Mister Sparky®

I have had extensive experience with Mister Sparky over the past several years. I own my business and had my initial experiences there. Previously, I was pleased with their response times and quality of work. I was so pleased that I even referred others and family members which resulted in one of the jobs being a whole house rewrire. The cost was significant, in excess of $10,000, paid to Sparky. So what does Sparky do? Read on…

Now needing some electrical work at my own home, I called Sparky again, expecting the same quality, prior service. The response time was again good. The electrician was pleasant. However, upon arrival when he gave me the quote for the requested services, he also advised that there was also a service call fee. This was the first notice or mention of this fee. Never in any of my prior encounters was this charged. And at no time prior to this visit was I advised there would be a service call fee charged. The services were performed, not without issue, but performed nonetheless. At the end I was told I could get a “credit” of $75 if I provided a “5 star” review on Yelp and Google. It was provide the 5 star review, or no credit! Needless to say, I declined because nothing about this encounter was close to 5 star. I am disappointed that this company now feels it necessary to charge a service call fee, without providing prior notice of the fee to the customer, and does not in any way honor or appreciate any prior and current customer who has been loyal to their company. Sparky will realize when the competition can provide what you do without screwing the customer, you will lose customers. When I made the call to set up service, Sparky went to great lengths to tell me that “the call was being recorded for quality purposes.” Of course, they have to do that by law, or they are committing a crime. But they completely neglected to tell me that there is now a service charge for all appearances. Sadly, Sparky, like many others only sees $$ signs. They no longer are interested in building customer loyalty through exceptional and quality customer service. Thank you, and goodbye, Sparky. Buyers beware. Sparky may not be telling you all you need to know up front. They want to get you in, then stick it to you as much as possible. There are better, more honest options.

Eric provided quotes and advised on our options. We made decisions and work was completed without delay. When you want the electrician to show up and do a quality job, call Mister Sparky. We had used Mister Sparky in another state and found consistent quality. We are confident they will still be in business next time we need electrical work, and will call them again. Nice people too, so that is a bonus.

We have some dimmer switches throughout our house and noticed flickering in those lights specifically so we called Mister Sparky to come and check it out. After a few techs with different levels of experience showed up they sent Kevin. Kevin was great! We explained all the attempts and options that the previous techs tried and he resolved the issue for us. Thanks Mister Sparky for working through the issue and getting someone with the experience we needed.
