable as well, so before I even met the electrician I had a good idea of what would be involved in the jobs.

This was our first time using Montgomery Electrical.
Chris was so kind and easy to work with. She worked to shift Charles' schedule to accommodate our needs. Charles listened to what we needed and took his time deciding the most efficient way to get it done. He even spoke with our walk-in tub team to confirm the specs. Chris followed up after the tub install to see that the electrical tie-in was worked out.

Montgomery Electrical Services (Charles and Chris) have been performing electrical work for our home for many years. Work included grounding outside outlets, replacing/upgrading our circuit box and home re-wiring. Some of the work needing permits or was inspected for homeowners insurance passed with flying colors. Our latest project was replacing our wall oven. Charles took extra time and effort to ensure work was done right - as always exceeding our expectations. We feel through the outstanding service Charles has done over the years as a master electrician and Chris' excellent scheduling and communicating skills - we enjoy a safer and more efficient home.

We have used Montgomery Electric for several jobs both big and small. Charles was very professional and efficient with the jobs. Chris in the office is available when called and has always given advice on jobs that we need taken care of.

Charles, the master electrician, really knows his stuff! He is fun to have around while working, gives estimates and projections of things that are needed both now and future. We have used Montgomery Electrical Services several times for a variety of tasks. Sometimes we are not really sure what we want or how the end product looks, but Charles always listens and provides a few different ways of solving a problem, allowing us to make the final decision. He does excellent work and his prices are reasonable. We wouldn't use anyone else.

After arranging time off work for appointment with another electrical company, who provided an 8-10a window, I received a call at 9:50am to say they would not be able to keep the appointment. I started calling other companies, some who wanted to charge to estimate the job of replacing two flush mount ceiling lights, new ballast/bulbs and remove ceiling fan. I finally connected with Chris at Montgomery, who offered to check with Charles on pricing estimate and return my call, which she did promptly. Charles was able to adjust his schedule to provide service same day to minimize impact on my time. Work was done quickly and well, totally cleaned up any debris and was pleasant to have in my home. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Montgomery Electrical Services and will use them going forward. I have been using Montdomery Electrical Services for several years. Charles has provided many different services from installing a light switch, ceiling lights and fans and even replacing the old electric box that was original to our house. Charles always takes the time to assess the need and explain the process. He offers top quality work. His wife and partner, Chris, is also very helpful in explanations, scheduling, pulling and getting permits and inspections approved if needed, etc. Both Charles and Chris are friendly and so trustworthy that I have no problem allowing them to work in my house when I am not there. Montgomery Electric has provided every electrical service for our home for more than 20 years. Upon purchasing our older home we learned early on the that existing electrical panel was too small and inadequate which as a result would blow circuits very often. We were plagued with bad grounding - stuff just didn't work correctly. Charles has upgraded everything for us from all of the outlets and switches all the way up to a new expanded panel. All along the way he has upgraded both our serviceability and functionally of our many systems. Now our stuff all works without any issues.

Among the many items Charles has completed for us has been new circuits to provide power to parts of our home that had none prior, including new and upgraded 240 volt circuits. The service that Charles and Chris has provided has been exceptional. We view them as more friends than electrical problem solvers.

Charles knowledge is second to none. Somehow he manages to keep up with the new devices available and what it takes to make them work in our environment.

The pricing is more than fair. They are always on time and somehow seem to work us into their schedule in a most timely fashion. Bottom line is that they are a pleasure to work with and would and have given our friends and neighbors a recommendation for Montgomery Electric for their electrical issues.
