I did a google search 6/24 looking for help with my backyard. Out of three landscaping companies Tyler with Top Notch Landscapes was the most informative most professional, so we decided to go with Tyler. After going through the process of getting permits with the county Tyler and his awesome crew started the work. We are so pleased with the outstanding work that was completed. From a backyard that was unusable and after Top Notch it’s a beautiful masterpiece. Best contractor I have ever used.

We have had so much success with this company. We have had serious drainage problems and Top Notch did an excellent job. We no longer have a problem with water accumulating next to our house. The French drain they put in works perfectly.

They were able to cut into a large hill and level the area while pushing an existing swale to the back of my property. Top Notch is just that—Top Notch! Tyler is a great businessman, skilled and knowledgeable, but most important, he is trustworthy, honest, and fair. He helped me transform my backyard from just a “hill” sloping right down to my house, into a beautiful sanctuary.

I have used Top Notch on a couple of occasions but most recently for a complete renovation around the pool area. Their work is the best I have seen. Not only do they bring your ideas and their creativity into reality, but they also pay close attention to things like drainage, functionality and balance etc. which sometimes are easily overlooked. Top Notch Landscapes has been our landscaping company for about 20 years. They have done an outstanding job for us, both at our main home in Berkeley Lake and our lake house on Lake Lanier. Our house in Berkeley Lake was hit by a tornado back in 1998 and our woodsy cul-de-sac backyard was nothing but a bunch of dirt afterwards. Top Notch has done almost all our work over the years since and they have renovated our formerly sad-looking backyard into a beautiful haven we enjoy more every day. At our lake house, they completely renovated the landscaping at the front of the house, cut back tons of overgrown azaleas, hollies and such around the property, and also have helped us tremendously by correcting a lot of drainage problems.

Top Notch has done a variety of work for us: a significant amount of drainage work at both houses, irrigation diagnostics and corrections, lighting work, total backyard makeover with plenty of custom landscaping, front yard makeover, driveway extension, patio design and construction, stone walkway design/install, custom retaining wall design and construction, sod installation, outdoor faucet installations, and there’s probably plenty I'm forgetting! One thing I especially have appreciated with their work is that they did not just throw out everything we already had, but instead included several existing plants in their design, moving them to a much better location. They even moved a huge Japanese maple tree that was at the front of the house to the side of the house by the garage where it is still thriving.

I highly recommend Chris and Tyler! Good, honest guys who quickly become friends. We will forever be calling Top Notch when we need landscaping work done. The pictures speak for themselves.

We couldn’t be happier with the incredible work Tyler and his team at Top Notch Landscapes did for our property! From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond to transform our yard.

We were dealing with a frustrating erosion issue due to poor drainage from our gutters, and Tyler came in with a clear, effective plan to fix it. They installed buried downspouts all around the perimeter of our home, and the difference it has made is night and day—no more erosion and washed-out soil!
But they didn’t stop there. They laid down new sod in the previously eroded area, refreshed all of our beds with new mulch, and even created two stunning creek bed features that not only helps with drainage but looks amazing.

We’re incredibly grateful for the care and attention to detail that Tyler and his crew put into every part of the project. It’s rare to find a company that combines expertise with such friendly, responsive service. I highly recommend Top Notch Landscapes—they truly live up to their name!

Top Notch Landscapes truly executed our vision. We had a massive project with creating a level backyard from an overgrown steep slope! Tyler and the crew were amazing to work with. Tyler provided multiple options/proposals, suggestions, and transparency throughout the project. Chavez and the crew worked efficiently and the work site was cleaned on a daily basis. We had to make a few modifications and timing was extended due to the large scale of this project + weather. The project consisted of a retaining wall, tons of fill dirt/gravel, grading, fencing, artificial turf, and a ~500 sqft patio. There was a ton of work at a great price.

Overall, I recommend Top Notch Landscapes for any landscaping needs. Our new backyard is dreamy and we're all excited for many memories in our new space!
