First time home-owners here... We needed to get our shingle roof redone and were nervous as I seem to only hear horror stories. We found LaPorta through the Florida Safe Home contractor list, as we were approved for the state's grant. They have been absolutely great to work with! They made the process itself so easy, despite us having a few extra steps to take with the HOA. They handled the permitting and walked us through whatever we needed to do on our end. Communication was absolutely fantastic!!! As with all contractors, the labor itself is hired out but the teams were polite and efficient and, oh man did they work hard! Seriously... It's summer in South Florida and they def had my respect doing such heavy labor in the sun like that. (We left them a cooler with ice and bottles of water. Even though most of them brought their own, looking out for anyone working on your house is a gesture all home owners should consider). The guys also did a great job at cleaning up the debris at the end of work (so don't panic when you come home to broken up pieces of your entire old roof bordering your house... It'll be magically gone by the time you finish dinner). After the midpoint inspection, we got a storm with heavy rains and unfortunately had a big leak.... Apparently the guys didn't put enough tar around the pipes and the inspector didn't catch this. Nonetheless, Jeff made sure any damage was later repaired at no extra cost to us, and he was fair to work with. No harm, no foul. Ultimately you can't expect such big projects to go 100% perfect, but it's all about how a company handles any issues, and LaPorta did not disappoint.

And for you other rookies like us who don't know what to expect, here it is:
There were probably only about 4 or 5 days of actual labor but the whole roof-replacement process from start of work (removal of the old roof) to completion took about 3-4wks. keep in mind that was with many bad weather days in between, days reserved for inspection, re-tarring the pipes, etc. Regardless, this was still a faster process than what I hear from friends. (This does not include the permitting/approval process and final inspection, as those were dependent on the city and our own delay of getting forms submitted quickly... oops.) Also, be sure the guys leave a ladder up before the midpoint inspection so the inspector can get up on the roof, otherwise this can cause a small delay as well (this is usually after day 2 or 3 of labor).

LaPorta Team: Our new roof looks fantastic and will give us peace of mind as we are officially in hurricane season. We are so happy with and so grateful for the quality work and simplified process.

LaPorta Contracting ultimately did a great job on our new roof. We did have a few bumps in the road, but they stood behind their product and kept their word to rectify any mistakes. The roofers did work very hard to keep our home clean of trash and debris during the process, which was important since we have dogs and kids that are always in the yard. Make sure you ask to look at samples of roofing materials before you get the estimate- finishes do matter! Their customer service was top notch and they did take very good care of us throughout the process!

I can’t say enough about La Porta Roofing. I chose them because a couple of my neighbors had recently used them & were pleased with the work. Although not inexpensive, they were within estimate. They kept to the agreed schedule; their workers were on time, polite, and always cleaned up after themselves. Members of their management team were great. They returned calls very quickly and always happy to explain or answer questions. During our roof replacement, there was a small issue. La Porta took care of it that day. The best thing I can say about La Porta Roofing is, they did what they said, and said what they meant; and today, that is a rare thing to find.

Recently had a new shingle roof replaced and I’m pleased and satisfied with the outcome from the result. Thanks to Mrs. Kirstin for her excellent costumer service and always keep informed via email, text and phone calls. Also Mr. Daniel and crew for professionalism and clean job from day one. Thanks to Mr. Jim to his urgent responded to unexpected situations. Last but not least, thanks to Mr. Scott for his follow up and fast respond. I wanted to share with everyone my recent experience with Tom LaPorta and his roofing company LaPorta Conracting. I heard about Tom on a radio commercial on The Steve Kane Show. I called the number from the commercial and you do in fact reach Tom Laporta directly on his cell phone. We arranged to have one of his men come to my home to take a look at the roof leak and they gave me a quote that same day. They were able to start the job two days later and they were done within a day and a half. I was fortunate to have the roof repair done before the heavy rain storms came. His crew was very prompt and answered all our roofing questions. The men on his crew were experienced and have been with Tom’s company for many years. I was pleased with the work that was performed at a reasonable price. I highly recommend LaPorta Contracting for your roofing needs. They were professional and did a great job. Five stars out of five stars.

They did an excellent job replacing our roofs on 25 buildings. They were ahead of schedule, very courteous, reliable, dependable and very competitive. Jim Roush oversaw the work and was available at all times. Angel was in charge of the crew and was here everyday. Jim worked with the city for permits and inspections and took care of any issues. I would highly recommend LaPorta for any roofing job.

Highly recommend La Porta Contracting! Had to have roof replaced this year and they did a great job! Excellent communication from not only project managers but the owner and his daughter as well. They made the process simple and very affordable. We had several roofs replaced in our neighborhood and ours was done faster than anyone else. We never had a blue tarp or shoddy covering on our roof. This was during the summer which made it even more important to have proper covering of our house. We used the My Safe Florida Home grant and they were super knowledgeable of the process and helped us through it. We are very happy with their work and our new roof!

My experience with LaPorta Roofing can only be described as “terrific”! From my initial conversation with Tom (yes, he does answer his cell) to dealing almost daily with Scott Johnson, his boots on the ground, getting a new roof was as painless as possible. Questions were answered and my anxiety was relieved by the amount of attention given to my concerns. Respectful, patient and professional. The work crew was equally as proficient… and after the clean-up, no sign of them existed. From start to finish, this was a job well done. I recommend them without hesitation. If you need a roof, do not go anywhere else!
