Originally quoted 450 for the job. Increased the next day to 550. After job completed got angry and demanded 950. Will never use again.

This guy can not be beat!! Great work, cleaned up nice and the best price.... PERIOD!! He does all of my families houses and would recommend him to anyone.

Dave was very responsive and was willing to work with me on payments. Job was done in less than a week.

Dave has been jerking us around for WEEKS, and we now have a code violation court date due to his inability to get the job done. How many times can an ENTIRE crew get "food poisoning"? How many phone calls go unreturned? How many times did he say he would be out, only to not show up? This guy is unprofessional. Don't waste your time - you get what you pay for, and this guy's prices get you a job not done.

Dave quoted me a price over 2 months ago, but never did the job. I spoke to him probably over 1/2 dozen times and he always has an excuse. I got tired of waiting so I called 3 other companies. All 3 say they know Dave and he bids his jobs way low, but never shows up to do the job. This seems to be common knowledge in St Pete. I think Dave is very unprofessional and NOT man enough to admit his mistake. I actually offered more money if he just get out there but he ducks the calls. How sad is that? Do yourself a favor and stay away from Dave and his company!

I am a 20 year Navy veteran and I have been treated with more respect by our nation's enemies. I hired Dave Coley to trim back an oak over my driveway and remove some dead limbs that were hanging too high for me to get. He also offered to haul away a debris pile (not storm related) for free. He quoted me $400, an unbelievably low price compared to other quotes I received (this should have been my first red flag). He told me he would do the work on Friday, Nov 22, but instead showed up Thursday, Nov 21, when I wasn't home (looking back, this was probably on purpose). When I got home, I saw some of the work had been done, but the oak limbs still covered the driveway and the debris pile was still there. I texted Dave to ask if he was coming back to finish the job. He said his guys got hurt from thorns on the palm fronds in the pile and I should have warned him. He even said he was going to bring me the bill from urgent care from his guys getting thorns removed from their hands. What?? The only reason I asked him to clear the pile was it would save me the hassle of renting or borrowing a trailer and I expect a tree service to be smart enough to wear gloves! Especially when they can see what kind of palm fronds are in the pile! I told him not to worry about the pile since it was an add-on anyway, and I said I'd pay him $400 if he finished trimming the oak like we agreed. He said he trimmed what he could and already told me the city arborist wouldn't let him trim any more. That wasn’t true, in fact he told me specifically the city arborist wouldn't care about what I was asking him to trim (AND I had already received two written quotes from licensed arborists who didn't bat an eyelash at trimming the oak... there's no way these reputable businesses would risk violating city code). Now, Dave threatens me with a lawsuit if I don't pay him the $400... for work he didn't do!! RIDICULOUS!!! No one should hire this swindler!

Called Dave to remove a tree downed by the hurricane. He came out that day, gave me a quote that I agreed to, said he would be back the next day to do the job. Never heard from him again. Finally talked to him about a week later, he said he got to house and realized the job was bigger than he originally estimated so he just left. Never called me to renegotiate, just left.
Said he would stop back by for a new estimate, but he never showed or called again. Very unprofessional and unreliable.

Hired Dave to fix an oak with storm damage. Spoke with him after Hurricane Milton, he looked at the tree said he could fix it and would get back to me on price. 3 months later he finally quoted me a price to remove the damaged top, remove dead limbs and lift the branch that's over my roof. Good price so I agreed. When he was "done" I went to take a look. He didn't touch the storm damaged top ( the only reason i hired him in the first place)! He stated he saw something fly away and the top must have a bee hive therefore he won't touch it. Yet I am charged for the full job. Lesson learned. Will never use his company again. Side note.. there is no bee hive in my tree.

Gorilla Tree came out and did an excellent trimming job on our huge tree before hurricane season. They worked hard, they cleaned up everything and hauled it away. Treated us with respect and gave us a very good price. Will definitely call them again.

I would highly recommend! They did an amazing job on my property. Nick and his crew removed 3 trees and ground down the stumps. They also trimmed up a large oak and 2 additional trees.

With hurricane season approaching, we knew our overgrown trees were a real liability. Nick and his team exceeded every expectation — they showed up on time, worked safely and efficiently, and delivered quality work for a fair price.
