I would give Zero stars if I could. I think this place is a scam. I had an issue with cooling and also needed a smart thermostat installed (I am in a condo and could not properly access the unit to install myself). The guy came with NO tools, thermostat reader, ladder - ANYTHING. I should have turned him away then. He then told me he needed to drop a common wire to my thermostat from the unit that it would be a "quick and easy" thing to do and he would only need to cut a piece of drywall the "size of a quarter". OK fine. Of course he had nothing that he needed and so then was gone for over an hour to Home Depot which is 5 minutes away from my place. At the end of the day (5 hours later), I was charged $1,500 to install a smart thermostat (he never even got around to fixing the cooling - I had to hire someone else for that). I also have three giant holes in my wall that I now need to hire someone to come and fix. His phone was dead when he finished the job, so he sat out on my balcony for 20 minutes vaping while his phone charged (so that he could take my payment) and also charged me for this time. When I was emailed the receipt for the outrageous charge, it referenced an auto repair company......

If you need a great HVAC company in South Miami, please use RAIRCON. They are amazing and I wish I had used them in the first place.

Very unprofessional. I scheduled in advance to have someone come out for a quote early in the morning to my new home. The technician never showed up, I sat at the new property for an hour waiting because I was not given a contact for the technician. About 8 hours after the appointment was scheduled for I get a call saying they forgot to come… we ended up rescheduling very late in the evening at a time the technician chose, which he showed up late to (again with no communication). THEN he tried to quote me the most outrageous price I’ve received or heard of for a coil cleaning (more than double the quote I received form a different company) Don’t waste your time with these unreliable scammers.

I contacted UrbanChill on 6/27/2025 to service my A/C, and they sent a third-party technician from Southern Mechanical Contractors (SMC). The tech told me the unit had an unrepairable freon leak and quoted me $525 just to refill the freon. I paid on the spot and was told I’d get both an invoice and a quote for full unit replacement—neither of which I ever received.
The next day, I had a different company come out, and they fixed the leak for $135—no replacement needed. So not only was the diagnosis from SMC inaccurate, but the pricing was also excessive.

I called SMC multiple times to get my invoice and the promised replacement quote—no response. When I called UrbanChill to report the issue, they admitted they had sent SMC but said there wasn't much they could do, which is extremely disappointing. If UrbanChill is going to send third-party contractors, they should stand behind them and ensure customers are treated fairly.

Bottom line: I was misled, overcharged, and ignored by the contractor UrbanChill sent, and UrbanChill did nothing to help resolve the situation. I won't be using them again, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
