Too bad I didn’t read these reviews first! I hired him to replace my roof & him & his workers put new shingles on rotted wood which ultimately caused a terrible leak through my chimney & fireplace. When it first started as a minor leak he went on the roof said he didn’t see an issue & “sealed” up the chimney with some sealant. Weeks later it rained & caused a terrible leak inside. When I asked him about it & showed him pics from other real roofers he claims it wasn’t his fault & the “warranty” only covered him replacing the shingles.

Cecil Davis and his son`s provided below subpar standard of work to my house in regards to electrical work. They have been to my house twice and each time left exposed wires that were live; Improper installation of a circuit breaker box. They installed the box held up with one screw and cut the stud out of the wall supposing the stud got in there way of installing the box. He refuses to accept poor workmanship when bought to his attention. Please be aware of there services, I believe they prey on unsuspecting single women homeowner(s).

It's unfortunate that this wasn't handled properly, but I cannot under any circumstances recommend Cecil and his team.
I hired Cecil, as per my realtors referral, to do some electrical wiring for an X-ray unit in a commercial building. His initial electrical "reading" told us that the office building had a 480 volt feed into the panel. This reading prompted my x-ray engineer and I to order a 480v compatible generator for the installation process. It wasn't until we hooked everything up that we realized the building had 208v 3-phase voltage, not 480v, but that Cecil hadn't even looked to find out! It says it right there on the outside of the panel, and you can hook up a standard volt meter to the wires and read the voltage and current.
This negligence cost me $6,000 in ordering a brand new generator, shipping costs, plus the time and travel expenses for my x-ray engineer.
I then asked him to replace the wiring for this initial install because 480v wires cannot be used on a 208v current. After he finished "correcting" his mistake, we realized that none of the wires had been properly wrapped or placed in a metal conduit. If not for my x-ray engineer looking above the ceiling tiles, I would never have known this was the case.
I had two electricians and one electrical engineer come by to get a building calculation and make sure the work was done properly, and each of them were astounded by what they saw. One electrician from Pat Murphy Electric said "an electrician didn't do this. There's no way this guy is a licensed electrician."
And he was right... I went on the Georgia registry for contractors and electricians, and I couldn't find any record under the name "Cecil Davis" or "Cecil Davis Contractors".
It's one thing to make a mistake, but another to continue to add more problems to the situation. He said he'd "make it right" but when I asked him 3-4 times to give me an update or claim number from his insurance, he said they hadn't gotten back to him. I now believe he isn't insured, because he isn't licensed, and has no idea what he's doing. I'm now forced to settle this matter in small claims court, but the original attempt to serve him came back as "no response or contact".
Please save yourself the money, headache, and potential danger by passing on this company, and hiring a licensed electrician.
