I was very impressed with this man's work ethic and understanding specifically what I wanted done. He is friendly, knowledgeable and dependable. He showed up the day/time specified and did an amazing job with the spring cleanup needed. Leaves and branches gone on a larger property and he had great ideas for mulching my evergreens which I will have him do this spring! He is polite, no mess left behind and easy to trust to have on my property. Also, and importantly, his prices can not be beat. Highly recommend!

Ron and his crew have been a fantastic resource for all our driveway and yard needs. One of the most pleasant and dependable people in the business. His compost, soil, gravel, and mulch have been top notch. Would highly recommend!

Can't say enough about Murphy's. We used them for our gravel driveway, fixing a retaining wall, and bush-hogging. Been nothing but fantastic. They've been punctual, friendly, thorough, and affordable. I've been very thankful for their services, and you can't say that too often about certain landscaping companies. I have used Murphy's for mowing services for the last two years for my 1.5 acre lawn in Orono. They always do a great job and their crew is very reliable, polite and professional. I would recommend their service to anyone that asks.

When Ron and Vicky owned it this was a good honest business that cared. Well it’s got new owners now and it ain’t what it used to be. We noticed a change not long after the new owners took over. They hired a bunch of young kids who zoom around the yard wicked fast spinning when we used to have someone experienced doing the mowing carefully so it looked nice. They left trash in front of my house and didn’t come back to get it even after I called them and they said they would. Seems like now they just try to get things done as fast as possible without caring about quality. Maybe that would be something if the price was lower but nope it actually went up! We’ll be looking for a new outfit to mow for us next year.

Murphy's Lawn Care completed three jobs for us.. landscaping, a brick walkway and lawn repair/hydro-seeding. The entire team was (at all times) professional, punctual and responsive to any changes my wife or I made. The quality of the work is first rate as is their expertise in their chosen professional. We highly recommend.

One of there kids got stuck and spun up the grass. EDIT Nope I’m not in Canada! This is right here in the Bangor area and you are Murphy’s from Orono. You should keep better records and recognize your own mowers. EDIT The Murphy’s Lawn Care trailer was right there and there was a man on a riding unit with him. Dishonestly is not the best policy!

We hired Murphy's to help improve water drainage in our yard (grading, adding loam, hydroseeding) and install a paver patio and we are very happy with the work they did. Dave and Alex were easy to work with, they took the time to make sure everything got done properly and kept us informed about how the projects were progressing and if there were any setbacks.

The paver patio ended up costing us more than we were quoted, but the additional charges were clearly explained on the invoice and the result of additional work - which they did tell us about - needed because of our extremely wet clay soils. This extra work improved the quality and hopefully lifespan of the patio.

We've had a few heavy rains since the yard work was completed and there are no more pools of standing water. The grass is just starting to fill back in nicely.

We are looking forward to relaxing this summer out in the patio surrounded by our well draining yard.

We have been very impressed with all the jobs Shannon has completed for us. He preplans, explains the plan, is efficient, accurate and cost effective. We would recommend him 100%.

Shannon is incredibly attentive to detail and an excellent and proactive communicator. He did an excellent job improving the drainage around our house, improving or gravel driveway surface and did landscaping work that made our backyard such a nice spot.

We won’t call anyone else first! Shannon graveled our lengthy driveway and removed two very large pine trees close to our house. Excellent communication throughout from estimate to clean up. Professional work and reasonable pricing. Don’t hesitate to hire S.P. Landscaping!

I couldn't be more impressed with the extensive work that Shannon has undertaken on my wooded property. I needed to have eight extremely tall poplar trees cut down in my backyard, all of which were at an end stage of growth. I feared that any day they would collapse onto my house in a significant wind and/or rain storm. The trees were within my fenced in backyard, which presented a challenge accessing the area with his tractor and other equipment. Shannon and his crew arrived in February ’25 in frigid temperatures and proceeded to strategize entry and felling of these massive trees. In short order the trees were knocked down and removed, a remarkable process I watched from the warmth of my home. I highly recommend Shannon’s services and in fact plan on having him back for several more projects. He is quick to respond to queries and is reasonably priced.

We are happy to recommend Shannon and SP Landscaping. Our driveway was never properly completed and while searching for someone to top it we found a glowing review of Shannon. Our experience was just as good as that reviewer. He kindly educated us on our options, patiently addressed any and all silly questions we had, charged us reasonably, scheduled and arrived on time and did the work with thought and skill.

I fully recommend Shannon and S.P Landscaping. Our business -- Coach Stop Inn -- needed gravel driveway, parking lot and walkway refurbishment. Our "curb appeal" to the public is crucial. Shannon was professional, communicative (highly appreciated), and provided excellent work from his initial site visit through final completion. I recently hired S.P. Landscaping to resolve a persistent drainage issue in my gravel driveway. Every spring, I’d end up with large puddles of standing water that made access a mess. Shannon from S.P. Landscaping came out promptly, thoroughly assessed the problem area, and offered multiple long-term solutions. I appreciated his clear communication and honest recommendations.

We decided on installing a rock-lined drainage trench to redirect the water flow. Shannon showed up exactly on time and got right to work. He was professional, efficient, and respectful of the property. The results speak for themselves—what was once a problem area is now properly draining and blends nicely with the surrounding landscape.

Absolutely fantastic, and Gary is lovely to deal with. He and his crew were always in contact, and if there was weather or something delaying work, I always had a call.
