I have been shopping here for 30 years. Always great. I will have a nervous if they ever close.

I've reviewed this business before and have been a customer for over 20 years. Every time I've needed a repair or need to replace an appliance they have treated me like gold. My extended family and friends who've I've reccomended them to have always had a great experience as well. Its ridiculously hard in this day and age to find a reliable company or service much less a local independent one. Keep it local folks!!! There's still some great small business owners out there that need our support! Obviously they can't make EVERYONE happy but I have never been let down by them.

I'm very happy with the service I got from American Appliance on my washer. Billy diagnosed the problem, got parts ordered quickly and then did the repair when they arrived. He was always on time and thorough in everything he did. I would not hesitate to call them again for service.

Bought a drier. It was delivered in a timely manner. It did not heat and made a big thumping noise. A repair guy came out and said it should be replaced. Called to complain and was chastised for being upset. I was assured it was checked prior to delivery. Oh? It was replaced with a working unit that works fine. The delivery guys and tech guys were great. The sales process was lousy and I lost a lot of time waiting around.

Bought a refrigerator/stove, Mike was very helpful and professional. Would use hem again!

Great Prices & Service! When my washing machine died, I wanted to get a good reconditioned washer to replace it. They had a great selection of them in their showroom and I was able to find the perfect solution for the features I wanted. Everyone from the showroom to the delivery team was kind, helpful and professional. Delivery and installation was fast and easy, including hauling off my old machine. I definitely recommend them for any of your appliance needs.

This place is terrible. They sell broken equipment and when you try to replace it they do not call you back. They never answer the phone. When you show up in person they are incredibly rude. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAMMERS

We purchase a washer from American appliance Incorporated and purchase was easy delivery was fast and we are happy with the product.

Horrible company with terrible communication. They sell you junk and take no responsibility when it doesn't work less than two weeks after purchasing. Literally no customer service whatsoever, they're rude and indifferent to problems their terrible appliances cause.

Been working with the American Appliance Team for decades. The MANY experiences were always seamless! They recently provided and installed a high quality laundry washer at my personal residence. And removed and recycled the old one that was "toast."
Additionally, they repaired a laundry dryer at my father's rental.

Absolutely wonderful and smooth transaction! Delivery was a breeze. I was surprised by how much selection was available. We chose a used refrigerator within minutes and had it the next day.

I have used American Appliance for at least the last 40 years I just purchased a washer and dryer, and a double oven stove I'm very happy with them they look like new and the prices were unbelievable and I also have a one-year warranty on the appliances I have recommended them to
several family members and they also are very pleased and I will use them again.

I bought a used stackable Whirlpool washer/dryer from American Appliance in August 2024 for $535. I knew it was used and understood there’s always some risk with that. I live alone so I’m not running the washer / dryer that much, and I make it a point to take care of my appliances. I wasn’t expecting it to last forever… but I did expect more than 17 months.

The first issue happened in March 2025, just seven months after the purchase. I paid American Appliance to replace a dryer seal (I have the receipt).

I started noticing the second issue in December 2025 / January 2026. The washer began leaving oil/grease stains on my clothes. From what I’ve since learned, this is often a transmission oil issue on older Whirlpool units, which usually makes repair not worth the cost.

When I called the store, the staff member I spoke with explained there would be a $98 fee just for a technician to come out and assess the machine. He said that repairs for this type of issue typically run several hundred dollars and that, in his experience, it often makes more sense to replace the unit. When I mentioned that I was surprised and I thought this washer would last longer, he replied, “Yeah, they typically do.”

He then suggested I could reach out to the owner to ask about some kind of goodwill consideration, but he also mentioned that she “probably wouldn’t do anything about it.”

I emailed anyway, respectfully explained the situation, and asked if anything could be done. I wasn’t expecting a brand-new machine or anything like that. Just pretty basic customer service. Maybe a discounted repair rate. Something to make up for the fact that I’ve already repaired the machine once and now there’s another issue.

I received a boilerplate response with a restatement of the written warranty terms and a reminder that the unit was outside that window. Polite but not helpful. There was no real acknowledgment of the situation, the repair history, or any form of resolution other than a kind of “too bad – nothing we can do” sentiment.

What’s interesting is that I’ve noticed similar responses posted on other negative reviews. There’s always language about “standing behind quality and integrity,” but in practice, once you’re outside the short warranty window, they wash their hands of you.

To be clear, I don’t believe American Appliance intentionally sold a defective washer / dryer. (Maybe that's foolish optimism?) I just wish there had been even a small gesture of customer service or goodwill instead of a “policy is policy” type of response, especially after already having paid for the dryer seal repair.

I’m not mad about the situation. I feel like this has become the norm for a lot of smaller businesses in St. Pete, so I wasn't shocked or upset when I saw the response. For me, this has been another lesson learned: never buy used appliances.

The only reason I didn't give a one-star review is because the washer / dryer lasted a little longer than the three-month warranty before a repair was needed... and that's gotta count for something, I guess.

For anyone considering purchasing a used appliance from here, my advice: I'd advise against it.

Got a like new range for a great price, delivered and installed. Everyone we interacted with, from the store front to delivery, was professional and courteous. We could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend.

American appliance did a great job! Quality used garage fridge at a fair price and delivered on time by pleasant and professional crew. A quick 5min factory reset of the icemaker (found on YouTube) and it's running like a champ. 2nd fridge we've purchased and 2nd 5star review!
