Great job by Kevin explained what needed to be done. He spent time about what happened to multiple bushes and one of the trees. Clean up was excellent after both cutting down the bushes and stump grinding. Great job, won't hesitate to recommend Davey Tree.

Matt Hess and crew trimmed a large tree in our yard. Removed all the branches less than an inch and the tree looks great. Much needed on a very dirty tree.

Using Davey, I know I am working with experienced men and women. The entire crew was very knowledgeable and took the time beforehand to explain what they would do. Afterwards, the property was raked leaving no debris behind. I will definitely be using them again.

We had a stump removed from a very large river birch tree that was cut down last November. The service Davey offered was excellent, timely and fairly priced. Would recommend Davey to others needing tree service.

Davey’s has a great price for their services.
There’s a reason for the price tough. We had weeds in our yard, but they did come A few times and spray again for them. The fertilizer applicators are VERY sloppy. The granules for the fertilizer are all over my driveway, patio, and all the way up to my doors. My doors are at least 10 feet away from the grass. They also do not call to let us know when they are applying. I suggest being careful about putting lawn decorations out.

I used several of your services including: Deep Root Fertilization, Tree Trimming, Removal of Dead Branches from my Spruce Tree, and Removal of a Tall Spruce Tree that was very close to my house. All of these services were completed by a courteous and knowledgeable crew who were very thorough and professional. What more can I say. I was very pleased with my whole Davey Tree Experience.

Highly professional and courteous crews. Very experienced climbers and supporting team members are able to remove safely large trees in areas congested with other trees and closely located buildings. Crews are managed by well-trained supervisor with extensive hands-on experience and excellent knowledge of native and invasive species. Crews are running reliable equipment safely and efficiently.

Incredible experience from start to finish! Chris was professional, honest, and fair with everything from initial meeting to quote to completed work. Since my wife didn't approve of me swinging 50 feet up in the sky trimming Honey Locust's and Elms, I was glad Davey was there to get the work done. I would definitely hire them again in a heartbeat!

During summer of 2017, our sugar maple was obviously declining; it had been planted in that spot 23 years earlier and had provided welcome shade and beautiful fall color; our arborist Kevin came out to inspect and to recommend an air spade process. We had that done knowing that there were no guarantees of its effectiveness. This spring the tree was in even weaker condition; Kevin felt as bad as we since he had pruned the tree in its earlier life. The tree was promptly removed by a capable crew, and as of this review, we await a replacement; Kevin provided choices/prices promptly, and we appreciate his counsel and suggestions. Davey Tree has always served us well.

INSANELY expensive for tree services for residential customers. the prices for tree trimming or fertilization are outrageous for the amount of time they actually spend on the property. Plus I found the crew to be a bit rude, especially when I ask them to trim a particular branch or want the tree to look a certain way (as was discussed prior with the arborist). I think it was more than $300 for less than 15 min of work.

On top of that, our arborist is not very responsive. Annoying to be told that he'll follow up but never does. I dont know if it because I'm not a big account, but we've used them for various things through out the years, and we use them for our grass annually.

Their lawn service pricing is reasonable, and the crewman that does that service is responsive and attentive.

But overall, only 3 stars.

I used Davey tree service a couple of years ago when a tree fell on our house. The team came out and within 6 hours removed a tree that was over 18" in diameter and >50 feet tall. When I came home from work you couldn't even tell there had been a tree.

This year we had Davey come out and replace the tree that fell and add one more. Both trees are >10' tall and as before the team did an excellent job.

We have been very happy with their service.

Hired Davey tree to do an easy job trim my trees so we could grow grass. They came months later when we were out of town and BUTCHERED my tree line. They took out areas I told them not to touch because they did not like the plants and where I had privacy, they opened up the spaces and now I can see my neighbor's house from my yard where before I could not. I specifically told them not to mess with my privacy as I am a professional photographer and often shoot that area. Well no longer thanks to Davey Tree specifically Christopher. In my opinion. He has been a near complete failure in this situation. I have asked him to call and he does not and sent word by his employee that you need to remediate the mess you made of my treeline. No response for two weeks. He is ignoring me. Sent his men out to trim the trees thankfully the completed some of the job we paid them to do. What about remediating my treeline where you DESTROYED my privacy? Christopher came to the house when I was home and told me he did what they were hired to do which is a complete lie and he did not ring the doorbell,.. Needless to say I am VERY disappointed. He has been EXTREMELY unprofessional. I will post this same review EVERYWHERE. What is it going to take to get this problem fixed? Small claims court? Don't hire.

Jessica was a great representative, very personable and knowledgeable. She walked the property, made suggestions, and was honest about what they can and can't do. I stayed with my current lawn maintenance company only becuase Davey was about 80-90$ more per season than the one I currently have. That said if I ever run into major issues with the current provider than Davey would definitely be back on the list. Thanks

We have used Davey for several years - and they continue to provide excellent service. With the recent Derecho in Chicago, they arrived promptly to inspect the damage and had a crew within a week. Arborist Art is outstanding, as is is every crew that has worked on our property. Highly recommend Davey Tree.

The Davey crew was amazing-professional in every sense of the word from information, set-up, and removal to clean-up. They removed a dead 50+ year old oak from behind my house . Due to the difficult location and lack of access to the back yard , they had to lift the pieces over the house with a crane. Some pieces of the trunk were 48 inches in diameter! A truly impressive feat. And they were able to grind the stump. I can't recommend Davey Tree Service highly enough. The best--without exception.

The Davey Tree team came by and knocked out the tree to my taste safely and effectively. Every member of the team was committed, happy and awesome at their parts and working so well together that *I* wanted to join their team!

I highly recommend talking with these folks. They cut back a dangerous looming tree into a fraction of its size where we had a vine plant growing up it. It saved a ton of money and trouble.

Upon my request to remove a sick tree and planting 5,6 new trees, someone from this company came over quickly to check the situation. However, this company didn’t follow up with an estimate. I hired another company to do the job instead.

I used Davey to take care of our ornamental crab tree. Trimming, fertilizing, spraying and injections. All told for two years or so somewhere around 1500 dollars. The tree didn't look full. Smaller leaves on half the tree.. not full at all. After a treatment last year I was told the leaves looked like that because it need fertilization. This year after fertilization it started looking terrible. AGAIN! Half the tree starting losing leaves. Now the branches are dead! I emailed them only to suddenly be told it now needed a "special treatment." I asked what were they doing for the last 3 years? I sent our so-called arborist an email with NO REPLY. I sent one to the general email box, and guess what? NO REPLY. I'm now left with looks like a dying or dead tree! For the 1500 bucks I could have bought a beautiful new tree! I have nothing good to say about Davey. Disappointment is an understatement!

They are so reliable, so professional and did the job just like requested. They did not infringe on the neighbors property and the got the job done!
