I walked in thinking they are a supplier, the place is quite large. They set me straight that they were contractors and, throughout, they were polite and helpful
I would definitely consider them to do stone and paperwork. They seem professional and helpful. What more can you ask of a contractor? -
UPDATE!!!! Once we alerted Stone Core as to what the delivery problem was, it was taken care of Immediately & payment sent to the supplier, who then immediately shipped out the stone! Two days later, the work at our home was completed, & it looks Beautiful! Still unimpressed that it took our personal investigation & calling the supplier ourselves to discover what the problem was. When the stone was not being shipped, Stone Core should have been on the line finding out what the problem was, they dropped the ball on that, otherwise I would give them a higher than 3 star rating. Happy with the final outcome, & with the quick response of the company once told of the payment to the supplier problem. ORIGINAL REVIEW WITH ONE STAR RATING: We ordered stone to be installed on the front of our home. The stacked stone was delivered & work begun. We've been told for weeks the ledger stone that caps off the stacked stone will be here the next morning so work can continue. In the meantime our home is without siding on it & exposed to the weather, including hurricanes, & I can't park my car in the garage because of the stacked stone sitting in front of the garage! Finally had Enough of the LIES from Stone Core & called the actual company that supplies the stone to them, & was told they have the ledger stone in stock, & it can be shipped at any time as soon as Stone Core pays them what they are owed! We paid half up front to Stone Core, with the remainder to be paid upon completion. STUCK IN THE MIDDLE!!! Do NOT use this company, if you don't want the same headache!

Short version: Started out great but ended on bad terms. Travis at Stonecore didn’t do what he committed to do and left the job unfinished
Detailed version: We met Travis beginning of 2021 and asked for a quote to build a Uruguayan/Argentinian grill (parilla para los asados) which is essentially an elevated fireplace. He was great and was able to capture our idea in a sketch, and was confident about the custom build and provided a reasonable quote, we signed and paid a portion of the job up front.
Due to other delays from other contractors and permitting from the larger outdoor project we were working on, with we had to put things on hold around 6 months until later that summer.
When we were finally able to resume we were met with some pushback from Travis about increased cost and materials not being available etc. We were made to feel like our project was now an inconvenience and on the bottom of Stonecore’s priorities.
What was explained as a 1-2 week project turned into a 6 month project. The materials we had originally selected and requested to be ordered using the money we prepaid were not ordered, and no longer available. Had to make an alternative selection which was annoying but fine.
All the guys working on the job were good when they actually worked. They would show up randomly 1-2 days a week and work for a couple of hours and then leave. Travis mentioned trying to balance other jobs he had going on. Basically they were squeezing us in when they could instead of making our project a priority. There were also a few hiccups along the way and some work had to be redone. In the end the final project turned out good.
We lit the first fire and then shortly after there was significant cracking along one side of the fireplace. Travis mentioned needing to fill it in with concrete since it was hollow, which would allow for more heat resistance and that he would also come back to repair the brick. The impression he left was that this would be taken care of at no cost, since they were the experts and it was their error. When following up weeks later we were told we would have to pay for the “repair” and that Travis didn’t realize we would have the fire up against the wall of the fireplace…and that we should expect this kind of issue with “custom” jobs. I’m sorry, if we hire someone who builds fireplaces for a living I would expect them to build a structure that can withstand heat. Not build something that is going to break the first time we light a fire and then say we need to pay for them to fix it when it should have been done right the first time.
There are other things we weren’t happy with, but essentially what happened was Travis didn’t project manage the job or his subcontractors to keep his costs in budget and it was cutting into his profit margin. He was trying to wrap up the job at any cost and wasn’t willing to invest what it takes to do the job right. -
We contracted with Stonecore to tear up our existing patio and put pavers around the pool area. This was the last project for us as we are rebuilding after the storm. After we paid the first half down payment, $13,000. We had some initial issues, nobody showed up for awhile, they said they would come, but never did. Then the guy (mike) said he didnt want to finish the job because he didnt like us. Eventually they dropped several pallets of pavers and a grill in our yard and said they couldnt finish the job. No refund, no nothing, I tried to call the owner or manager 5 different times, no call back, the phone just rings. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COST!

I have used this company for a couple of jobs including a pool and summer kitchen. Referred to a friend for a pool paver job and they have completely done this person wrong. They have not stood behind their subcontractors who we very messy and left damage to pool screen and doors. Even after escalating, they did nothing but lie and miss appointments. DONT DO IT, there are better options. Jason listened, acted concerned, but zero follow up and no resolution. Will never recommend this company again!

One of their salesman talked to me like trash on the road. Beware of the rudeness if you go here.

I just had Stonecore build me an out door kitchen a few months back. To my surprise rust spots are popping up all over the granite top. I reached out to the project manager Mike and he said he had never heard of it and he would get with his Stone company that was a month ago and I never heard back from him. I would not recommend Stonecore to anyone. I know there’s been zero attention after the sale I had to hire an outside vendor To help get the rust out and reseal the stone they inform me that it’s gonna come back that it was just pour quality stone. I reached out to Mike on 3/27 and as today 4/25 I still have not heard from him. During my last conversation and only conversation I had with Mike his comment to me was what do you want me to do replace the stone I was suggest all people stay away from this company.

A complete nightmare. It seems that they are way too busy to keep up with the projects they have. Stonecore was selected as the subcontractor to build our outdoor fireplace and kitchen. They then subcontracted out the work to a “new team” of masons that was terrible from start to finish. The masons they subcontracted would argue with each other daily and leave cigarettes, water bottles, Gatorade bottles, cigarette packs, chip bags, razor blades, etc scattered in our yard every day. They decided to cut the stone and brick in different areas of the yard which caused a mess throughout and was never cleaned up fully. Everyday they would leave our water running when they were done.
From the start we had to babysit them due to all the issues. Due to them not measuring correctly, they had to tear down the fireplace and restart after they were a few days in since it was not centered. We also lost the backsplash we wanted since they did not build the kitchen portion to plan. They cut corners to save money, using different types of brick (different thickness, texture, and color.) Mike kept ensuring it would look great after it was all painted but it is very noticeable and not at all what we wanted nor paid for.
The granite company had to come out twice to remove the granite since one side of the kitchen was not equal height to the other. Thankfully Mike caught this and had the masons make adjustments. The granite guys were great though.
Several times we had to make the masons stop what they were doing and show them how it should be done. The brick work is not level and we are now stuck with uneven lines of brick which became very noticeable once completed.
The painters they used were just as bad. Ended up getting paint all over our brand new wooden mantle and some paint on our new stainless refrigerator, stainless trash can and new grill cover. They attempted to clean it up but I ended up having to clean it up myself. Mike did buy us a new grill cover since the new one we had just installed was ruined. They ended up having to bring out another painter to finish the job.
The paver company they outsourced was Plus Pavers, which I would not recommend. Just a few weeks in and the pavers already shifted and weeds growing throughout since they didn’t put enough paver base and sand down. Even after having them come out twice to fix. I ended up having them drop off paver sand so I could fill in gaps myself. Will be having another company come out soon to rip up the pavers and fix correctly.
From the start they caused major delays on the completion of our entire project. From not ordering pavers, not ordering the granite at first, to the building off center and tearing down, to all the waiting around in between. I can’t speak for the other contractors they use but the “new team” of masons that we were the trial for were awful and now we are stuck with sub par brick work for a kitchen/ fireplace that cost over 20K on an outdoor build out out that cost us a very large amount.
