ResCom Contractors

We purchased a “fixer upper “ in January of 2023. We hired ResCom in April of 2023. We live in Ohio which made it a challenge to be more actively involved (on-site) with the day to day project work. Our intention was to renovate this home for our winter escape in retirement! The home was officially completed in June 2025 (final payment)….well over 2 years of time for a 1,440 square ft block home. Communication was a huge challenge with the contractor (Paul). The distance from our primary home in Ohio we felt made us a low priority in getting the job done timely. The work done was satisfactory …… and yesterday (3/24/26) our last repair of a defective installed window was completed. ‘Thank you’ to Dorothy for helping us finalize the small list of final repairs.We would also like to recognize Desi and Luigi as two very professional and conscientious team members!
Moral of the story… if you are not able to be local or in-person involved with a complicated renovation… ResCom may not be a good pick!
Sometimes it is the little things… for example, we had picked out pendant lights for over the kitchen island. We purchased the perfect accent lites for the kitchen only to arrive for a visit and find that they were never installed. The lights were immediately delivered by our daughter to the property and explained to the on-site person in charge but the electrician was never made aware of the plan. Canned light was installed instead. Also, we had specifically asked to keep the fireplace mantle for “nostalgia” to preserve the one and only piece from the original home…. The work team discarded it…. They were never informed to keep it.
We are now enjoying our winter retreat… in a nutshell, it came down to communication… we even experienced many scheduled calls and in person appointments that were no call/no show! Those frequent occurrences left us confused, frustrated and helpless and despite voicing our concerns they became almost routine for Paul.
