Hands down the best contractor I have ever worked with. We did a master bed/ bath renovation and the end result was spectacular.

Having gone through a serious renovation living 1,200 miles away could have been extremely stressful. Sun Bay's communication and responsiveness couldn't have been better.

Steer Clear of Sun Bay Builders Inc. They will let painters paint the walls with no drop cloths and leave paint all over the floors and windows and stairs. They don't care and will just shrug their shoulders like “oh well”. They let there drywall guys mix joint compound in wheelbarrow in your home and the drywall dust goes everywhere. I put photos below. I have more and video but google limited how many pictures I can show. It gives you an idea what goes on on there job sites They also have their guys drag appliances across your hardwood floors without any protection on the floor. They spill glue and builders adhesive and paint on newly sanded floors. Then sun bay tells there guys to go around and whip paint thinner on a newly coated floors. Sun Bay Builders will have hardwood floor put in a room over a garage and don't even install insulation and six mil plastic stapled in to the beams in the garage below the floor were the humidity and temp differences cause swelling and movement of the solid hard wood floor. Also they use chip board as a sub floor and on stairs to save $2 a sheet over real plywood .They know chip board shrinks and soaks up moisture like a sponge and over time the sub floor will come lose and squeak like crazy. They don't care. It’s all about cutting corners and saving money to have larger profit . Any future customers looking at hiring Sun bay Builders Here's the bottom line they will allow a lien on your home and the sale of the property to pay the lien.Go to Pinellas county circuit court look up sun bay builders and Mike Miano and see the paperwork on the lien from September for a unpaid invoice and breach of contract. I also supplied copy's of the paperwork that's in Pinellas County clerk of courts on google + page in with the photo's for all to look at, so you can see what happens to you if you hire sun bay and Mike Miano. I just educated all future customers and please do your back ground check. You don't need this drama from Mike Miano and Sun bay builders

The work of sun bay is ok but if you work for them don't expect to be paid. I worked on a house in st pete that had about 20% of the downstairs floor in need if replacement. No one else wanted to touch the job unless they wanted to replace the whole floor. They wanted it to remain original. It took over a month to do just the repairs alone. I wish i could post before and after pics here. In the end everyone thought it was beautiful except the owner's son, mike. It came down to some missed nail holes and after the completion of my work they had made a bit of a mess of the floor during their final bits if work. We even offered to put another coat of finish on for them at cost of finish but said they were going to get another company to do it. So, while getting work done by sun bay might result in a nice job, if you're a sub contractor be wary if possibly not getting paid.

Mike and the Sun Bay team were great to work with. I appreciated the clear communication and ability to solve issues that tend to come up with older homes. I am happy to recommend them to my family and friends.

Sun Bay took on a cottage project for me earlier this year and absolutely nailed it! The entire team was so knowledgeable, skilled and professional. You'll save time and money and still get world class build quality and support. My only regret is that I don't have more to build. Thanks Sun Bay!!

Sun Bay did an amazing transformation of our house!
Our vision was to totally transform our 1957 house - updating everything: new open floorplan, master suite, hurricane windows & doors, underground electric service, all new - wiring, plumbing, A/C & ductwork, insulation, and roof. Sunbay was recommended to me by Milan Jovanovic of Jovanovic & Lyons the architect who designed an addition to our St Pete Beach house. It was reassuring when I learned Sunbay did the renovation on Milan's house, which was comforting to know that there was a preexisting relationship there should any issues arise. And as expected with any renovation, issues will arise but they were quickly resolved because of this open line of communication. Because Sunbay was so good, I couldn't let them go and the size of the project more than doubled. I plan on building a new house in the next year, and will be using both this pros to do the job.
