Atlas is a great company, with great people. My wife liked them from the start. I on the other hand was hesitant, however they ended up doing a great job and helped us stay within our budget. Again THANK YOU Atlas for all you did for me and my family.

Was contacted shortly after calling even though the lady on the phone stated that they usually try to get back within 72 hours. I explained that I would like to remodel my home and they answered all of my questions and we set up a day and time for an estimate walk through of my home. When they arrived at my home, they thoroughly inspected and gave me options and price points that worked with my budget. I am currently in the process of remodeling my home. It is a smooth, cost effective process so far. Thank you Atlas Construction.

Atlas is the place to go.for your dream house or just a simple addition. We did an addition to my mom's house and we love it. They helped us from day one with everything from financing, the planning and even answers our questions now when we call them. If we need anything else done on the future we will definable use atlas. I even referred a good friend of mine and they are also doing an addtion to there house as well. So atlas is the place to go

Our experience was painless, stress free and my family walked away with even more than we imagined possible. We visited with 6 contractors before selecting Atlas and we took the time to visit the homes they built. One of them happened to be our friend's house. We were in awe with all the fine details that was put into the house. The house had a lot of character and that's exactly what we wanted for our home. A home that reflected our dreams but also one that had the "WOW" factor all within a limited budget. Atlas gave us our WOW and we will forever be grateful. Most people only build one home in a lifetime. Choose your contractor wisely and never look back. We can honestly say, we have no regrets. We found a contractor that can be trusted, gave us peace of mind and truly satisfies out desires.

Thank you to all the workers that put up with all of our changes, namely Nathan, Rance & Bruce. You were all ever so patient and never once made us feel we were driving you crazy with our indecisions. All of you have great people skills and despite all the projects you work on, you found a way to make us feel like we were the only one you had..you made us feel special and treated our house as you would your own.

Bruce Kim, the owner of Atlas Construction-what a fine gentleman! He has a tremendous sense of work ethics, an excellent demeanor, and imparts into his workers the same sense of responsibility that he practices. He was always there at various stages of the remodeling of my house in 2006 and he always addresses my concerns. He makes sure that everything is done properly and according to my specifications. He also gives me very sound advice as to how I would address these various concerns regarding structural, plumbing, and even minor repairs. An excellent, trustworthy individual of which is very rare to find nowadays.

What an amazing experience. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't consider anyone else other than Atlas Construction. The whole process was handled with the utmost professionalism and courtesy, all the way from the initial consultation to the final review. My build was different than most and included 23' retaining walls and all kinds of other personalization from plumbing to electrical, and they exceeded even my high expectations. They stuck to their original price, even though I know things came up that increased their costs. I don't believe you will find a contractor anywhere with more fairness and integrity than the Atlas Construction. Worth every penny and every one of the five stars.

I decided to write a review for a project that Atlas Construction did for my Mahana property in Palolo however I kept putting it off until ironically I was looking through the Sundays News Paper and saw Atlas Construction had received the Star Advertiser Hawaii’s Best 2013 people’s choice award first place for best contractor. Congratulations to Atlas and all the Ohana. I have not worked with any other contractors before so I have nothing to compare to, other than “horror stories” I heard about the headaches and “price adjustments” contractors are synonymous for. To my great surprise Atlas Construction was a real joy to work with from the beginning patiently assisting me through my financing, the designing the permitting up until the day I moved in. I made numerous changes throughout the design process and after the start of my house and not once did I feel pressured , I never felt like a burden, on the contrary Bruce Kim was very patient and he assisted me in making the right choices according to my needs. I never knew a contractor would take you to all the vendors and help you choose fixtures, lightings and even down to the cabinet pulls, which I am so grateful to for Rodney Kim who drove me everywhere! The entire experience was wonderful, I am so happy that I had the opportunity to build my home around my wants and needs and I am especially happy with the work that Atlas did, the quality of their finished product by far surpassed my expectations. They have something really special there, its really great that most all the people who work at Atlas are family. Overall I had a truly pleasant building experience. Atlas Construction you guys are all wonderful…. Thank you so very much for all you did!!

