My husband started a new job in CA in February and my kids and I stayed in IL through the end of the school year. Once it was time to mow I contacted Sunset landscaping to take care of the lawn as I had so much other things on my plate with showings, cleaning, packing, and the usual stuff with two little ones on my own. I figured it was worth the extra expense for peace of mind in at least one area.
I honestly regret ever calling them. They'd tell me they would be there on Monday. Monday came and went, my lawn looking so long! Tues, Wednesday, Thurs, no one. Finally, Friday evening they came. They plowed through it as fast as they could. Leaving huge strips of grass unmowed because they were rushing. Since it was long by the time they actually got to it, when they mowed, large amounts of the cut grass remained on the lawn. Did they pick that up? Nope. Sun came out and started to kill my grass in the areas that were covered. I had to go out and do that myself. I decided to give them another chance. Contacted the owner and asked when they normally mow for Bolingbrook. He said Thursday. They didn't come until who knows when because I left for SC on Friday night and they still hadn't shown. When I got back into town(on the following Friday) I was greeted with long grass with mowed grass all over my lawn. I called and cancelled services. Mind you during this time frame I would check in and say, do you know when you'll be here? To no responses. Used a different company for the same cost and they let me know when and they were always there promptly. Cleaned up, edged, amazing service! Don't choose this company, unless you want your lawn looking like you could care less.

Needed to sell my place last spring, and they recommended adding more curb appeal to the front yard in order to get more for my property and make it easier to sell.... Great recommendations by the designer and got all the plants and stones at good prices. Have recommended to all my friends and family.

Made an appointment on Saturday and they promptly came out on Monday and did an excellent job! I’ll be sure to use them again for any future landscaping projects!

We contracted Sunset to build our back deck. The posts were installed crooked, the railing was intalled unevenly (and not up to code) and the stairs are falling apart after a few month. Eric did offer to send the same sub back to look at it, but after the quality of the work we were not interested. After completion of the work we were charged for items that Eric told us were not in the original quote. (i.e.300 dollars for rocks to be placed underneath the deck. When I question Eric about why it wasn't included up front - his response was, "it's included now." Umm....right but we talked about everything up front?) Overall we ended up paying $4K more than we were expecting and our deck needs to be re-done. I would advise people to not be fooled by the inital estimate that is lower than most competitors.
