Had this group come out and removes some shrubs, stump, and trim back trees. They were very respectful to our yard and cleaned everything up. Very nice job and nice guys!!!

Used them for a tree trimming they tore up my whole front yard!!!! Worst of all they hit my ac unit and blew the freon line they said they would fix that never had anyone come out I had to stay in a hotel with my two kids till I found someone to fix my ac! Witch ended up costing me 2300.00 horrible company

Organized punctual polite knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I had them trim two very overgrown yews and a magnolia and they did a fantastic job! They knew what they were doing and they cleaned up well.

My experience is negative. Paynes removed a large oak tree from my next door neighbors yard and used mine for a through fare. Runied my plants, did much damage to my yard, gutter and trees in the process. And used my yard for a dumping ground for all debris. It will cost me to replace either plants, rocks or sod at my cost . They should not have been on my property at all !! They should have figured out a way to remove the tree using my neighbors yard.

Managed to get a huge dead tree out from a crowded yard without hitting the fence, ac unit, or house but they did. I use these guys for my personal home and business and highly reccomend them.

This rating is specific to one occurrence which includes property damage. The companies ability to do the job they are contracted for is not the question. They did OKAY.... They did, however, cause property damage at the time of services. After a VERY long back and forth, they refused to replace what they broke. This is the epidemy of a careless and uncaring company. We're not even talking thousands of dollars, nothing that would hurt their bottom line, but they adamantly refused and tried to blame others for their mistakes. Imagine they broke your mother's porch or damaged he house siding while they were trying to get at a tree... They will absolutely refuse to replace and try to blame it on a third party, as they did in this situation.
I do not recommend them regardless of their ability to perform a tree removal. This post will be amended as soon as they make right what they damaged. If not, assume they are still being childish about this whole unfortunate situation. Scroll through the comments, you'll see this is a common issue. They will blow up your house to get the tree out. Hey, at least they got the tree out!

Love the place but half the time it’s closed and it’s to full !!! There’s nowhere to dump anymore the mulcher is always down or the owner has it rented out to someone or city

Called Paynes Environmental to have a rotted tree removed from my back yard. The tree was very large and it was too big a job for me and my friends so I had to seek professional help. The price was good and they came right out the following Monday and brought the biggest piece of equipment I had ever seen to do the job. They had the tree removed and they also had it put through a chipper and ended up mulching my whole yard with it. If you are looking for a reputable company Paynes is the place.

We had a large rotten oak near our pool cage that needed to be removed quickly. Not only did Payne's come out and remove it the very next day, they did it without damaging our pool cage! They obviously know what they're doing and I'd definitely use them again.

If I could give them 0 STARS I would. They are the most unprofessional service I have ever dealt with. They don't know anything about cutting down a tree much less take precautions in your property. They destroyed my fence, roof, yard, you name it they are responsible for it. I don't know how they could possibly stay in business. DO NOT HIRE THEM. THEY ARE A DANGER TO YOUR PROPERTY.

I have been most disappointed with this company. I called several weeks ago to have some bamboo removed from my yard. I used this company because it was listed as one of the best from the Hillsborough County 5-Star rated services brochure. I cannot seem to get anyone to return my phone call, much less schedule a time for even an estimate. I most certainly will not be using this company for the work and will look for someone who is more responsive.

I called Payne's with many concerns I had with dead and dying trees at my mother's house in Zephyrhills. They have an Arborist, not JUST on staff, but he owns the company! When they relayed to Terry Payne, Arborist and Owner, he went to evaluate a potentially dangerous tree over my elderly mothers house, worked with the neighbors and the county officials personally to make sure that everything was handled for me. The office staff, foreman and crews were all amazing! Thank you for taking care of her home while I care for her!!!

I own a car dealership and I had a tree that was old and rotted and I was concerned that it would fall over and damage my new cars on display. I had Paynes Environmental come out and remove it for me. They did a great job and the price was very fair. I am going to have them do my home next month and also trim my mothers house. We contracted with Payne's for a significant amount of work. Shortly after trimming one of the palm trees we noticed it was declining and then died. We believe this is because of how it was trimmed. We contacted Payne's and they agreed to remove the tree but have put us off week after week. I have called the office multiple times and asked to speak to the manager but have not heard from him. We have also had other issues. I like to deal with someone who is honest and reliable and true to their word but we unfortunately have had that experience with Payne's.

It is a rarity that you meet honest, knowledgeable and caring people when conducting business... especially when you find yourself in an emergency like tornado aftermath. In one day, Paynes Environmental had us up and running without missing a day of business with landscaping looking better than ever. They were able to alleviate all of our anxiety and were a true Blessing to us! You just can't find quality work ethic like this these days. A special thanks to Terry and Chris!

Payne's damaged custom concrete curbing on my property and gave me the run-around for 3 MONTHS before denying to make the repair. At one point, they sent a crew, unannounced, to my home just before 7:00am on a Sunday to take standard concrete to patch our completely broken custom colored concrete landscape border!! They couldn't believe we found this unacceptable.
The worst part is, damaging the concrete borders was a major concern before we ever hired them. I was assured they are licensed and insured and, should they cause any damage, they are highly reputable and would make it right - WRONG. They also broke a sprinkler head which we fix ourselves.
Their staff didn't pass along messages, didn't return calls as promised and didn't follow through with the multiple opportunities I made for them to rectify the issue. On the phone, I was constantly addressed as sweetie, babe, and honey which I find unprofessional and belittling in business discussions. The owner adamantly denied getting on the phone with me to discuss the issue and said it was impossible for his equipment to cause such damage, yet he never saw the damage for himself!!
They do a great job on the trees, you just better hope they don't cause costly damage to your personal property because they certainly will not rectify the issue or even give you the courtesy of a discussion of the matter.

Terry does not pay his stump grinding subcontractors. 2 years he has owed over $16k. No attempt to even make payments. Quick to collect payments from homeowners and pocket the money. Criminal behavior & putting homeowners at risk for liens on their property!

Had one tree to remove and some others to be trimmed and was quoted 4500. But we wanted a second quote for another tree and he quoted us 3000. For it.and that was fine, then he told us if we did both he would remove 500.00 off the bottom price of 4500. If we did them all at one time but at the time of payment forgot about the discount and we paid full price. If we had known we would have waited to spend another 3000.00. Then told us we were wrong. Make sure that everything they say to you is in writing. If you are promised a discount then make them write it down because apparently they do forget what they say. This statement was made to my husband and I was present when he said it. I heard it with my own ears and so did my husband. We both are very shocked and the one who handled our business is very condescending as well. He tells you what you are going to do. And if he forgets of course you are very wrong. I will not use this business again. It's not the job they did but if you can't depend on a man's word, then I will find someone who I can trust to do what they say. We actually had a quote in writing for the one tree that Payne quoted 3000.00 for that was less but went with Payne's because because the discount made it worth it just using the one company but from now on we will either get that discount in writing or we will go with the cheapest price on the work required .

They are the best I highly recommended to several of my friends.
