In Fall of 2025, I engaged Classic Landscapes to update an existing landscape to achieve a more updated appearance with lower maintenance. Owner John Newman not only met but exceeded all of my expectations! He created a plan that complimented the Craftsman architecture of my house in keeping with the "village" feel of our small neighborhood. All work was accomplished on time as promised and the few new plants that did not survive the first winter were promptly replaced.

They were great. I had issues with my lawnmower and John came right over. When asked he was very kind in giving me suggestions on how to spruce up my yard.

From beginning to end John was great! Instead of just allowing me to possibly waste time and money by picking out the wrong things for our front yard project he collaborated with me. He gave me the pros and cons of what I wanted so I could make an informed decision.

This company doesn’t care about us as their customers. Would never hire again and would encourage friends to look elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. Owner was present and involved in the beginning and made us feel like he would ensure excellence in the work to earn our business and then he disappeared. He began sending inexperienced crews that skipped out on promised services (weeding, trimming, removing the grass clippings) and they scalped our yard consistently. We also hired him for landscaping and we had to track him down many times just to get what we paid for and to replace his shoddy initial work.

We have been a client of Classic Landscapes for many years. They do fantastic work, always making sure the grounds look nice rain or shine! John is always one step ahead walking the area to see if there is anything extra that may need attending, especially after a storm. We couldn't ask for better service!

This company did a beautiful landscape design for the front and back yard including a brook and pond. The project was completed within the quote and on-time. A few plants did not survive the transplanting and they were replaced as promised. John is very easy to work with and stays on top of his subs work and communicates well via phone, email and texts. I highly recommend this company for residential landscaping design and planting.

He comes weekly to check on the status of the lawn and to ensure that the quality of the lawn is still on par with his standards. Any issue that does occur with the yard he tends to it immediately. The workers that are employed are very friendly and responsible. Because of him, I have the best yard on my street. My neighbors are constantly complimenting my yard.

My husband and I have had Classic Landscape do several projects for us over the past 11 or 12 years. We had water problems in the backyard and they put in French drains many years ago, along with a dry bed in the front. We haven't had a water problem since then. They have re-landscaped all around the house for us. One of the things I appreciate is that they make every effort to give you the landscape that you want. They take their time to find out what are some of the things that you really like, what is your vision. And the Classic Landscape work crews are the very best. Friendly, but they are working every minute they are at your house!

John and his team did a great job solving a major drainage issue and struggling backyard issue into an inviting and picturesque entertainment area. He thought of everything from specific plants, placement, irrigation and subtle lighting. His team was hard working, timely and very conscientious and considerate to not inconvenience us in any way and John kept us posted every step of the way. I love flowers and growing things and can’t wait to enjoy this space for years to come.

I would highly recommend Classic Landscaping for any type of yard modification or landscaping / design. Classic came out and performed a detailed survey of our backyard and then went over some ideas with pictures. From there, Classic designed the modifications to the backyard to solve some of our drainage and tree coverage issues on our lawn and gardens. Classic gave us a number of good options and suggestions. Classic worked with us on the scheduling of work really well. Classic always called us to tell us when they would be out the next day and what work was going to be performed. Classic stayed in touch with us on everything including a major fence relocation that we did not have to end up performing since the modifications ended up meeting code height requirements for having a pool. When it comes to price, Classic was very reasonable and gave us several different cost options including the money back on the fence modifications. No change orders – they did it for what they said even though they had to perform some extra work in certain areas.
Classic also left our lawn looking great and removed all of the trash. Any unused materials they used on other areas of the yard.
Great work, great looking, fixed our drainage problem and helped our lawn look much better – exactly what we wanted.