Nathan Park was my advisor for my home renovation project in 2015. He was honest, patient and trustworthy throughout the whole planning and designing stages. I could call him at any time with questions and he would respond within minutes every single time. Even to this day (Feb. 2020), we touch base occasionally. If I need any help with finding repair people or advise on anything related to construction, he takes the time to refer me to good people or advise me on what I should do. I was very surprised to see the negative review and hope people are not influenced by one person's opinion. I am glad I went with Atlas Construction and would do so again if I need any major repairs.

I know how stressful it is finding and contractor and wanted to share my experience with others so that they may make a more informed decision. When we decided to tear down and rebuild our home in Kaimuki, we met with a total of five contractors. All of them had some great ideas but each were different in their approach – some more pushy, a few seemed too busy or apathetic, and only one was real down to earth and made us feel like that had our best interest at heart from the outset – Atlas. For example, the Project Manager (Nathan) was very concerned about keeping us within our budget so that our mortgage payments would be manageable as oppose to building the house that would maximize the contract price (it seemed that way with some of the others). What also really impressed us was during our site visits to their other projects in progress or competed, the numerous clients we ran into all had nothing but complimentary things to say about the company. Their vendors and subs thought very highly of them too! They accommodated every request we had, allowed us to build the home we wanted (we did not want to build a box), and were transparent about the process, costs (no mysterious change orders or nickel and diming), and timeline. They treated our Project as if it were their own and provided us recommendations during the design AND BUILD process. To those looking for someone to build their dream home, my recommendation would be the same: Find someone you feel comfortable with because there are some many decisions to be made from beginning to end and you want a partner that you can trust to help guide you; and also be fair with you when the inevitable obstacles occur (which the will). We love the home Atlas built for us two years ago and are glad we picked a contractor that was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend them to all of my family and friends and have. In fact, 3 people that we know have worked with Atlas too and all have had a similar experience to ours (they are also raving fans !).

Don't bother looking around for other contractors because Atlas really is the best choice. We wanted to build an extension off of our parents home and wanted to do a three bedroom, 1 bath place of our own. We did our research on other contractors and at first, met with a different contractor for an estimate. This other contractor was referred to us by a family friend so we figured we'll check them out. The estimate they gave us was higher than our budget and the draft that was drawn up was not really what we wanted. Needless to say, we didn't "feel" it with them and decided to look for another contractor....Enter Atlas Construction!

From the very first phone call for a meeting to the completion of our new home, Atlas has been WONDERFUL! I first noticed during my research that they were voted #1 contractor in Hawaii. Good sign right? We met up with Josh for an estimate and things started to look up for us. Josh came prepared with information, portfolios, and an estimate that was lower than the other contractors price. Not only was the estimate lower but they were able to draw plans to include the three bedrooms that we desperately needed (side note: we were living in a 1 bedroom, 400 square foot place at the time) Did I mention, my wife and I have three young children...yeah, pretty tight for us.

Once we finalized out plans we happily signed our contract with Atlas and eagerly awaited for out new home to be built. This is the really exciting part. Our permits didn't take long to begin construction and right afterwards a crew was breaking ground. I was amazed at how fast the construction of our house took. The owner, Bruce Kim, was our project manager and he was simply AWESOME! A really friendly, polite, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional guy. Bruce and his crew took care of everything we needed including making helpful adjustments to our house that made it even better. Communication with Atlas was seamless. Every time we called for questions or comments Bruce, Josh, or someone at Atlas were always there for us. I honestly don't have one bad thing to say about our experience with Atlas. My wife came up with a term calling it, "The Atlas Experience". hahaha. She describes the Atlas Experience as having a contractor which does quality work, is trustworthy, and professional. I think one day the phrase, "Atlas Experience" will become common knowledge.

