Pelton is the best place to get bamboo in Miami. I been buying bamboo for over 25 years. I been in almost every nursery in Dade and Broward so I think I know a bit about bamboo.
Also Pelton doesn't have many choices, I miss the Atrovilacea and few other rare spices, they do have Lako, Oldhammi, Vintata and other popular bamboos. What it make this place unique is number one Don, the owner, he is unique and number two the quality of the plans. They way they grow the plants, giving them plenty of space and nutrient make Pelton #1 bamboo nursery in Florida.

Pelton’s IS the place to get your bamboo.. that is, if you are into large selections and great prices!! I’m building my backyard paradise on my own.. when it was time to buy my bamboo,I did my research, as with everything else.. I went online and visited many nurseries.. Pelton’s is above the rest!! From the time u get there , u see many many bamboo varieties, fields and fields of them. The owner, Donald was there that day, he patiently took me around and showed me all the bamboo..very knowledgeable and friendly..so many to choose from, but I found what I was looking for.. after pointing out the ones I wanted, they were expertly tied up and put in my truck..I will be going back in two weeks to buy more for the backyard. Listen people, take it from someone who already did all the leg work, if your not going to Pelton’s for your bamboo needs, you are just wasting your money!!!

Don Pelton is a great guy with a vast knowledge of bamboo and is more than willing to share that knowledge. when i first went there my bamboo was in really bad shape and don told me that if i followed his advise in 30 days i wouldnt recognize my plants. So i followed his advise and its been 2 weeks since i started and i can already see huge changes. he has made me a believer and a customer for life.

Biggest selection of bamboos in Miami. Hidden gem. All their bamboos are healthy and beautiful no need to go anywhere else they have the best prices for the beat quality. I found my place for bamboos. Ask for Dan great guy.

Great place to buy bamboo plants. Owner very knowledgeable and super helpful. Tied up and loaded my purchase and then gave me some mangoes to consummate our deal. Price, for the size of plant I bought, was reasonable. Will highly recommend this business.

The Best! First time there today. Don Pelton gave us the tour. Great guy and I learned so much about bamboo and other plants. This place is huge and the plants are beautiful. If you want bamboo this is THE place to go to get high quality and tremendous selection.

Was in dire need of a rare bamboo grass plant for my wife's DIY project. I contacted peltons bamboo nursery and low and behold the owner himself was awaiting my presence. He was extremely helpful and made the experience as easy as humanly possible while selling me two mature horsetail reed plants I was not only impressed but more importantly my wife was impressed. I'll be back for more beautiful bamboo plants which make for beautiful poolside decor Thank you again!!!!

I have been a client at Pelton's nursery for a while! Don't waste your time with the other bamboo suppliers. They may offer a better price but the products don't compare to Peltons and they have the widest variety in town. Service there is also prompt and friendly. I highly recommend!

Don was great! He gave us insight to pick the right type of bamboo for our space and was very transparent about the pros and cons of each. Our trees are beautiful, highly recommend for quality bamboo products!

Jose helped us very well but we couldn't take the plant home that day. The following day we called the number and Don answered. He met us at the front and took the time to help us out with some yellow bamboo. Don was not only super helpful, he was full of charisma and energy. He talked to us for some time and you can feel his passion for what he does. He helped pick out the best bamboo in our price range. We will definitely be going back next time we are looking for bamboos.

Mr. Pelton runs a great business with the most beautiful and healthy Bamboos in South Florida. He is very knowledgeable and took his time to show me around his amazing nursery, while explaining how to maintain the Bamboos as beautiful as his. He is helping me create my Bamboo Backyard Paradise. I purchased the Bamboos, scheduled the installation, and never been so happy with the final product. The installation crew was a class act with special thanks to Mario. They worked extremely hard from the morning to the evening until everything was planted, drip lines were installed, all debri was picked up and halted away. Super hard work to make 28 holes with a jack hammer into pure coral rock- No Joke but, they did it!!!.