Needless to say, once our home was completed we were so happy and satisfied with our new home. Everything was built with good quality materials and we just love what Atlas has created for us. Thank you everyone at Atlas, Bruce, Josh, Mika, Reyna Frank, Pat, Danny, the office staff, everyone. Best of luck with building your awesome business even more.

Iʻm not sure why "AT" posted such a negative review. My house is currently being built by Atlas and Nathan was my initial project coordinator. He was always courteous, gave recommendations and tried to assist whenever he could. There was never any deception, hard sell or pressure from Nathan to go with Atlas in any way. I know there are builders out there that promise fast and cheaper homes, but I did not want to have problems down the line. I chose Atlas because I believed they would give me a quality home that would last.

The entire Atlas team was great to work with! My wife and I had never gone through a contractor before, but the purchase of our 40 year old house needed some help. The Atlas team outlined the entire process to us from the beginning and kept us posted throughout all phases of the renovation. The best part of the Atlas experience is working with knowledgable team!! They helped us better understand certain aspects of the design so that our house not only looks great, but it's also very functional for everyday use. Thank you Atlas for turning our dreams into a reality!!!!

We are in the final stages of our project w Atlas Construction. From the start the team at Atlas has proven to be honest and trustworthy every step of the way. Nathan was our first contact at Atlas and helped us every step of the way! He has always been very professional, patient, punctual and detail oriented - which is what we were looking for. The team has been outstanding! Saul, Matt, Clayton and the rest of the crew are the A team! The quality of work and care these guys have put into the project far surpassed our expectations. We couldn’t be happier we chose Atlas! Can’t say enough about the level of craftsmanship and pride these guys take in their work! Hard to find these days!

When we decided to add an extension on our existing home we had to choose a contractor to help us from start to finish. Atlas was a clear choice for us as they were very professional and extremely detailed. Mika was extremely knowledgeable and always courteous when any changes were made. From the blueprints to the final coat of paint, everything came out beyond our expectations. I highly recommend Atlas Construction for any new build or renovation.

Atlas did an amazing job with our house! The pre-construction/drafting was a little rough, but everything after was great. Our project manager (Shay) and selections officer (Mika) were amazing!

Shay was very approachable and easy to get in contact with; there was a very open line of communication. She is a perfectionist, noticing even minor flaws and addressing them quickly. Shay explained everything we needed to know and answered all our questions in lay terms so we could easily understand. She assisted us even after the build was completed. We could not have asked for a better project manager than Shay.

Mika was incredible to work with. She has a great eye for finding things (e.g. fixtures, countertops, tile, etc.) that match our style and price range. She recognized flaws in the earlier plans and addressed it so the transition was seamless. It was so so so easy to work with her! She made the process exciting.

Atlas Construction took care of us through every step of the process. Josh helped us with the initial phase, and was a great collaborator as well as Jeremy, our planner. They were very knowledgable, met with us weekly listening to our ideas, all while keeping it within our budget. Our selections designer Bethany was also amazing and brought my dream kitchen and bathroom to life and was a joy to work with! Our project manager Shay was nothing short of exceptional. She addressed our concerns day and night, resolved issues in a timely manner, and was in constant communication with us. She is a perfectionist which is exactly the person you want building your house. Our family loved working with Shay and I cannot express how appreciative we are to her and her team. This is a long overdue of Atlas Construction. They helped us design and build an ADU, starting back in 2018! They helped us create a unique L-shaped design so that we could maximize the space on our lot and the views from the rooms. They also took care of all the permitting and helped us through the process so that we only had to make a few decisions at a time. We liked many of the fixtures and other options that were within the pricing structure and it was easy to work with their partner vendors for things like designing the cabinets and picking out countertops and tiles. It was also very clear if we wanted options that would cost extra, so there were no surprises. I’m writing now because we’ve had a couple of wear and tear items come up and even though they were out of warranty, Atlas has still been super helpful reconnecting us with the vendors and getting things fixed right away. With the heavy rains back in January this year (2025), we noticed a leak in the roof. When we contacted Atlas, they made sure to send the roofer right away, since we were forecast to get more rain soon. He was able to fix everything quickly and we stayed dry in the storm and haven’t had any problems since. We had a great experience working with Atlas, they helped make what was a daunting and overwhelming process relatively straightforward and fun. Plus, we love the house that was the result!

After many years of discussion, my mom finally agreed to live with us! The best solution was to build an ADU so she could have a space she felt comfortable in and could call home. It was quite a big change for her after living independently, so we took our time researching options and companies. My mom wanted a design-build company that would take care of the entire project from start to finish. We met with three other design-build companies and felt most comfortable with Atlas. Their estimate was also fair and reasonable.

Josh, our project coordinator, was down to earth, patient, a good listener, and easy to work with. He made my mom feel at ease and clearly cared about what was important to her. Josh was a constant presence from the beginning and throughout the design phase.

We met with Jeremy and Josh weekly to design the layout and specifications of the ADU. We had difficulty making some decisions and changed our minds on a few things. They were incredibly patient and kind toward us, doing their best to accommodate exactly what my mom wanted. We continued meeting weekly with them until we were completely happy with the design plans. After that, they took care of submitting the plans for permitting.

Once permitting was approved—less than a year later—we met at our home with Josh, Bruce (the owner), and Shay and Saul. Bruce came to meet us personally to share the company’s heart, commitment, and dedication to its customers.

Shay was our project manager, and we worked with her for the entire duration of the build. Shay was extremely responsive, patient, accommodating, and always available. We can be very detail-oriented and nit-picky, but she took it all in stride. She truly went above and beyond every step of the way to make sure we were happy with everything and completely satisfied with the end product. Even when unexpected things came up or things didn’t go exactly as planned, Shay always made it right.

The build took about nine months, which was quicker than the permitting. All the workers and subcontractors were great to work with. They were respectful, on time, and hardworking. Unfortunately, I can’t remember everyone’s names, but I specifically want to give a shout-out to Gabe, Randy, Shane, and Aaron; and to the subcontractors, Joel (electrician) and Marlon (AC).

Bethany, our selections coordinator, was also wonderful—knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to meet with us multiple times. She even came with us to different vendors to help us select every single item in the ADU. Her eye for design was extremely helpful. She also put together a packet of all the products we selected with their warranties and rebates!

We can’t thank Atlas enough for their professionalism and trustworthiness. Every member of the team worked with the same ethic and care. My mom is extremely happy and settled in her new home. It has everything she asked for, with quality materials and craftsmanship. Atlas was amazingly able to design an ADU with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a laundry room, living room, and kitchen—all within 800 square feet!

Even after our project was done, we have contacted Shay a few times, and she is still incredibly helpful and responsive. We are truly grateful for Josh, Shay, and the entire Atlas ‘Ohana and team who made us feel more like family than customers. We would not hesitate to recommend Atlas for your next construction project. They made a very daunting, overwhelming project as simple and easy as it could be, especially for people with no background knowledge in construction. Thank you so much for everything!!!

Selected Atlas Construction to build a new single family home. The process began with the drawing up of house plans. We met with Rodney and Jeremy on many occasions to discuss what we wanted in the new home. They provided valuable input based on their construction knowledge and experience.
The construction was supervised by Shay, our project manager. She was assigned the difficult task of overseeing and coordinating the work for all the different construction phases. She was very responsive to our questions and concerns and always there to reassure us during the rough spots. She did a great job.
Bethany was excellent in advising and assisting with the selection of counter tops, flooring, fixtures, cabinets, etc. She was knowledgeable, gave insight into the selection process and a pleasure to work with.
During the various stages of construction, we were very impressed with the quality of work by Atlas workers. Two who stood out as examples were Gabe, mason/site work foreman, and Wade, carpenter foreman. They were hard workers and always took the time to explain their answers to our questions.
The final result was a beautiful home. Highly recommend Atlas.