Amazing Bamboo , we bought our first one 1.5 years ago and it is doing amazing . We are definitely going back for more. Mr. Pelton was so knowledgeable and took the time to talk to us and explain how to properly care for our plant and so much more. Also the honey he sells is outstanding.

Everyone at Pelton's was very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a varied selection of bamboo. The plants are well cared for and it was cool to get to walk through beautiful bamboo forests. We purchased an awesome wamin bamboo and I can't wait to go back and get some of the variegated bamboo. Don even gave us great advice on how to care for our bamboo at home and it has been thriving.

Drove all the way from Orlando to Miami to buy bamboo to screen my backyard from neighbors across a pond. All I can say is Wow it was worth it. The owner Don Pelton stopped the work he was doing and came over to help us. The most beautiful bamboo I've ever seen. So lush and healthy. We got both golden and black bamboo. He gave us a great deal. David put them in our van and bundled it all up so we could drive them back home. I'm so excited to see them planted. Don gave us care instructions so they would thrive in central Florida. Thanks so much Don. I would highly recommend.

We bought an amazing bamboo at this nursery 2 weeks ago, are going to get one more! I am a big fan of bamboos, and I've never seen such a BIG choice of excellent quality bamboos anywhere else (we visited several other local nurseries before). There are golden bamboos (like on my pictures), green bamboos, black bamboos, bamboo grass, various sizes... We spent more than an hour to walk through the nursery, it was hard to decide which bamboo we wanted, they were all gorgeous. The owner Don Pelton is a very nice person, provided an excellent customer service and explained us how to take care of our bamboo. Everything is labeled clearly: entrance, parking, phone number... They also sell delicious local honey, as you see on my picture, we have already eaten a half of a jar! Prices are good, too. I definitely recommend this place to all bamboo and honey fans.

My wife and I were thinking about getting some bamboo and visited this nursery recently. We met the Owner Don, who walked us through the nursery and spent a great deal of time with us answering all the questions I had about bamboo. while I'm a novice, I do enjoy landscaping and learning about plants and landscape design. We had a great time as Don educated us not only about bamboo, but also about many other plants that he has at his nursery, as well as providing us with helpful planting techniques. He even gave us some of the honey that he harvests at the nursery. I highly recommend this place, as the owner Don is clearly passionate about bamboo and landscaping which is reflected in the quality of of the plants and the service that his nursery provides.

Having visited many other bamboo and heliconia nurseries in south florida, this is the place you need to purchase from. The bamboo is thick and lush. Don was very helpful in disclosing what fertilizer and watering requirements were needed to have the heliconia and bamboo continue to thrive. I purchased 25 7 foot texcillis gracilis bamboo to create a privacy wall along my fence line. I purchased 20 heliconia for a lush wall along the other fence line. After 4 months, my bamboo is now a solid green wall and my heliconia is full. Both are about 15 feet tall now! They also did the installation and put in the drip line for watering every 6 hours. Amazing service!

A great Nursery with people who love the business. My wife and I ran into the owner of Pelton's Nursery, Don, while visiting Miami researching bamboo in preparation to opening a bamboo Nursery in the Sarasota area. We traveled down to Miami to visit a list of Nursery's we had made to review/research. Our interest is specializing in larger "Timber Bamboos".

On our visit to Pelton's Nursery, Don took a serious interest in our new business venture and we spent a couple hours with Don talking about his experience in growing bamboo and running his business. Don showed us around his nursery and you knew that growing and running a nursery was a personal passion of Don's. At the end of our visit to Miami, we met with Don and purchased 250 "Bambusa Oldhamii" plants for our Nursery stock.

I have included a couple pictures of our Nursery in Sarasota for the review with the Oldhamii planted, we split the stock and now have around 400 plants in the ground or in containers. Don continues to stay in touch with us providing advice and guidance on growing bamboo as we start our business.

This is an update. They retired the hours sign from the entrance but there are a couple of sign where say "yes we are open". I came sunday at noon and called to the phone number and the guy told me "Yes we are closed". Your honey is very good but remove the sign from the entrance.

He sold me a couple of honey bottles despite was closed (sunday). The honey is pretty good and he was kind too
